Unbelievably helpful & friendly bunch of staff. Over the phone their tone was warm & if you're thinking of ringing them for a food parcel just make sure you have a couple of details to hand. Although I was arranging the food parcel for someone else whilst they were tied up in work, I was a little unprepared & had to make the woman on the other end wait for an answer on pretty much every question, she was very patient & understanding, think her name was Julie. They asked for full name, address including postcode, date of birth & the number of people the parcel was intended for & their ages, I was given a 14 digit code which I gave in when I collected. Despite this food bank not covering the district neither my friend or myself live or work in, it was however open for collection at the time & appeared to be the closest to where we were working. That wasn't an issue & didn't delay the help we needed. We weren't denied any of their services due to a postcode, which was a welcome relief. Its probably worth mentioning that all individuals are limited to a maximum of 3 food parcels in a six month period, presumably to reduce misuse of their service & to prevent dependency. Staff were very nice & welcoming. I left with 4 bags full of tins, fresh fruit & veg, cereal, biscuits etc. When my friend saw her boot full of food, she cried, saying it was a huge weight lifted from her. Thank you to all the people who give their time etc to help others out, my friend & I are forever grateful. The only things they didn't provide were washing up liquid, chilled & frozen goods. Myself & colleagues topped the bags up with these items. Collection was from the front of Hope Baptist Church on Derwen Rd, which is not the same location given on the street map, but its literally right next to it. Try to go early as they can offer much more!

Don’t believe these places should exist in the 21st century but if they have to these are the best people to run it. Friendly and thankful for donations.
