Fantastic team - a credit to the high street.
Our TV died on a Friday night, did a quick bit of research online and popped in to see them in town (on my bike - with the kids). We don't need an epic TV... mostly CBeebies at the mo. They listened to what I was after, didn't try and upsell me unnecessarily and within a few minutes it was all sorted.
Collection was easy - popped back later that day with the car and they wheeled the telly to.the edge of the footstreets area and helped load it.
Absolute high street shop brilliance. Dylan and his team are superb. Better than online price and got it same day.

Bought several things from Richer Sounds since moving to York. We had one in Leeds but I never visited it, I imagine it's just as good.
It's small inside but it's always worth asking and speaking to the team as they keep more in stock then they display. The team are really polite, friendly and remember a face. They give good advice, and you can tell they want to sell you something that fits your needs as opposed to what costs the most. Class leading warranty and price matching make it a no brainer to support this high street chain with well trained and knowledgeable staff.

Exceptional service from Kevin. We went in the day before looking for an entry level vinyl turntable and received exceptional advice. Kevin was extremely patient and listened attentively to our needs before making a range of recommendations. I spent a whole afternoon in the listening room with Kevin. Nothing was too much trouble as we sampled CD, playe5s, amplifiers, turntables, speakers and streamers etc. Having selected out ideal system, we then explored the impact of upgraded optical connections, along with premium speaker cables. Our budget was £3k and we ended up spending £4.5k. This was not due to pressure or up-selling, but a result of making informed choices based upon our listening experience. Kevin is a legend both in the store and in terms of the after-sales help and advice he has given me by email, and on the phone. So, I spent more than I intended but the listening experience is superb and I consider that I got good value. Well done Kevin.

Just had a great demo session with Kevin at Richer Sounds York. He was very knowledgeable and had a great rapport making it feel very individual to us. He provided the CD player and Amplifier and speakers we had asked to listen to but also provided some other options which we had not considered having asked us several questions to get a real feel for what we were looking for. We ended up going for Kevin’s recommendations but we felt under absolutely no pressure whatsoever and we made our choice having listened to several of our own music selections and deciding this was the best system for us. Fantastic service from Kevin instore. Went in Saturday afternoon to look for a TV, AV amp, Speakers etc and after a chat with Kevin he selected a system to meet my requirements and explained how to put it together.
Kevin then called the following week to check it had gone together and was working fine then gave advice on how to improve my set up.

I got caught in torrential rain while standing outside of this shop so I went inside to ask if they knew anywhere nearby that I could buy an umbrella and they said 'Right here!' and they gave me a brand new umbrella completely free of charge. Bought a Smart TV from Richersounds York this week. Dealt with by the manager Dylan who was very knowledgeable and helpful. I am not particularly IT savvy but he took plenty of time to explain things in a way that even a technophobe like me could understand. He even carried the boxed up TV through the streets of York to my car. Brilliant!
I am very pleased with my purchase, and have contacted Dylan a couple of times since with queries which he resolved immediately.
A couple of years ago I bought a Humax box from them and had very good customer service and am pleased that the excellent level of service has continued.

Visited here yesterday to look at soundbars. The sales assistant Paul couldn't have been more helpful. He showed me all the options and explained the difference between the different products available. Despite the fact I didn't buy anything, he was still happy to show me products. One of the better shops for customer service when things go wrong, in this case a firmware update problem, which is now resolved. They went the extra mile by paying my car park charge, while I had to wait for an upload, and gave me a free ethernet cable which should prevent a repeat of the problem. If only all shops were as good as richer sounds!

I can honestly say that my experience at Richer Sounds York was the best customer service/experience I have ever had in my life (that includes when I have visited the Asia and the USA) I was looking to invest in a home cinema/ AV system and was very intimidated by the choice and wide range, however from day one I was introduced to Kevin (who needs a special mention) as nothing was too much hassle or effort for him. Kevin was very patient explaining the different features and put me at ease with no time pressures and explained technical terms in simple language bringing the features to life for me and enabling me to understand what was important to me. Kevin set up various systems so I could listen to them as a lot of the decision making process is personal preference. The set up process takes some time and effort but Kevin did not mind changing through the conponents even though the shop was busy to make sure I got the right product, even when I had made up my mind he showed me one more system and this was to help me put my mind at rest that I had picked the right system. He wasn't trying to up sell me as it was the same price! I had a modest budget and Kevin was respectful of that and didn't talk down to me because of that or see me as less important.
Whilst I was in the shop I also experienced other customers having the same level of service whether it was with a small piece of cable and blu ray player or a high end system the store seemed to make everyone feel appreciated which is very rare in retail at present.
The after sales service has been excellent also with Kevin even phoning me to ask how everything was and solving problems such as why I wasn't getting certain sound which Kevin spent hours on to find out I was using a DVD and not a blu Ray (unfortunately he can't solve my errors).
I can not recommend Richer Sounds York enough and would suggest that when searching for a TV, sound system or any related products that you do not settle for the service of any other company and experience the "Kevin Richer sound experience" Richer sounds also price match and do not have a internet price bias so you really do not have an excuse not to use Richer sounds.
Once again thank you so much Kevin I am looking forward to hours of enjoyment with my new purchase.

