Within the last 20 months I have had the pleasure of purchasing new audio equipment from the Sound Organisation.
The service and advise I have been given by Matt has been outstanding. I recently visited the shop in York to have a demo of new speakers - Spendor D7.2, and turntable - Rega Planar 8 .
I decided on purchasing these 2 items along with Atacama furniture.
Once everything had arrived Matt said he would come to my home to install the audio . As I live in Kendal in the Lake District I thought this was excellent service.
A date and time was arranged for Matt to visit me.He gave me advice on what speaker cable to use and how to set up the turntable too .
I will definitely be using The Sound Organisation in future . Thank you so much

I have been a customer of The Sound Organisation since 1992. Throughout this time, they have consistently provided excellent services and support as, step by step, we have built and upgraded my system. I have been delighted at every step along the way and highly value not only their knowledge, skills, and advice but also their friendliness.

Whilst researching a new sound system I came across the Sound Organisation and decided to travel nearly 2hrs to visit the store. It was well worth the travel. The greeting from Mathew was warm and welcoming. Whilst I already had in mind what I was looking for, Mathew offered genuine advice without without being pushy. He was clearly very knowledgeable, new his business well and nothing was too much trouble. I left more than satisfied with my purchases. I will certainly return and would highly recommend their service to anyone.

I cannot rate this place highly enough... David very kindly travelled down to Norwich to install my new system and did a fantastic, thorough job. Not only does the Sound Organisation sell the highest quality products, they also represent for me the best kind of customer service: one that is trusted, friendly and drawing upon a vast pool of knowledge and long experience. A real pleasure to deal with!

A huge thank you to Bob and John at The Sound Organisation in York for restoring my Arcam 9 CD player, and Arcam 10 and 10P amps to their former glory. They sound as good as they did when I first bought them back in 1998. Wonderful! Your extremely helpful and knowledgeable approach, together with your persistence and skill, when the fault on the Arcam 10P amp wasn't immediately obvious, were just what was needed. Bob's advice re the new cable was most helpful too - my system sounds brilliant! I have no hesitation in recommending The Sound Organisation for superb customer service, excellent advice, knowledge and skill and very competitive pricing. Thank you so much!

The Sound Organistion , what can I say first of all Matthew was absolutely brilliant, great advice and very patient and polite. I changed my mind a couple of times but Matthew was great he even came to install my new system. I dealt with him form start to finish. I definitely recommend the Sound Organistion They sell all the best gear and offer a great service.

Went for a demo of some Linn speakers and Hamish and his team gave me the time and space to listen to a large number of my tracks inviting me to bring my own NAS. I felt under no pressure and the atmosphere was always relaxed. Once the purchase was made Hamish came up with his son and set up the speakers and took my LP12 away for a fettle and upgrade. It hasn't sounded so good in a long time. I would recommend them without hesitation for their knowledge and service.

Hamish and his excellent team have looked after my husband Ian’s Hi-Fi for the past 33 years and I have enjoyed cooking for Hamish on his visits to our various homes to set up the system.
I have warmed to the B&W 802 speakers but still remember my initial shock coming home from work to find the “monsters” in my front lounge.
After 8 years of houses with a dedicated music room we have downsized to a smaller home and they are back in the front lounge. I am trying to persuade him to exchange them for more modest ones and look forward to seeing Hamish again when the best H-Fi shop reopens.

After nearly 30 years of craving a high end turntable the opportunity finally came along. I’d had brief dealings with Sound Org a few years back when I wanted some headphones and found them to be polite, friendly and helpful. They are conveniently placed near York city centre so I thought I’d give them a ring to see what they could do. I got Bob on the phone and he gave me a time slot that very afternoon and lined up a couple of turntables for me to listen to, along with a nice cup of coffee to help me relax. I took a few of my own records in and we sat and played them, discussing what I thought between tracks. We were in there a couple of hours and I ended up with the latest version of the Linn which set this ball rolling all those years ago.
So, a few weeks go by and I’m now contemplating a new pair of speakers to make the most of my new turntable. Another quick chat with Bob on the phone and I’m booked in for lunchtime the next day. Another relaxed couple of hours spent listening to several pairs of speakers. Bob expertly listened to what I had in mind and my thoughts on each pair, fine tuning it down to a lovely pair of Bowers and Wilkins. Strangely, at no point did he really feel like a salesman. More a friend trying to guide me towards what I really wanted. With that in mind it was a pleasure to welcome him into my home and have him talk me through how he was setting up my new equipment. Equipment I should say that I am extremely pleased with. I could have picked something off the internet, maybe saved a few quid, but having the knowledge and expertise to guide me really paid off.
I’m not sure what else I might need for my stereo system in the future but I know who the first call will be to. Thanks Sound Org, thanks Bob!
