Reviews of Oxford & Cambridge Club
I. W.
Magnificently furnished and appointed in lavish style. Such craftsmanship and detail everywhere you look. Excellent food and service.
U. C.
A member's only club steeped in history and traditions. Excellent intellectual discussions to be had at the club table.
A. P.
Impressive building and a very nice venue for receptions / event dinners
H. N.
Excellent ambience and service. First class food and a cultural gem.
J. K.
If you know, you know.
G. M.
Fantastic place full of chatacter plus great location. Must be a member or guest.
G.
Select members only gentlemen's club. Guests can be signed in if suitably attired. Mobile phone usage not permitted, of course.
M. A.
Good food and classy atmosphere.
D. M.
Elegant and classy, it was quite an experience to visit! Fabulous libraries. Crackling fire and elegant waiting staff appearing out-of-nowhere and offering coffee or hot chocolate. Fluffy carpets, antique furniture and massive paintings. Good old England...
G. W.
Anyone who ever schooled at either Oxford or Cambridge, however briefly, feels compelled to loudly mention this information within 90 seconds of entering any room.
Imagine a whole club of them :/
J. T.
A wonderful oasis of calm and taste. The buildings are very fine and beautifully maintained; the staff are courteous and professional. The food is good, and very reasonably priced and the wine is terrific and always at a good price. I go there whenever I am in London and it is a treat every time.
A. F.
Delightful. Was better when the cheeseboard was left at table, and before the subscription classes were changed. A dangerous number of what can only be described as "youths" can appear to congregate. Retire to the libraries, and press a bell (not if you're impatient). Billiard room was opened by S. Fry, but apparently from that is worth a pot. Wine list excellent in scope, and price.
G. B.
Club with fancy name which is most of the value. The front desk staff are terribly rude and very condescending, but the rest of the staff are quite nice.
Food is decent but when surrounded with very lavish surroundings, you would think the quality would be a touch better for the price.
P. W.
It's my club and it's amazing.
M. C.
You won't believe it; I have to say thank you to all the staff at the Oxford & Cambridge, I arranged for my friend to have his stag night dinner here in the main dining room the service and food were excellent. All of my friends are actors and performers, so I was a bit worried that we might get to a bit too loud, however, we had a great night and what a location with all that history and the pictures of the night are great.
K. T.
Stayed overnight in one of the single bedrooms. Amenities were good and wireless access to the Internet was easy to set up. I also appreciated the early delivery of the Financial Times to my room in the morning. Staff at the club are friendly and always helpful. Enjoyed the snooker evening for members.
C. R.
Treated to dinner by a former boss. Good company, lovely food and wine and so nice to eat in a civilised place where one can carry on a conversation. Very good Pimm's before dinner.
F. B.
Stunning interiors, great staff, beautiful bedrooms with all the tech you'd expect from an upmarket hotel, lovely atmosphere, great view from the library terrace, and of course the sweet trolley!!! Always a huge treat to stay there.
M. S.
Lovely overnight stay in a top location, rooms are of decent size equipped with molton brown toiletries. Just make sure you comply to the rules of the house ;-) (formal attire, no phones...etc)
R. L.
An excellent evening out as usual great food and drink and atmosphere
M. H.
Members and guests can enjoy luxurious surroundings and good food.
B. F.
Feels wrong to rate a private members' club, but here we go.
Magnificent building in the heart of clubland, pleasant staff, great paintings, fab library. If you get invited, go.
D. I.
Have a drink on the terrace with friends. Stay in the beautifully decorated rooms. Have dinner with selected wines (always leave room for the cheeseboard). Go to the library for the weekly magazines and the world newspapers. It's difficult to recommend against anything.
S. F.
Lovely menu in restaurant and good wine list.sadly vegetables served with meal only lukewarm ( a real no- no for me) .
G. V.
Old fashioned Gentleman's Club. Excellent food, wine and service in grand 19th century surroundings. Quiet and civilised. No mobile phones. Jacket and tie required.
d. y.
I am now a proud member of the club, yay! Any dear Cambridge alumi knows me and wants to get a referral, feel free to contact me. I was at Newnham College, Department of genetics, between 2007-2011.
E. F.
Brilliant place for a surprise birthday. The staff were so helpful and kind and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves
J. G.
CUABC dinner. For London price was as expected. Lamb cooked to perfection! Poor vegetables let down the plate. Service adequate. Coffee poor...
S. B.
Traditional Pall Mall club, with a formal dress code. Very elegant with helpful staff. Excellent restaurant with great food and service.
A. F.
I'm a fan. Good cuisine, lots of space right in the center of London, attentive service and impressive decor. They also do excellent private events.
R. C.
Beautiful traditional building, with several eating rooms/restaurants, conference rooms and occasions. The library is also very beautiful.
J. W.
The restaurant is superb with some intriguing and delicious items on the menu. The building itself is, of course, grand and wonderful. All in all a delight.
M. G.
I went to visit a lift. Yes my life really is that exciting. The place is great, but the lift was a little squeaky for my refined tastes.
K. T.
Fabulous service reminiscent of formal hall in college. One of my favorite paintings is also in their Coffee Room; absolutely magnificent.
e.
My favourite London club. You either love or hate it, very formal, but great food and unbeatable value on the wine list.
C. B.
Classic club staff, prompt bar service, even though busy on our visit - and a lovely library room with marvellous section on London.
E. W.
As clubs go - not a bad one. Haven't joined yet, but tag along with old oxford friends that are members. makes for a nice evening out.
P. H.
Very nice traditional rooms for receptions etc. No sign on or above door- walked past it until i looked up the street number

(Translated) Gentlemen's clubs emerged in London in the 17th century. These private venues were (and are) a meeting and gathering place for the wealthiest class of society, a place to talk, play, gamble, drink and even stay the night.
From its birth to the present, these luxurious enclaves have seen faces related to the world of politics, art, science, literature or even the monarchy pass through their rooms.
