On 05.06.22, I was driving along Haxby Road, York which is a 40mph road; a HT van appeared very close behind me and did attempt to overtake but there was oncoming traffic. HT driver was quite annoyed and he slumped back behind me. Why would a driver choose to overtake when now in a 30mph zone and with a roundabout about 50 meters in front?; mmm ... poor driving skills? I emailed HT and their reply was that “Whilst he did not agree with your version of events and described more an act of frustration than bullying”. HT driver doesn't like to adhere to speed limits which cause him "frustration"! Update ... exchanging emails concerning this matter does not prevent me from posting a legitimate review. There are too many drivers with poor driving skills; on 05.05, your driver was one such driver

We recently bought a new 50' Samsung TV from Herbert Todd - their advice was brilliant and saved us some money. The best thing was the delivery, installation and set-up of the TV and taking away the old TV for recycling - Highly recommend. It's also nice dealing with a good local business.

First Class Customer Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! After being told from Curry’s that it would be pretty difficult to find a fridge freezer for a shed and the sales assistant couldn’t help us. We left totally bamboozled 🤔 So, we telephoned Herbert Todd and the lady instantly told us they had two makes to choose from. Within an hour and a half of leaving Curry’s we drove to Herbert Todd had one ordered, paid for and delivered the same week. In fact delivery was TODAY and it’s absolutely spot on! Thank you Jo and thank you Herbert Todd 🤙

I’ve bought from Todds for years and I always call them for electrical work at home too, so they were the logical choice when I was looking for a new kitchen :) I knew I needed more storage so I had an idea what I wanted and Mel, the designer, had some brilliant suggestions for other features so the whole plan came together really easily! The kitchen display in their showroom gave me all the reassurance I needed about quality and the range of choices available was huge! I chose a kitchen made from real wood and there was a fantastic choice of modern beautiful colours! We had a delay in the fitting due to COVID-19 but both Mel (from Todds) and Nick from the fitters we’re in touch the whole time and communication was great! The taking out of the old kitchen was done in a day and the preparation (which included a lot of plastering!) was smooth and problem free. The fitting process was very logical and methodical and I was kept very well informed of timescales and the ‘next job on the list’. Mike the fitter was brilliant, very conscientious and a hard worker. He also made a couple of practical suggestions which I hadn’t thought of and which proved to be very useful indeed! My kitchen is now very tidy and organised and very easy to keep clean, especially with the oven being at mid-height! Brilliant! There were a few snags to address at the end, but they were handled quickly and easily and I am delighted! My new kitchen is beautiful! It feels spacious and modern and light and I love it! Thank you :)

Didn't actually end up buying anything at this visit but had a good chat with the sales guys in there about various bits and can only say thank you for the fantastic advice, will be going back later in the week. Actually felt like I mattered as a customer there, some places you go to you are just a number and that in itself is worth far more!

Just been to Herbert Todd after going to Curry’s who didn’t have what I wanted in stock. So glad they didn’t as the service at Todd’s was exceptional. Really knowledgeable and helpful. Had what I wanted and cheaper than Curry’s. Will definitely shop there again.

I went in looking for a freezer for the garage. Upon arrival where were no pushy sales person. After looking around for about five minutes, a sales person asked if they could help. I explained I was researching the brand so he gave a bit of background, which was consistent with what I had found online. The price was inline with other retailers. Overall a good shopping experience.

Yes this shop looks great inside since they made it up and decided to move from Walmgate York as the store in Walmgate was getting old and outdated. I once went down thinking I could still pay at Walmgate I got down there and found a note as we wasn’t made aware I told Mr Sims when I got back that you had shut up the Walmgate shop and set up another store in Monk Cross but still it’s a lot smarter location and building it’s a great job you’ve have done I did personally found it was much closer to get to in walmgate but it wasn’t a very good location for it to be and well hidden there mr Sims found it easy when he went in the taxi a few times. I usually go in and like to pay the shop a visit at the end of each Month say the 29th or 30th to pay in cash the Monthly payments but for quite some time with COVID there has been days where I would have to ring and make payments over the phone with them I have arrived at the shop and wrote the number down to ring and this to pay for 3 items that we rent from Herberts the T.V, Fridge Freezer, and Washer Dryer 2 of these items have needed work doing to them and that’s why it’s so popular for us to use and rent electrical goods from Herberts as you can get them fixed by the same company who you rent the electrical goods from so very handy in that respect for us.Herbert’s will always call out an engineer but can take a while for the engineer to call out maybe 2 or 3 days if I told them about a problem we are having with say the washer/ dryer with no extra charge put on and they’ll take away any electrical items that are no good for us or no longer work to replace with new ones for them to repair or maybe to even scrap themselves.

Had a number of things from here over the years and never had a problem . This time we purchased a Fisher & Paykel hob and oven . The hob great but fan on oven running for two hours after use . Contacted HT who got the manafactuars to come out and it was no better . Got back in touch with HT and a new oven arrived within two weeks . Unfortunately one of the kitchen units was damaged while they were installing it . Contacted HT again and they sent a joiner to fix. I would definitely recommend HT if anything goes wrong there after service is second to none.
