Reviews of The Range/Iceland
K. B.
Only a quick visit for one item but, I have to mention that the staff are very helpful and friendly. No fuss and always eager to help.
Easy to find and plenty of parking spaces.
A huge “Range” of every day item and more for your home, car, pets and garden.
Prices are very reasonable and l, there wasn’t a long wait at the till at this time of day.
J. “. G.
A huge selection (range 🙄) of products. From art supplies to lay-Z-spa hot tubs. If you've been looking for something and can't find it anywhere, then it's worth checking the Range out as they might have it. I have always found the staff very helpful and friendly, and they have a good knowledge of the products available. We also went to the cafe and had lunch which was decent cafe type food. If you're going to be there for a couple of hours, then give your registration number to the service desk so you don't get a ticket.
R. C.
Based just on the outskirts of the city this is a medium size store carrying a wide range of good for the home and garden. An Iceland is also within the store but this in reality is just a few freezers carrying some of Icelands range. Parking is free although limited.
L. S.
Good shop to have a browse nice selection of furniture niknaks, craft items and plants. A wide 'Range' of goods at reasonable prices.
C. M.
Great customer service, took my given neck massager to get batteries as i didn't know which would fit, mind you this was not from their shop, they did not find it any hard to help me, unfortunately i didn't catch the names of the 2 HELPFUL, WILLING LADIES who helped me, CHEERS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! 🙏😁👌 Previously i had been in, was also rushing to get to work, i simply asked if another till could be opened and guess what, they did "happily", YAH DONT ASK YAH. DON'T GET!
N. V.
It's a hit and miss with stock and staff at times. You might see something online in different options but when you get to the shop they only carry 1 of that item or none at all. Often feels cluttered, with boxes blocking easy access. And some of the staff can be unprofessional, chatting away to each other and giving you an unwelcome feeling because you're interrupting their chat when trying to pass. I do say some because most of the staff are really lovely and helpful
M. M.
Gone downhill as far as stock is concerned. I think its since Iceland got in there. Too much space lost. Staff are really helpful but you won't find all the odd bits you once could.
P. G.
It's a wonderful store with all the needs available in one place. Especially 'Home Decor', 'Lighting' and 'Arts/crafts' sections are wonderful and the prices are also very affordable.
A. M.
Very dark and stuffy, only one till open and long queues. Not my favourite shop and it will be a long time before I go again.
S. R.
Gorgeous Christmas decorations. We wanted to buy everything we saw. Loved the shopping experience, not something we say often.
P. H.
Decent range of decor, home goods, craft items and more. Building is starting to feel tired and despite the recent refresh. Not sure they needed to add Iceland as there's already one in Shirley but it's convenient and expands the range of food stocked.
A. M.
Great shop full of everything you will need and more. Helpful staff but long ques at the till
S. L.
Just popped in to get a few things from Iceland, brought a few bits for the garden and car, queues abit long but got served reasonably quickly. Staff quite friendly and helpful
t.
Tiny compared to other The Range stores. Iceland freezers weren't well stocked so we had to make another trip to another local Iceland.
R. C.
Range has lots of products for house interiors exteriors, pet foods and garden accessories. If I compare it with other garden centres (Haskins), BnM, Range is cheaper. In garden accessories, Range has the brands which are cheaper than the German brands (Gardena, Hazelock), but personally haven’t verified the quality yet. I find a bigger and taller owl planter for the same price of BnM. Very good shop for the people who are in central Southampton.
L. G.
Staff are friendly it's also a nice relax store I never give 5 Stars as there's always room for improvement.
j. L.
Good value for money. Always worth visiting. Bought more than I anticipated.
T. S.
Well on a visit to sgh for appointment had time to spare found the range didn't know it was there but will most surely be going back amazing price's 😀
H.
This is a small store, holding a more limited range, and feels like an awkward layout compared the one I usually go to. Would recommend the one in Antelope Park instead.
K. S.
I love that shop. Bargains, bargains, bargains.
You can buy there things for home, kids, animals... so It’s everything what you need but with the best price. I love to buy for my kids and cats there so I totally recommend this shop. Its not that far away from city centre and their opening times are really good.
V. M.
We are absolutely thrilled with the service that we received in the Range today. In particular Tony from the furniture department went the extra mile and sorted our problem for us. He is to be commended. In general all the staff we came in contact with were extremely helpful. A wonderful team of workers. Congratulations to them all.
A. D. D.
Good selection of bits, definitely came out with more things than I intended to buy! But good service and enjoyed my visit
L. D.
Very cramped Isles... Products all over floor. Very miserable member of staff on tills. Very odd as usually a nice place to browse and shop
D.
Good range of products, maybe more customer assistants and will be better.
P. C.
Well laid out and very good stock very pleasant and helpful staff especially our cashpoint server Graham
E. M.
Really busy, but they have loads of great stuff. Tills were all open so queues moved quickly.
M. B.
Range was excellent as ever, and what a brilliant idea having it there. Kill two birds with one stone.
V. W.
Great variety of stock. Pleasant helpful staff, but let down by the indifference of the member of staff in the café.
T. M.
The Range is my kind of store where I go to buy bathroom items and end up buying curtains as well :-). The store has interesting household and garden stuff at an affordable price. My fav item so far is their vintage living/bedroom curtains. Quality fabric and lovely colours. Customer service is not that bad athough they could be more friendly.
J.
As the name suggests, this establishment does indeed feature a wide Range of products! This place has saved us on numerous occasions when we've needed something for the home or garden that was even slightly out of the ordinary. A very practical odds and ends shop, brilliant for craft materials. I've never had a particularly bad experience.
K.
Lots of variety instore however all looking a bit messy and queues too long (only 1 till ooen)
A. Z.
Great range of products. Store is clean and well organised.
