Wonderful members venue. The facilities are world class with Turkish baths, swimming pool, squash and gym. With catering you’ve 2 bars and 3 restaurants, a library, club room and drawing room. The history adds to each visit with the rotunda vehicles and trophies on display.

Impeccable service here at every part of the club. I am amazed with quality of their restaurants, long bar, club room, and drawing room areas. Exceptional foods and fabulous interiors design in every room here. The lockers and the heated pool are a bit old but the squash courts and gym are excellent. Their fine dining at the Great Gallery is not to be missed if you visit this club. Strict dress code to be adhered here.

Being a member of The Royal Automobile Club is a great experience. RAC members are treated to one of the best swimming pools in London, great restaurants, good service and all at reasonable prices. Unlike some other Clubs, there are two Clubhouses. The motoring events have been amazing in recent years.

I loved attending this place for breakfast having eaten vegan pancakes with freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. It has a very posh layout with a lot memorabilia and the paintings of the founding members. Really enjoyed this.

Staff are very welcoming and always ready to help to ensure customers get value for money and have a wonderful experience. You can also ask questions and the Staff will be glad to answer your questions particularly with regards the history of the place. Give it a try, it will be an unforgettable experience.

We went to the less fancy restaurant because the main restaurant is closed on sundays. Amazing food! The oyestors are fresh! I ordered the mixed grill seafood platter. It was just amazing. The portion is big! The risotto is also amazing. The beetroot burger is very sweet and hence it is not oreferred. Then we ordered 6 desserts. The tiramisu was okay but I really liked the hazelnut rocher and the chocolate rasberry. They are amazing!

As a one off, the tasting menu is a real treat - a range of outstanding dishes with perfectly matched wines. You'll be guided through the evening by the impeccably formal, but friendly, staff. Just don't get too used to dining in such other-worldy luxury.

Located in the centre of London it offers to members accommodation, swimming pool, squash courts, hairdresser, Turkish bath and other facilities. There are two bars for the thirsty and a compehensive library for those who love motoring. Many people who stayed there say that it is "home" away from home.

The Royal Automobile Club is a home from home and a welcome oasis in the centre of town. The facilities are excellent with probably the best pool and Turkish Baths in London. Several excellent restaurants (The Great Gallery is superb) and a variety of extremely opulent rooms; service throughout is generally world-class and faultless, the Club and fellow members make membership a pleasure. In addition to the swimming pool and Turkish baths, the sports area includes some of the nation's best squash courts (including one of only a handful of doubles courts), fully equipped gym, weights and aerobics rooms, with state of the art equipment and private trainers. Compared to some of the stuffier and more "establishment" gents clubs, the RAC's membership is a broad church - which I think is a distinct advantage. The food and drink is on another level compared to most private clubs and the Club regularly hosts visiting chefs from the finest restaurants around the world. The Club has excellent guest rooms which are superb value for members or guests and in addition to the Pall Mall Club House, there is a superb country house in Woodcote Park, which has two 18 hole golf courses and a wide range of sporting facilities and events for all tastes. For members there are many activity sections covering most sports and past times - and the events team packs a busy top notch events schedule offering a wide range of unique events and experiences for all. For those who travel, there are reciprocal arrangements with some of the finest private members clubs around the world.

My first date in London was here and it is everything I would (as a newbie to London) imagine a traditional, British, member's club to look like. It felt like stepping into a past era, with portraits of 'important' looking gentleman in front of automobiles back in the 1800's. Exploring the entire place, from room to room, felt like Alice in Wonderland (the British version). They had a library filled with Lonely Planet, and quality paper and pen to write notes on. Complete with fireplace, this room was my favourite. Aside from the typical restaurents and bars, they also had cigar selections, outdoor terraces, Turkish baths, pools etc. It is definitely somewhere you should try and experience once. As far as members clubs go, I think it would be a lovely one to join, as it is big enough to fly under the radar, and has baths and pools that you can actually use (versus just going to socialise). Definitely a memorable first date because of the place (more than the person).

The RAC is very much a posh old boys club, with the usual pomp and dress codes you'd expect from such an establishment. Whilst it feels like stepping into a past era, their facilities are also much better than some of the other clubs on Pall Mall as they have a pool in the basement and a beautiful outside terrace for summer wining and dining. The library is an excellent spot to get some quiet work done - it does get a bit chilly in the winter but staff can usually be cajoled into lighting the fires for you. If you've never crossed the threshold, you should sniff out a member for an invite to dinner sometime - it's worth going once for the experience.

I started with the smoked salmon which was complimented with a Kir Royale, followed by a beautiful piece of roe deer with cabbage and chaneteny mushrooms. The bottle of burgundy recommended by the vibrant French sommelier (somewhat happy on a dreary day) and also left no room for stuffiness which was nice in such a place. Of course there was room for dessert and as there was a Pear Tart Tartin to share it was the only real option there. It was a superb choice and was caramilsed to perfection. I had expected more of a stuffy and pretentious feel about the place, however staff were warm, friendly and engaging to the right level. To go with a member is a great honor and I will be sure to try and go again for another experience of this truly prestigious and wonderfully British club. If you haven't been I suggest you get an invite to experience it just once in your life.

Alongside the Athenaeum, perhaps the grandest of the old london clubs along Pall mall. If you get invited, go, but make sure to where a tie. Attractions include a different vintage car in the entrance lobby each week, the famous underground swimming pool, and the food and drink. Fabulous.
