t. g.Always a friendly welcome, you can read a paper take part in the activities and have lunch with fellow locals of the area, plenty of music played on the cd radio player from the wars years to the 70s as a general guide.
S. c.An outstanding community centre on Millman Street, Bloomsbury. It has a packed programme of activities for all of the community. There is lunch Monday to Friday and have clubs, groups and activities from flower arranging to drama and other creative and stimulating activities.
A. O.Staff and volunteers are super-amazing at this place!! They looked out for mum for over 3 years and she was lucky to have this facility within her midst. She's unable to attend these days, but sorely misses the activities especially the trips to the seaside. They once brought the production team for Jersey Boys to come and sing for them. Mum still talks about that till now.
Beware of councils/local authorities charging an arm & a leg to transport your loved ones to this exceptional place. They will bill it as though THEY are providing this service. They don't; and are just trying to piggyback off the supreme service this independent charity provides.
But I can't talk this place up enough. Plus, it does so much for its community with so little resources. I'm still amazed how they keep going!!
G. J.Well run and friendly place with elderly people well catered for. Not so great for us younger retirees during the day but there is a good selection of stuff going on throughout the week. The Line Dancing on Wednesdays and Water Aerobics at Nuffield Sports club on the corner of Mecklenburg Square on Fridays are both very popular.