L. F.
Great choice and good prices. Line the little Iceland on there- very convenient
D. F.
Good place to get cheap home items and a quick Iceland shop. Easy to park two hours fee parking and a small cafe on site. Not five stars as its abit small.
M. B.
Don't like the layout of the store since the addition of Iceland freezers. Made to feel as though we were in the way of a staff member, she was supposed to be sweeping the floor but she was just pushing the dirt around and making customers get out of her way. She seemed to follow us around the store making us feel like we were being stalked by a demented cleaner. Annoying and uncalled for.
N. B.
Literally has everything you need. Loads of different stuff, good prices. Staff friendly but ques can get a little busy.
A. C.
Everything you need for the home all under one roof & reasonably priced too. Unfortunately on our last visit Icelands freezers were pretty empty!!!
d. p.
Love the Range never seem to have enough time to look around. Always leave the Range with bags and bags of goodies.I bought a box of ice lollies from their new Iceland department but I found that they had been defrosted and then frozen again which made them enable. It makes you wonder what other items they have done it too. Wouldn't buy anything from theirfrozen department again. But yes well worth a visit to the Range.
D. C.
pretty much the same as normall iceland but conveniently placed in the range
v.
It has a range of options for varied customers and quality products of use.
A. m.
On my personal experience here I would say you can get what you need to a degree but seems to be an that staff with the much needed customer service skills are lacking!! Phehaps there just needs to be a training package put in place to increase sales. Tried ringing the store but no answer after 10 times of calling the store. Disappointing.
P. C.
It is a good shop so much that you can buy there
M. T. J. M.
Nice big shop with lots of variety at decent prices and not to mention Iceland is now inside so that's a bonus! Good quality stuff too! The only thing I think I could say is that the till area could be a bit bigger and improved other than that great shop!
P. A.
Huge place have everything well worth look..
A. R.
Perfumes could be priced and made more visible not have to wait for assistance
K. J.
Who doesn't love the range! I was recently surprised by the extensive 1st aid selection of products (twisted ankle) and they had exactly what I needed way cheaper than at boots! Free parking outside too right next door to Lidl!
J. D.
Super meals at an affordable price. Staff really happy to help no matter what the request is.
If you have not visited here for a while, or never before, just go and try a meal. You will be very happy.
A. J.
Very helpful staff
Love our garden swing
V. O.
Mostly everything can do purchase here, all range😀 of items
L. A.
Staff are well, quite abrupt!! Their clearly trained to serve as quick as possible, but it's quite hectic when it's busy, lots of shouting and confusion. The shop is well laid out, not much room for social distancing though. The actual building is extremely run down, the roof was leaking when we're were there. But the range in general is really good and has everything you need.
C. P.
Love shopping there. Lots of good reasonable priced goods
L. K.
Got everything I needed as always at a keen price.
F.
Lots of choice in all departments. Reasonable prices. Not a lot of checkouts, felt sorry for the one checkout woman! Other than that - good value for your money.
J. L. L. V.
Usually good - apart from one older member of staff on the tills . She certainly has an attitude problem and is rude and arrogant . . We buy our large cat litter bags and our cat food in your store . Asked at the till if we could get some help to put these items in our car . This woman was soooo rude and said ' how did u get it in the trolley then . Everyone is busy. . . What an attitude ( my husband has lung cancer and had lung removed . . I have cardiac problems and short of breath. Teach your staff NOT to be judgemental . . One angry and upset customer . . . . 😢
L. B.
Came out with more than I needed, the new ranges are really pretty, only request would be for some more varieties on colour for the artifical flowers as my room is blue/grey but could only find grey/pink flowers. Looks OK but wasn't preference
R. L.
Excellent variety of items, managed to get everything I needed in one shop
C. W.
All kinds of everything, stone circle to plastic flowers. If you are after cheap and cheerful then you will like this place
N. C.
I can spend hours in here just looking at the huge array of products.
R. T. (. W.
This is a large The Range store, well stocked with a good range of products at reasonable prices. Fills the niche that Woolworths once dominated. Well worth a visit.
J. S.
As usual, there is a good selection of essentials at great prices.
T. I.
Everything you could ever want for the home, great selections of all kinds of everything, except for the light bulbs we were looking for 😂
We bought loads of stuff we didn't go in for.
J. O.
Always been a good place to go for, arts and craft items. Struggled sometimes to get to every isle because the store is always so jam packed with stuff your not alway able to pass by to reach each aisle or place to see the items on the shelves.
R. F.
Decent place to go, not a lot on offer and check outs keep you waiting, most of the time it's due to a Karen wanting a specific item check, I mean we haven't got all day to play the que simulator... If it's not there or you couldn't be arsed to look properly, just take it as the item not being available.
It'll save the poor staff that are under paid as is, going on a wild goose chase for something not in stock.
I'll give 5 stars once there is a no Karen policy in place at the Checkout.
K. P.
Keep the cafe open ALITTLE later for more customers to use plus need more staff to serve on tills & improve with pricing put on items
B. R.
Of course Range has a lot of things but the main problem is how to find what you need. I spent 15 minutes to find shoe glue and ask 3 member of staffs and they had no clue. Maybe a small map of area can help.
L. A.
What you'd expect for the time of year with Covid rules.
Busy, queues and some empty shelves.
Some staff were fab and some obviously feeling the "joy" of working in retail at c time.
We found some of what we were looking for, reasonably priced although finding a staff member available on the shop floor was impossible (busy time of year).
I. M.
Variety in terms of merchandise, good quality, nice staff. Amazing Christmas decorations at great prices.
D. J. (.
Slighty decluttered and no one seeming to care around the shop. Looks messy and unkempt
T. P.
It is what it is, not the best value for money but plenty of choice
W. T.
Good variety of products. Since Iceland came in (Which I feel is a good thing) the layout of the store needs to be worked on. Certain products in the same category that used to be together now seem scattered around the store.
