The problem is need a passcode, which is difficult to get from the commitee members. Last time I was there, I had to wait outside for about 15minutes to get in, because I didn't have the passcode

Apart of the Durham Islamic Isoc facility. Not independent mosque !

Plenty of space, sufficient facilities and perfect for locals, long-term or short-term.
It's a shame you have to walk through a pub to get the actual masjid, you would have thought a prestigious university such as the likes of Durham would have done better.
But that's not not the fault of those who are in charge of the day to day running of the masjid so it can't lose any stars for that.
Bear in mind that as students mainly use this site, congregational prayers aren't regular.

Assalamu alaikum (Peace be on you). This is the only mosque/prayer hall in Durham. The entrance to the mosque is through the side entrance of the Dun Cow Inn (Pub) which is not ideal for a mosque, but this is the only place available at the moment. Friday prayers (Jumua) are held here and also during Ramadan Iftaar and Taraweeh prayers are held here. Eid prayers are held in nearby halls or community centres which are booked by the islamic society so that more people can attend. The main entrance to the prayer room is controlled by a code lock door. the code has to be obtained either from the people attending the prayer hall or from the management of the Islamic society. Jumua prayer starts at 1:15pm. Usually dhuhr prayer is held ~1:30 pm or so.

Assalāmu Alaikum,
I travelled to Durham from York and needed to pray my dhuhr and asr. After a long search and much to my delight, I found the prayer room, (after a few funny looks from the a pub goers). Unfortunately i found the door had a code. Of course it's understandable, for safety and security reasons, but I think there should be some way of contacting a representative of the Isoc to give access, especially to travellers. Maybe a sign on the door with a phone number to ring, or even 'opening/Salah times' so people know when they are able to come.
May Allāh accept our prayers and our intentions!