Absolutely first class service.
Recently I went to another Richer Sounds but to be honest did not have a great experience. Without dwelling on it too much I got the impression that I was not really wanted in the shop. Half way through asking for advice the salesman left me and went to another couple who wanted a TV and just left me stood there. This went on for some time until I complained and then he sent someone else to me. He also did not seem like he was interested. I asked how the the other couple took precedence over me and I was told that I had been there too long. I had been in the shop for 1 1/2 hours but I explained that I would be making a purchase but did not want to buy the wrong item - I wanted to be happy with my purchase. When I left I actually apologised for taking so long. It wasn't until I got in my car that I thought to myself - what am I doing apologising - he should have apologised for the their service (or rather lack of)
Anyway. I then went to Richer Sounds (York) and was met by Joe. Within minutes the experience was totally different. He listened to what I was looking for then took me to the demo room to show me some speakers, amps etc. Everything that he did was above and beyond what I expected and the service was impeccable. Full credit to him.
There were so many different things that he did that I would be writing for an hour to list them all but needless to say I am very happy. It was just all the little things that he did that amounted to an overall great experience. His friendly manner coupled with his great knowledge and eagerness to make sure the customer left with exactly what they wanted was fantastic.
Even when I had got home he was still on the other end of the phone giving 'set up advice' and sourcing manuals etc
Well done Richer Sounds (York) - you are now my go to shop for my audio and visual requirements.

Recently bought an Av receiver, speakers and new TV fro Richersounds in York. Kevin was very helpful and knowledgeable. I spent nearly a morning listening to systems being demo'd before ordering. At that demo, there was a problem with one of the Denon receivers. As a result I ordered a Pioneer. However, in the subsequent weeks I asked if we could have another go with the Denon, Kevin duly obliged and got it going under my required configuration for another demo. As a result I changed my order to the Denon. I'm really happy with my purchase, and Kevin was very professional helpful and supportive throughout.

I had previously purchased a Humax PVR from Richer Sounds. I was served by store manager, Dylan and found the whole process fantastic from start to finish. So when the time came to build my first real home cinema I knew where to go!
I did a little research, chose my equipment and called the store. I spoke to an extremely helpful Chris and all the items were reserved and no payment taken until I was ready to pick it all up. In the meantime, James from RS did a free site survey just to check everything I had ordered was going to work in my chosen room.
My set-up required some electrical work to be carried out. James advised on this and booked an electrician for me. He also advised on choosing a different Amp (Sony STRDN-1050) that would work better with my chosen speakers (Q Acoustics 2000i) and recommended speaker cables and lengths. This site visit was invaluable.
I booked James to help with the install and to optimize my system. Within two weeks of my initial phone call, two electricians along with James (who brought all my equipment from the store) arrived and the work began. Just after lunch everything was complete!
The work that James and the electricians carried out was excellent. I don't have ANY exposed cables going to my projector (Ben Q w1070+) or any of the speakers. The rear speakers were attached to the wall and appear to 'float' beautifully.
The overall experience far surpassed anything I was expecting. The staff I dealt with - Gavin, Chris and James were fantastic. The electrical and cabling work was swiftly arranged and expertly carried out with zero fuss.
In short, I have an amazing Home Cinema system that looks even better than I ever thought it would. I also have the piece of mind of great value five year supercare and the option to phone or call into the shop for advice and help whenever I need it.
I cannot recommend Richer Sounds enough.

His knowledge was amazing and he was extremely approachable. As a woman, I was also really impressed that Kevin didn't direct the whole conversation towards my husband (which so often happens when shopping for tvs, cars, etc.!) and I felt really included in the discussion. This is, first and foremost, a store for audiophiles. You wont find second rate equipment anywhere in the store, but the prices will reflect that. However, there are exceptions to the rule. Sony's excellent true wireless noise cancelling earbuds are much cheaper than prices on multiple online and physical retailers (the only cheaper offer was at CEX, and that's secondhand!).
What you will find is top class headphones, speakers, TVs and record players. Can very much reccomend to people interested in high class audio equipment.

We made a call to the store to enquire about a sound bar we call into the store the next day and spoke to Paul. He gave us a demonstration on a Cambridge sound bar and Subwoofer. We purchased this and Paul took it to the car park which was 5/10 mins away.
How ever I set it up later that day and the Sub would not pair with the sound bar. I contacted Cambridge on the help line number and left a message. I sent an email to Cambridge but got no contact from anybody. I called Cambridge the next day and emailed again still no contact from them. So approx 1530/1600 hrs I contacted Richar Sounds and spoke to Paul . He acted quickly and called me back to confirm they would send a replacement unit out and collect the old one. As it was late in the afternoon of Wednesday I was pleasantly surprised that the new unit arrived at approx 10am the next morning.
I plugged the new one in and all is well. That's what customer service is all about. Cambridge Audio should be ashamed of there service.
We have purchased three televisions a 5.1 system and this sound bar from Richarsounds and we will continue to buy in the future.

We bought our 75" Philips TV a few days ago from RIcher Sounds York, and we could not be happier. A few phone conversations with Dylan to try and narrow down the selection of TV units, followed by a phone order in which we sorted out finance, delivery and installation in under 30' (actual phone time less than 10'). On delivery day, the two-men team arrived in the middle of the three-hour slot, and put it in our preferred room (observing social distancing). Then, a few hours later, James Taylor (without a Quartet this time) and Kevin installed and set it up while meticulously following our indications for set height and placement. All in all, a perfect experience.
We have bought most of our AV equipment from Richer Sounds York. Due to the pandemic, I am very much missing the one-to-one experience I used to get in the shop: hours listening to different combinations of speakers and mini Hi-Fis with Matt, or trying wireless headphones on, choosing satellite and centre speakers, finding the slimmest possible AV receiver... really looking forward to their re-opening soon.