M. D.
Good place to pick up things for Art and Furniture decorations. Also designed Art/picture Frames. Good prices. Lower cost is so helpful. Thanks Range
T. L.
Has a good range of products although it can be a bit pricey. Iceland does not take the save card here.
M. S.
Store was as expected and staff were helpful and friendly, the parking was limited when I went
J. H.
Great range of products at really reasonable prices. Sure it's a little chaotic, but for the variety and good prices even on decent brands, is worth a visit. Good for art supplies and frames as well as home wares. Pick and mix is a good price too, we never leave without a cup!
P. R.
A lots of household stuff to be abought a ta bargain.
Products for the home including kitchen, garden furniture, etc.
Leisure and crafting stuff including stationary and school supplies are available at a very low price too.
A bit too crowded to be comfortable, though.
V. V.
I love this store. You can literally find anything here. The staff are helpful. Even if it's not their section. They still help. Well in my experience.
I am still to eat at the little coffee shop, maybe some advertising and some specials would go great with a to lure me in from my shopping experience. A wonderful art section, curtains, toys.. so much to look at.
Go have a look.
H. P.
Beth one of the sales assistants had excellent customer service skills and was very personable. Very happy and was keen to help. We had lots of things to buy and without asking Beth packed our things together. Lovely sense of humour and was keen to know about what we were buying. I come here most weeks to grab essentials with my mum and customer service like that makes me want to go again and again and again.
G. B.
Much improved since last visit. Smaller than Bitterne branch but good stock. In house small Iceland supermarket too.
C.
Great place for all sorts of items
m. h.
Yes I love this place, love the stuff they do, just don't like the queue to pay for your items.
D. G.
Good selection but seemed we were the only ones wearing masks apart from one checkout staff. Felt less safe than it ought. Secondly not much of interest in the outdoor section. Shame but still a good store
Z. W.
We went there’s and it’s really good
C. M.
I always go here to buy staff for my crafting and paintings! I find easily everything, also for clothing-making/painting!
Love this place - I also bought many staff for cooking/kitchen. It's really a nice quality for many cheap prices! But the staff is not very friendly, at least, only a few of them tried to help me patiently. Maybe because they're not paid very well.. But that's the reason why items are so cheap. 😋
p. c.
Never been there before. Unfortunately I was in a hurry so didn't get a chance to have a good look around but I liked what I saw, found what I wanted, bought what I wanted at a good price and will return.
l. t.
Comfortable visit as always. My only gripe would be to clear up carpark so white lines are seen. Parking can be a bit tight when people don't know the width of their own car.
B. L.
This store has a surprising ... well, #range# of things, many of which are really rather good. I bought a craft table from there, years ago, and it was so good I bought two more. All three are used regularly (TV dinner, mini cafe, laptop desk etc) and are still going strong. Good range for the garden, kids crafts, animal products and home furnishings. My only gripe is that the queues for the checkout are sometimes very slow.
M. M.
Has a lot of almost everything. Good one stop shop for last minute essentials or for something else you might need. Nice quality
S. K.
Stuff don't know what customer service means
W. W.
Perfect. Was actually the only store that had what I needed. I'd tried several different stores that day and long and behold this store had it in stock. Plus they got good covid secure 2 meters at tills and doors managed to count the number of customers so it's a safe store to visit
K. G.
good things, useful and beautiful to decorate
E. L.
Managed to get what we needed but the shelves were half empty, sometimes only a couple of things on each shelf, the place is filthy and is dire need of a refit asap. All the christmas stuff is rammed in one small area which made social distancing non existant.
T. L. F.
Everything you need for home, you will find it here , for good prices!
R. H.
Very handy shop selling most things at a reasonable price. Just stuck an Iceland in the shop as well in case of they need to become an essential service.
T. A.
Good prices but items are dotted around the store and not always in a logical place
j. P.
Great visit. Bought indoor paint, fence paint, a plant, some bags of play sand and some food items. No problem parking and fast at till
L. K.
I am a fan of all the Range stores, I had a lovely shopping experience. It wasn't too crowded so moving around was easy.
The store carries a wide variety of goods, but personally I go mainly for the craft supplies and kitchen ware.
I also had a nice cup of tea in their little cafe, which also does some food
J. G.
Great selection of items nice to have Iceland
J. P.
An excellent selection of art and craft materials. The prices are extremely affordable in a time of growing inflation.
B. C.
I went on a Monday, it wasn't too busy, they've changed the layout during lockdown, it feels much less cramped & checkouts we're quicker
c. s.
Good selection of products, quite well signed so you can find what you're looking for easily. What would have been a quick visit for a single bag of plum slate (@ a competitive price) was spoiled by the long wait at the single open checkout. Why wait until there is a long queue before calling for help - anticipate!
r. h.
Lots to look at and a big choice in purchases. Now having an iceland instore as well is a good thing.
H. M.
The best thing about this shop is the massive variety of products. It's great for finding DIY, art or gardening supplies. The value for money varies a lot but you can often find good deals. Sometimes it's difficult to find things, especially since the front aisles are quite narrow.
C. P.
The Range in Southampton simply caters for ALL your homeware needs. Being one of the larger stores I have visited, you are saturated in a wonderful choice of homeware items at very reasonable prices. The variety of items all under one roof makes it a favourite of mine, my daughter’s and my mum 😊👍🏽
J. B.
Prefer the bigger one near Bursledon but this is ok. A little disorganised but manageable. Didn't find what I wanted here but did find it at Bursledon
R. R.
This is a really good shop you never know what you are going to find, the only issue with it is that things are very rarely price marked and if they are they tend to be out of date price marks. But other than that 👍
J. M.
If I could live in a shop it might be this one. Excellent and eclectic stock at good prices. Only complaint would be the slow tills due to a technical issue at the moment. I use The Range for stationery and craft supplies, toiletries, DIY and home furniture. My favourite shop.
