Apppointing EMR Architecture was the best decision we made when we started to renovate our Victorian home. From our initial meeting onwards, the team was fully committed to the project and constantly coming up with great ideas, from creative design elements to practical advice on energy efficiency or layout. Emilie and her team went to great lengths to understand our needs and tastes and to tweak design ideas to suit us. Once we started on the build, their approach to project management was simply amazing: always responsive, frequently on site, on the lookout for any issues that came up or opportunities to make improvements. We couldn't have asked for more and this approach was absolutely critical to the success of the project. It made all the difference during uncertain times (pandemic, with lots of supply challenges). We felt we were in good hands as Emilie guided us expertly through the timelines of when to choose specific fittings to ensure the project ran smoothly. Emilie introduced us to lots of fantastic suppliers. She dedicated lots of time to helping us make choices that work aesthetically and practically and made sure we got good value for money. Looking back, the project was surprisingly stress free, and this is all down to EMR. We had fun working with a team that is so collaborative and passionate about what they do and we are absolutely thrilled with the outcome. Our home is perfect for now but if we ever do another project, we will definitely work with EMR Architecture again!

I absolutely recommend Emilie and her team at EMR Architecture. Emilie designed and project managed our house renovation, which we moved into in June 18. We completely brought down our mid-terrace Victoria house and rebuilt it from scratch, lowering floors, moving ceilings, adding a room, and changing the layout to maximise space and living areas for our family. Emilie helped us design the perfect layout and gave us great suggestions and interior design advice. We're lucky that our tastes matched so we rarely disagreed on anything! She negotiated good prices for fixtures and fittings too. I wouldn't hesitate to hire her and her team for another project in the future.

EMR Design managed our home renovation from inception to completion in its entirety. This consisted of all of the architectural drawings, planning permission, the tender process for contractors, project management of the build, and up to interior design advice. Emilie was the consummate professional in all phases of the project. Her great experience, architectural knowledge, and creative/original ideas made our dream home come to life, with additional & innovative twists. In the design phase of the project, Emilie brought her vast and intricate knowledge of London houses and her great architectural thinking to the table to help us arrive at a unique layout that brought our vision to life and maximised living and storage space. In the construction phase, Emilie was excellent at managing the entire process and had a great balance of managing all the stakeholders involved (including us). She manages to draw on multiple styles, being firm (but fair) with suppliers when needed, but also being compromising when it makes the most sense to ensure the outcome was optimal. Emilie's overall project management was impeccable. She managed to deliver the whole project on time and helped us achieve more than we thought with the budget we had set. She strikes a great balance of helping us find the right balance in terms of value for money, spending where it matters and saving where we can. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Emilie was a pleasure for us to work with. She was very responsive, gave great advice, respected our needs and design directions, kept us up to date always and was ultimately someone we trusted as if it was us on site. We would most definitely use Emilie for any other project we have in the future!!

I literally could not recommend Emilie and her team more. EMR Architecture helped us on a 12 month renovation project on our six bed house on Howard’s Lane in Putney. The house was effectively taken back to brick and there was substantial structural work involved. Emilie provides a complete end-to-end service, on both the architectural/interior design side and on project management. I have been very sceptical in the past about the value of project managers on domestic building projects, but Emilie was worth every penny. Her design team bring considerable French flare to the design and their ability to maximise light and space within the house is extraordinary. Furthermore, Emilie also combines her design skills with a real sense of practicality, which is vital for large families like ours. On the construction side, she has built very strong relationships with the builders with which she works – Extend, which worked on our project, were fabulous and combined brilliantly with EMR. The result of the build (as you will see on EMR Architecture’s website) is extraordinary, and has given us the family home we always dreamed of.

As a contractor Emilie gives us clear plans to work from and I would say one of her main strengths is the communication between the client and us the building contractor. When we first decided to develop our house I spoke to two or three different architects. Our refurbishment project was certainly not an exciting or challenging one but Emilie's willingness and can-do attitude was refreshing. The whole job was completed so quickly and without any fuss from drawing up plans to getting our planning permission granted.
