Really nice place, a very comfortable cafe in an extremely well and sympathetically restored building. With some very interesting railway artefacts on display, Just had our grandson's christening here and very impressed. Staff really friendly.

Beautiful little station, with a range of different trains to look and take photos of, the pub itself is a really nice welcoming pub and the staff are incredibly friendly. The toilets and sitting area looked and was very clean and tidy. The interior of the pub is very retro style and old original railway signs are scattered around. I would highly recommend visiting this station.

Irlam Station is a revelation! They have preserved some of the elements of old railways that remind you of times gone by and they've done it really well. The cafe is lovely - we sat in what looked like a converted carriage and the food was very good and very reasonably priced. The staff were excellent - very friendly and efficient. I'll be going back.

Great little cafe friendly service. I would recommend a visit even if it's just to read plaque in men's toilet made me smile

Well connected, quaint little town which is at a stone's throw away distance from Manchester city

I’ve never been - only in my imagination! But, I’ve just read a long, really interesting article in The Guardian (4 July 2018) by Helen Pidd, entitled ‘ The town that was revived by philanthropy’. It seems that local boy made good, Neil McArthur (founder of TalkTalk), is its good fairy - that is why the station is in such good shape. It was derelict in 2015. Well done Neil McArthur!
(NB Guardian website sometimes changes article titles from original newsprint versions - but searching for Helen Pidd should get you to it).

A nice station building with a cafe serving coffees, cakes and lunches. Lots of pictures about local history. A good local community facility.

Nice little cafe/pub and friendly staff all round. Trains into Manchester rarely on time but can't blame facilities for that.

Unique converted railway station > cafe with meeting rooms. Platform still operational with Liverpool / Manchester trains.

Pleasant visit and dog friendly...

Great station with good amenities. It is a bit on the pricey side though but you'd expect it from any station.