P. G.
Great variety of products, especially good for art supplies, pet products, storage and household decoration eg photo frames.
Some things no cheaper than elsewhere though. The cafe is very basic, but given the concerns others have raised about parking charges I wouldn't stay long (I've been many times and never had an issue but we usually go for specific things).
D. N.
Busy but helpful staff. There seems to be a very good team spirit at this store. Good value for money but items not always easy to find. I guess you have to expect that with the type of store
G. G.
Customer service could use improvements. And lots if kids running around when I went. Toilets for customers and a great choice. However I find that some items are really over priced compared to other places. Shop around.
A. &. K. (. S.
Experienced exceptional customer service at the cafe here today. Nothing was too much trouble for the person serving. Despite a queue and a large order which was evolving as I spoke, she was unflustered, friendly and polite. She even proactively suggested the tea cakes were slightly over toasted and asked if I wanted fresh new tea cakes. Explained the kids meal clearly and was helpful throughout. Top cafe!
C. “. T.
There's lots to buy here plus you have Iceland too BUT the queue to pay is very long so make sure you leave at least 15 minutes to get through the tills
J. J.
Useful local shop for buying a wide variety of things for the house and garden. Everything from greeting cards to dog food, furniture to fruit bushes, outdoor clothing to chocolate bars, bed linen to compost. Large car park. Small cafe serving drinks, snacks and cakes. Often long queues at the checkouts.
V. N.
Good place to buy gardenware, homeware and other bits and bobs. Can get very busy over the weekends. So plan accordingly.
N. C.
Great store it's pretty big with a wide range of products. Some bargains to be had. We went to get a couple of big mirrors which we picked up for next to nothing and if you are into crafts their supplies of paper and the like are plentiful.
M. Z.
Place looks more tidy and organised since they reorganized it. Usually Lots of lovely home decor, but a lot of things is sold out now, shelves are not empty
J. W.
Some decent stuff for our new house at very reasonable prices. Although it could be a little tidier, I specifically went to look at the water features only to find they were all blocked off by trolleys of plants that had been stuck in front of them. I tried to move them but they were far too big and bulky so I didn't out of worry that I might do some damage to me or others. If the place was a little more organised then I would definately give them a higher rating.
M. E.
I don't like the colour of the building because I don't like the colour purple and I don't like the huge R logo. What does it even stand for? Surely the logo should be TR for the range. Anyway, they need to fix this or they will lose me as a customer. A few saucy boys work there so that's a plus. I tell you if I was 15 years younger I would have my way with that fella on the garden department. Store is busy so means they have good things, checkouts always busy. Shops a tad rusty and smells like toes
O.
Obviously have lots of products and you'll probably find what your looking for. My only grip with the range and it's not just this store is the staff and the queues at the checkout. No one ever seems to want to help you and checkout is often painful.
R. L.
Always stocking a wide variety of different products that you don't find elsewhere. We get table covering here as they are cut to size. We also buy pet supplies here too. I enjoy shopping here.
p. m.
Shopping ok but need more staff on tills
J. L.
Useful selection of goods and good value. Just wish aisles were labelled to make it easier to find what you are looking for.
J.
Prices were good, but a lot of the stuff is cheaply made.
Has a wide range of stuff, from crafts, DIY, furniture and gardening.
I like the garden section, always lots of good plants, from flowers to fruit and veg, and pretty good prices.
n. s.
Quite busy, had to queue. Lovely selection on everything. Sanitizer at the door with staff member to supervise. Lovely xmas items. So I started my Christmas shopping.
M. P.
Had to queue as expected. Good hand and basket/trolley cleaning stuff available. Felt a bit too busy for me to feel comfortable shopping for long.
H. G.
Amazing range of choice ! Really reasonably priced products without compromising on quality & appearance
D. C.
Not the biggest of their stores but I found it to be stocked with the same quality of goods if only two thirds the amount. I visited in November and they had a great selection of Xmas goods and lights available. They have a substantial pet clothing section and the most wonderful soft furnishings department I could have spent a few quid on if not for Xmas!
The biggest downfall of this store is that they have a limited store parking (but all free) and they need to consider the usage of their designated disabled parking spaces. When I visited there were 5 spaces made for disabled drivers but only 2 spaces had cars occupying them; the remaining spaces were filled with shopping trollies!
For this reason I'm afraid, they lose a star at this branch!
S. D.
The Range is a great place to pick up all kinds of things at a reasonable price. Decent camping equipment, tools, kitchenware, gardening equipment, etc. Queues aren't usually too bad.
Parking is usually no problem, although spaces are tight.
S. W.
This place is great if your on a budget or your a hobbiest. There is something here for everyone of all ages. Furniture decor art pictures bedding confectionary pet goods And so much more pop in for a look you won't be disappointed plenty of parking. Note parking is limited to 2 hours per customer.
R. G.
Overall good home store, lots of variety, better than buying online as you see the physical product, customer service varies depending on who your dealing with, usually find the staff on the shop floor very helpful, not the till staff for some reason?
J. M.
Usual Range shop. I did not go to the Iceland part.
L. A.
Good range of plants. Advertises a watersports department which is a small Isle. Not much choice for kids toys.
P. J.
As ever, well stocked, but cramped. Hard to socially distance as the aisles are narrow.
N. B.
A great place for home decor, lighting, seasonal decor, kitchenware, arts and crafts and more. It is very good value. We've bought a few things from there. It loses a star because the place is a bit run down, needs a bit of love and some of the mechandise reflects its price so be careful and check the quality before you buy. Always worth checking it out if you want an affordible way to redecorate your home.
E. Q.
Massive queue without social distance in place.
The staff is not particularly friendly.
Good range of products and free parking.
