Brilliant instruction and a really great martial art that covers everything: kicks, striking, blocks, locks/holds/throws, breathing, plus more gymnastic elements too. People are always friendly and you will always feel looked after in classes whilst being encouraged to push yourself. Sulkido has a down to earth ethos and can really make a difference to your daily life, with Martin being a fantastic person to learn from.

Great place! I've just left the UK and now live in the US, and greatly miss Sulkido and the West London club. I've yet to find another martial art so complete and focused on self-improvement. Kicks, punches, throws, locks, breakfalls (even weapons later on) - it has it all, so I've never felt like I'm missing out on some part of my martial arts education. The flip side of this is that it will take a while to get good - this just means that there is always something to improve and learn! The classes themselves are an excellent workout - I haven't found anything that tires me out like this does! The other members are very friendly and eager to help! Highly recommended if you are in the area!

The West London Sulkido truly is a fantastic club. I am very new to martial arts as I previously tried several clubs (Kung Fu, Karate) but could never get motivated enough on the long run. This club however has it all : kicks and punches, breakfalls, hand techniques, breathing techniques, sparring, forms, etc - and a wonderful philosophy. The breaking of a wooden plank at each grading assures us that our kick is technically good and would work in a self-defence situation - it also gives a great sense of accomplishment! From the very beginning, the level is high but no student is ever left behind and I feel that I have made a lot of progress thanks to the team. Martin is a very friendly and supportive instructor who offers concrete advice to overcome our difficulties - and he always explains how and when each technique is used in real life. Come and try it out, you'll be glad you did!

One of the three locations in the world where Sulkido is taught, and I wish there were more. I have practiced martial arts for 11 years in various countries (taekwondo,ju-jitsu,aikido, mostly) and I have never come across a MA so complete (everything except ground wrestling is taught, from all kicks imaginable and punching to 250+ self-defence hand techniques up to black belt), challenging (based on the level of the grading [usually from the board break], without competition), and yet where the members are working as a team. In fact, even after moving out of the country I am still going back to London 6 times a year to keep training with them. Martin is a kind and witty instructor who has an efficient teaching technique while still respecting the student's own rhythm. I'm sure many students will stop looking for their martial arts of choice after going to West London Sulkido.

This is a great club with very committed instructors. My son has been going for years and he has slowly worked his way through the belts. The syllabus is challenging but he loves it and goes twice a week. He is the youngest but it very much feels like an extended family to him.

Very wide range of techniques and excellent instruction. Good for maintaining general fitness, learning practical self-defence, or if you just enjoy martial arts.