M. A.
It's convenient to us because we live close to the store. I like the arts and craft section for kids. Also like the furniture section. Recently bought the desk to work from home...
P. N.
You can buy anything here. Sells a wide range of products at very reasonable prices. They sell everything from birthday cards to lawnmowers and everything in between. Only down side is the queues at the tills can take a while at busy times. The parking is free and there's normally plenty of it.
N. C.
Friendly helpful staff, shame more people were not wearing masks
E. B.
The range has a wide variety of goods for sale from decorating materials DIY tools garden furniture, bedroom and lounge furniture, pictures, ornaments, arts and crafts, food and key cutting. Prices are reasonable and I have never been disappointed by their quality.
They have their own car park which makes getting in and out in a hurry very easy and really the only downside is that queuing and paying for goods can be frustrating.
L. P.
The range stocks many different items. It is fantastic for craft items ranging from adult crafting to children craft sets, it sells items for all types of paper craft, painting and many more. They have a selection of toys, mirrors, bedding, fabrics, outdoor clothing and furniture. There is also a lighting section, DIY items, pets, home items, kitchenware and gardening. Most things can be found in the range but it is a large shop so can be rather confusing. The prices are generally reasonable.

Went to ikea today in southampton loved looking round all the showrooms lots of lovely furniture and beds and liked going round the different kitchens. Then my friend and had snack lunch she had a prawn and egg and i had a cheese salad we had free hot drinks as we had a loyalty card so that was good. Then we went downstairs and i got some glasses and pillows all really good price loads of choice!!! Will visit again soon
j. H.
Well stocked helpful store👍
t. m.
Great range of products but not enough people on the checkouts. Had a long wait but staff friendly.
Z.
Huge selection of decoration and furniture. By far the best place to find nice picture frames as well. The shop is extremely cold, they should be ashamed to keep their employees working in an absolutely freezing environment!
F. A.
Really big! Have loads of things. I went in for art materials and there was a very wide range and selection. The only slightly negative thing i can say is that some of the staff could have improved on their social distancing
K. R.
Busy, but they had covid practices in place. Unimpressed with how much stock they had lying around on the floor and walkways blocked. Not in an organised manner though, more a panic to get a delivery off the truck!
K. L.
A good budget shop for all things for a hobby. Decorating, Art supplies, garden supplies and a whole lot more. All at a price you can afford.
B. S.
Good place to grab a lot of home products, although more care could be taken with the store internals and processes such as price labels and room to get around, I doubt it would be very easy in a wheelchair to navigate this store, the aisles are quite thin!
S. A.
Fantastic place with great prices a lovely walk around with items for your home including food and plants pet food and lots of parking
W. G.
If you need to ask the price you may not want to pay that much. Its an odd place, pile it quite high but don't put prices on things so you can't decide if you want it. There is a huge range of stock, a bit of everything and they stock up well for calendar events but the displays are let down by a lack of prices. Free parking is great, trollies are always available and they will probably have what you need. Worth a vist to just look around if you have never been before.
S. H.
Absolutely love this shop. It offers such a wide range of products, aswell as having a small café that sells sandwiches and snacks. They have loads of seasonal decorations and it's all surprisingly good quality considering the prices. We have bought some AMAZING Christmas presents from here the past 2 years, it's definitely where we spend most of our money at Christmas!
R. B.
Great loads in stock, friendly staff. Shame about some crazy customers making people feel awkward not keeping there distance but a nice trio out to get what I needed.
D. N.
Excellent large range of items
K. B.
Queued for half an hour to get in so the bottle of water given out to customers was very welcome. Alot better experience now the screens are up at the tills and queing system is organised. Well done to the staff here 👍
M. D.
Very good shop to visit for all your art things or anything else you need for your home.
r. l.
Good range of items at a reasonable cost. Opening hours are excellent. Now even have an Iceland food section
P. H. C.
A great range(!) of arts, crafts and Christmas decorations. A little bit cheap and cheerful, however, the prices reflect this, very good value.
V. T.
The range, as its name suggests keeps a small range of nearly everything, with seasonal ranges and offers changing regularly. They have quite a good and reasonably priced art and craft dept, picture frames and gardening, as well as kitchen and homewares, pets and DIY. The store is very full and with small aisles can be difficult to navigate with pushchairs, trolleys or wheelchairs, so do Kelly this m in mind as can become a nightmare during busy times. There is a little coffee shop on site which serves cake and sandwiches, and some hot food.
M. M.
This store sells so many different things and I enjoy just wandering around looking. If you need something for the home or your pet then you will probably find it here. There is is a nice little cafe and a gardening department.
j. f.
Lots of items, wide range from crafting to furniture to decorating and pets also a good outdoors section. Nice cafe inside. Restricted to two hours parking. Some item very expensive.
D. B.
Has a lot of everything in this shop. Queues are long. Food in the cafe didn't look too appetizing. The isles are narrow which makes it very cramped but prices are good so guess that's how they do it. Cram a lot in one place.
S. P.
No problems, called the day before to check stock of some paving slabs I wanted, turned up and there was a good space out the front, store wasn't too busy and the stock was waiting on the shelf. No problems, happy days :-)
s. f.
Good selection of things, but a lot of things not marked up with prices
M. C.
After waiting to return an item at the customer service desk we were rudely told that we needed to join the long regular queue. We could easily have been served, but the woman refused, but eventually reluctantly agreed to process our return.
M. B.
Has lots of good deals but a lot of damaged items on shelves. Not kept tidy and the merchandising never feel like it is done properly. However very helpful and friendly staff.
N. P.
Quite a good shop all tills open which was good as quite a long queue, since Iceland incorporated need bigger area at tills to place items, as no room
D. G.
Went at 5pm and no queues. A lot of the items have no pricing which is most frustrating. The plants and growing veg need to be bought b4 they have to be binned.
T. C.
Good selection of stuff, store is a bit cramped now they have an Iceland in there too but I guess it just let's people do the food shop while they also browse for housewares and garden stuff too.
J. N.
Good place to get supplies. Massive and filled with pretty much everything you might need. The staff are helpful but are not nice while doing so. The stuff here is slightly over priced and are very poor quality for the price they sell it for, but some of the stuff is great and that's why I think this place is an okay place to go to if needed.
A. W.
A very nice place could do with a clean up though but was very busy and have everything you should need and at reasonable prices worth a visit the staff were very pleasant
M. D.
Do some really nice bits in there store. Cheap but very good quality furniture and bits and bobs can literally buy anything in there from food to plants to bits for your home or garden
E. M. H. C.
Some things are good.but i originally chose a coffee table from here. Arrived broken ordered another one that was broken too.tried ( that third time lucky idea) that was broken also.so that is When I went to oak furniture land.brilliant.( on the range side if you want curtains this is the ideal place to come & Other things.hence three stars.
S.
Good stock up, nice service, bit too less tills.
D. F.
I go to the Range most Fridays as my daughter has an appointment near by.
The bargains are brilliant but most of the staff are either not interested or rude. I have had several instances of rude staff and staff who are more interested in chatting to colleges when asking for advice etc.
The Coffee shop manager serves with a grimace on his face and ignores people waiting. This may sound like a hate review, but all these visits have been over a year of shopping at the Range.
J. J.
Lots of stock at reasonable prices. Well stocked with plants at the moment. Wide range of Garden furniture. Everything you need under one roof.
S. F.
For all the tidbits in life the Range is good. From garden to DIY to lighting, cushions, cards, kitchen and hobby craft stuff. But I wouldn't get anything that I expect to value at all as I feel the quality is lacking unless you find a brand you know.
S. B.
My experience of the Range was,as usual, excellent. The people who work there are always extremely helpful, carry out heavy items with no problems at all and are always very polite. I always recommend people go there. A huge array of items and I always spend more than I thought I would. Fantastic place😀
J. M.
Great value for money.
The place is packed to the brim merchandise and the aisles are quite narrow to navigate.
A.
Found it very cramped, aisles were narrow in places. Lady on the till was very friendly and helpful.
I. B.
Lot's of choice at very good prices. Have to have a good look and feel for quality, there are some cheap and nasty but overall a good shopping experience.
Friendly staff but not enough of them on the checkout. Had a long wait.
M. L.
I didn't look round the whole store as I was specifically after craft things. Plenty of variety in that department and good value. The cafe was quite expensive though, £4.10 for 2 teas.
H. K.
Fantastic store with great prices. Staff are very friendly. Tills are sometimes unmanned which can cause a slight wait time but usually the customer service makes up for this.
J. C.
this place helps feed & supply my rabbit & garden birds, good prices
M. T.
Good selection of products, great to go post-IKEA to pickup things like pictures, utensils and odd bits. Fairly reasonably priced. Is hit and miss though, bit like Home Bargains but for homeware.
L. B.
Visited whilst in the area on holiday. Disappointed as it was so cramped we couldn't see things properly and it seemed a bit dirty too. Loads of staff in the cafe doing nothing but chatting and didn't enjoy our coffee and cake as we do in our local store.
A. C.
Good service huge range.
H. “. H.
Purchased exactly what I was looking for, great price and no need to trape from shop to shop
M. 1.
massive shop with parking, Everything is available with good quality and fair price.
G. T.
Great products for less money than ASDA TESCO. Especially in all pet products. ATM they have dog beds that are less than half price and the pet food AMAZING PRICE'S
M.
Great floor staff, they are hard working and really helpful. Always been happy with the products ad well. Sometimes prices are missing from items which causes tailbacks st the tills.
N. M.
Abit too tight.. lack of space. Cramped but still a good shop.
J. M.
I love The Range, but I do find this particular store messy and disorganised. The arts and crafts section in particular needs to be laid out better. Having said that, they do stock an awful lot - you just have to make sure you have time to search for it!
R. H.
Often pop here for bedding, pet supplies (food & bedding), small job DIY stuff, paint, arts & crafts, home decor and kids toys. Clothing range limited to seasonal outdoors. Lighting dept. Curtain measuring etc. Good place to find a present for someone. Also do kitchen ware and storage :) Tills can sometimes be busy but hey, it's a popular place to shop!
J. C.
Boxes left in middle of aisle. Many were empty so no reason to have them lying around. No attempt to move them when I pointed out it was a safety hazard and no room for wheelchair or pushchair. (Im disabled ) The tall blond young man just walked off. I checked back to see if maybe he'd gone to delegate, but remained as it was previously.
Tills high -no accessible one open. Rat in the toilet-reported to staff who attempted to catch it. Toilets are not clean or checked for toilet roll/soap/working dryers.
Compared to a visit last December it would have been 4* then.
L. J.
All sort of things what you need in low prices. Best shop for looking some bargain furnitures and see in reality during this sad time.
a. T.
I like the Range....Good service these days...better than a few years ago...
N. C.
Love the range they have all the artist accessories i need and lots of other bits, great shop
M. C.
Has a lot of variety and well stocked. There's a strong chance you can find what you need for the home here. Unfortunately it's a building showing it's age now. Not the cleanest or well looked after. A lot of staff standing around not doing much.
j. a.
Hi had a great day at your Range Southampton and Mike Cleo was so good put our large items on a trolley and took them to the till ,then put them in our car ,must say very polite man made our day .
C. C.
Lots of stuff. Not what I wanted but it's am OK shop with wide ranging goods.
H. P.
Some of the plants looked in poor condition. Prices can be good but sometimes more than other places. Limited range of wine and beer making supplies.
A. ‘. J.
Lots of choice on a huge range of stock at good prices.
V. S.
The actual store & shopping is fine but could do with more assistants on the check out to avoid the long delay & queues.
m. m.
You can buy most things for the home and garden here, including bedding plants, bulbs etc thete is a small cafe so toy can rest and have a cuppa and snack, but BEWARE THE LONG LINES AT THE TILLS... this is a popular place
J. P.
Brilliant customer service. Fantastic selection of goods and food. Would recommend a visit here. Weekends are busy though!!!
C. T.
Very good Covid control. Staff on Fabrics, Curtains and Curtain tracks were most helpful. Very impressed.
C. D.
Overcrowded and horrific queuing in store. Couldn't find a couple of simple items (scouring pads white topped) but ok.
C. H.
Went for wall lights and only had lots of free standing lights. Had a lovely coffee in the cafe part which made up for it.
J. W.
Long queues, shop floor is usually just a bit random, it us set up oddly
But once you find your way around all is good
J. C.
Love the range brilliant shop for nice and exciting things for 🏠 x
D.
Wide range of goods, keen prices and helpful staff. I tend to use it for craft stuff and home DIY materials, but there's so much more there.
N. W.
Such a great variety of everything from crafts to gardening, xmas decorations are delightful and there is a little coffee shop to keep you in there bit longer
R. F.
Big shop and good selection but staff not very helpful
J. P.
Not much space in isles so if busy social distancing could be a problem but still have everything you could possibly need and nice to see Iceland there
N. B.
Good assortment of things for the household. Leave a few minutes before you need to, to allow time to get through the checkouts (they are hidden behind huge stacks of potential 'last minute buys' but they are there!).
C. C.
Good value products. Following government guidelines well. Sell some great Christmas decorations.
S. C.
Sometimes it difficult to find things and the staff don't always know. Ends up being a longer visit than necessary
T. V.
A whole Range of stuff and we like the Greggs home bakes.
R. A.
Lovely homewares. Good range of pet products. Prices are reasonable. Older staff are brilliant, youngsters can be a bit hit and miss though.
G. T. (. w.
Very impressive, I certainly recommend it 😊👍
S. A.
Great value for money
P. P.
Lots of different articles including some comestibles, furnitures, and paints and and utensils, kitchenware and a lot more, however not easy to browse and lights inside are dimmed. A place definitely worth visiting
N. G.
They got decent assortment of art supplies, I always find something for myself.
E.
I visited this store during Christmas so it was very busy, and the lines were up to 10 minutes long. I waited in line just to buy some cat treats with cash, and when I got to the front the cashier told me it was card only, and to go to the back of another line. There was no sort of signage or anything to show that line was for card only, so I ended up waiting another 10 minutes to pay with cash. There was no sort of apology and the cashier was dismissive
d.
Great selection of almost everything like DIY tools, great place for arts and crafts, house wares, pet foods and equipment, camping and outdoor clothing. The staff are very friendly and very busy, so stay patient people lol.
A. C.
I love the range for the amount of different products that they have. Other than the crafting area I have not really explored other areas. The range of different crafts is fantastic.
D. H.
This shop is bigger than the one here in Dorchester. Large variety of merchandise. Small but wel stocked cafe. Seasonal displays are great. Loved the Christmas one
S. l.
A little while ago I would have given this store 5 stars but it's changed a lot since then.. I don't feel the staff are as friendly or helpful anymore.. maybe it's just me 🤨
G. R.
Very busy today, but extra staff put on tools and the queue moves very quickly.
L. M.
Good cafe..... Seem to have most interior design, DIY, gardening for inside/out...... Very good Craft section, home ware & toiletries and basic pharmacy products. Lots to see, find most thing.... 👌🐘
K. Q.
Lots of good choice but a large area already taken from normal stock for Christmas and Halloween
C. M.
Brill almost anything your looking for especially for crafting and great ideas for the home at really good prices. There is a little coffee snack shop too. Free parking.
C. H.
throughout the years this place has been very handy for many different things they sale. only bad points it can be very busy with big ques and you always seem to get harassed by sales people outside the door.
J. H.
They have everything you could wish for, great store.
K. N.
Clue's in the name- the range of products on offer is immense. Relatively cheap, but still generally high quality products. Staff are friendly and helpful.
J. W.
I enjoy card craft and the range has a good supply also Iceland is now in this store wasn't opened yet when I visited.
G. W.
Lots of hardware, stationary, gardening and household items at good prices.
Coming soon an Iceland shop within this shop
G. G.
Some very good and well priced items but also a lot of poor quality junk
B. G.
Went here to get a few Christmas decorations. There was a lot of stock but couldn't find what I needed. There were only a few colours of tinsel and the like. They had a lot of Christmas lighting, with average prices.
M. L.
Good range of products (pun intended) but terrible tills. Queued for ages then was told that I was in the wrong queue. There weren't even many people there. Very inefficient.
S. C.
Now with Iceland, in store, you can pick up Dinner along with all the other things The Range sell that we love.
V. Z.
A few of the staff are unhelpful. About 3 and I have been shopping there for many years and I make sure that I avoid them and get another person to help me. No problems.
P. I.
Nice size and good priced items but it's a bit difficult to navigate as the signs arent great in the store and the shelves are so high you can't see over them at all.
R. S.
Lots of beautiful items for the home. Amazing craft section. Gets a bit packed are weekends.
P. E.
Too much stock crammed into the isles. They have a good variety of items there, and it's all reasonably priced, just a little too cramped in some parts of the store, but I will use it again.
A. G.
Aisles are not very wide in this Range, not really a mobility friendly store.
Also, if The Range were to play the original and best versions of the music they pipe, their customers would find it a far more enjoyable experience
M. H.
You need to search. Layout impedes wheelchairs. No wheelchair baskets available. Despite that we like shopping there.
P. R.
Wide range of very reasonably priced goods but this place never seems to have enough checkouts open despite there being staff everywhere.
C. B.
As good as always, really helpful staff, easy shopping experience, competitive prices
W. W.
Had everything you ever needed. From food to garden things. Kitchen appliances to clothes. Brilliant
C. U.
Always plenty to look at as prices are very competitive, often to the distraction of what you go in for! Well stocked and diverse, it has most things for the house. A good Range.....
S. C.
I love coming here for ideas and to see what arts and crafts they have in store. You can find pretty much anything for your home at cheap prices.
K. O.
Plenty of stock, good variety, clean store, easy parking, slightly difficult to navigate the checkouts as they are dark and cramped but otherwise a great store.
K. M.
Good range of items household and pet items. Very few tills usually open, allow time as queues tend to be long.
M. K.
Good range of stock and items at reasonable prices.
D. H.
One of the better Range locations however queue was long even when it was relatively quiet
M. O.
Was hoping to look at garden furniture that is on their website. Unfortunately there was far less choice in store.
C. S.
Just like its name, the range of products is amazing.
I wish i found this store a long time ago
C. M.
Managed to get what I went there for...
J. A.
Loved it but they were changing the shop around so a bit all of the place
D. G.
Brought something in the shop when we got it home it was demaged they replaced next day no hassle very good service.
h. h.
Love the range ! Has all the things you need to decorate your home or start a new hobby ! Great customer services
T. G.
I love your shop it has very low prices and very good for value .I love all the different items you have that I haven't seen in other shops
M. M.
The Range is fantastic if you are looking to buy furniture and accessories for your home i have bought most of my furniture from here and there's a nice coffee shop which serves hot food and cakes and the staff are always happy to help you
B. C.
Plenty on all shelves both stores
F. H.
Great place for a quick shopping
D. S.
Many varied products to choose from. Often has item needed but have to look for it. Most staff friendly but some seem "not wanting to be there".
A. S.
I like to go to your store ...but not so happy about 100 fine when i had been in store all time and used cafe and then waited 20 mins in queue to pay ....been today but closely watched the time ....
K. W.
Love this shop .but went in yesterday bought a few essentials ..asked a lady who worked there who was wearing a mask if they had any swimming pools .I could see she didn't want to talk found her very rude ."No we don't " then walked off .so I thought I'd go and look for myself and yes there was an isle of them ..she was really rude and arrogant .
P. W.
Excerllent range of homewares and hardware. Great price point for tools and all seem of good quality( none failed on me yet )
J. M.
Useful for home stuff...but not as cheap as the middle aisles of Aldi or Lidl.
M. H.
The shop itself sells a wide range of goods and are relatively cheap although maybe not of the best quality. I would however add that the cafe does not serve the best food i have ever tasted and the choice is not that varied so I would not recommend it as the best place to eat.
R. h.
Great with the 40% DISCOUNT
M. J.
I like the Range. I can find everything I like in one shop. Most staff are always happy to help you including running around the shop if something is not on the shelf that you're looking for.
M. K.
It is ok but always seems to lack enough staff for really busy days. And be careful as parking only limited time and you will be ticketed by a private company.
S. B.
Could do with a bit if a revamp but otherwise a great selection and very good staff! Tills can always be a bit of a nightmare so don't bother if you're in a rush
r. h.
Good quality products and services and reasonable prices
K. P.
Great crafting range of products.small but excellent cafe.
Very good range of home and garden sections.Beautiful indoor and outdoor plants....
S. R.
Apart from the male on the door sending me to the other end of the store when customer service is at the front door!! Service at customer service was good and efficient
O.
Great service, big range of products at the Range. How ironically fun. I recommend going as not only there's good stuff there's also good people. ♡
K. G.
Great bargains to be had
J. m.
Lots of stuff, this and that , bits n pieces, all sorts. Free parking with a maximum parking stay of two hours. Friendly staff. Garden centre, and cafe inside.
J. J.
Very busy with big queues but it moved quick as all tills was open
O. D.
I have mixed feelings about this store. The products that they have on offer are quite good but the after sales service is not good and very much we have your money now go away!
C. Q.
Hard to follow layout but lots of lovely things to buy as always. Spotless new toilets too.
P. B.
It feels alive! Personnel very friendly and very helpful. Cafeteria near, clean with tasty products, served on request just...perfect.
D. C.
Love this shop, has so much to look at/buy. Household dept has bedding etc & kitchenware has everything you need. Love the Christmas dept.
S. A.
Always find it difficult to find what I am looking for. If I ran the place I would close it for a couple of days and start again from scratch. There doesn't seem to be a layout strategy. Good value for money when you do find it though.
D. C.
Interesting stock and has a wide variety of plants and now also stock Iceland foodstuff.
R. E.
Seems a bit badly arranged as took a lot of effort to find what we needed. Also I was expecting customer numbers to be limited but was far busier than I had anticipated
T. Y.
A lot of products on sale, ranging from arts & crafts to indoor and outdoor equipment, all at decent prices. Carpark is free + a small cafe inside.
Y. L.
lovely place to shop for various product, but the interior decoration is a bit tired,
G. S.
Very friendly and caring staff, good prices, very good quality service
T. V.
Good for crafts, children's party and small birthday gifts. Some attractive tableware and plants.
J. G. W.
Friendly staff. There is an Iceland in the range now making it a very convenient place to shop for everything.
H. M.
One of my favourite shops - as far as my purse is concerned it's good value for money - very reasonably priced. I may go in the shop for one thing and come out with a dozen !!!
g. p.
A great place to shop got everything you need for your home 😀
E. F.
Good service. Disappointed with how other visiting customers fail to follow the one way flow of traffic and racing through the parking area.
W. H.
Shelving was soon tightly packed at front of shop was struggle to get through to tills. Good job I didn't have a trolley as no chance
