Such a wonderful place. Friendly helpful staff, even taking the time to get my 80 year old mother a chair without us even thinking about it let alone asking! Very informative, Steve patiently answered question after question.
We marvelled at how calm the donkeys were and at how smiley and calm we felt at the end of our visit.
Will definitely visit again!
M. R.
Visited today. Such a lovely sanctuary. All staff are so friendly. The donkeys loved being stroked and scratched gently. So calm and calming. All our questions were answered by happy staff. We adopted three donkeys today and so hope more are adopted to help this fabulous place.

Excellent visit. The donkeys are really well cared for. The staff are very helpful and pleasant and all areas are very clean. The donkeys were brilliant and some of them will allow you to stroke them. My grandson adopted a donkey for my Christmas present and i couldn't have been more delighted. I can't wait to go back and see Tiny Tim and all the donkeys. I can definitely recommend this place.

This place is fantastic for special needs people. The staff are very experienced in helping children / adults connect with the donkeys. Just make sure you plan the journey at the right time. They have a time table so best call them to avoid disappointment. A beautiful place with beautiful people. And of course beautiful donkey's! #autism
C.
Lovely array of donkeys and it’s clear the staff are very good with them. Wonderful place to go with children or animal loving adults. For a super cheap day out you could take a picnic and enjoy at nearby Gorton reservoir after a visit to the sanctuary 😊
M. H.
A pleasant place to visit and see some donkeys up close.
If you like donkeys this place is for you! Plenty of them where you can stroke and get to see them really closely.
There's loads of gifts you can buy to help support the sanctuary.. including some cool donkey socks.
There's plenty of inside play things for the little ones to play with and a outside area (but there's only a swing and roundabout). There's plenty of areas whereby you can relax and have a picnic within benches and grass areas.
S. W.
We were welcomed, very warmly, by the staff even though we were very early (who knew the M62 could be quiet:) ).
All the staff were very informative and obviously love their jobs.
And the donkeys, well just beautiful and very friendly.
Finished off by a coffee, cake and a little retail therepy.
A perfect day 😊❤
G. G. H.
This may not be the liveliest tourist attraction but its well worth going if only to support the brilliant work they do there. Its an amazing charity and one worthy if your support.
H. K.

We called in on a cycling trip and found lovely, friendly, caring staff. There are lots of donkeys in varying sizes, which seemed very content. Each donkey was fitted with an anti-fly 'hat'. What a great idea.

H. M.
Managed to see Henry, the donkey my husband adopted me for my birthday, before he decided it was too cold to be out. Staff friendly and helpful, even in the freezing conditions. Will return when warmer!
R. B.
What a lovely place. An oasis of colour and tranquillity in such a built up area. The donkeys look pretty pleased with life.
M. S.

c. e.
We had a great time there, we were welcomed by the volunteers and they gave us all the information we needed and asked, the donkeys were lovely you can stroke them and get All the pictures you need, thanks for a great visit 😀 👍
S. H.
Fantastic day out very friendly and kind staff very educational to
L. H.
Wow, what a wonderful animal sanctuary! This is such a great charity, not only doing important work for animal rights around the UK and in 40 other countries, but also training their donkeys to perform therapy sessions for children with additional needs. The donkeys' autonomy is respected and they are never forced to do anything they don't want to, including interacting with visitors. Because of this they're very happy and many choose to come up to you for a scratch of their own volition.
The gift shop is absolutely lovely, with a great selection of well priced merchandise featuring photos of the donkeys as well as other fun gifts, some handmade by the sanctuary's volunteers. Everything from post cards to donkey mittens to donkey sanctuary monopoly!
The staff are lovely, everyone is there for their love of the donkeys and they all have big warm hearts. They were kind and informative, on hand to tell us all about each Donkey's personality and about the work of the organisation.
To make your visit even more special I'd highly recommend sponsoring Tiny Tim or Henry through their website, you'll get a photo pack and then get to see your donkey in person! While there are only two "adoption" donkeys, there are currently 17 donkeys living at this location. Such a wonderful charity, we can't wait to come back.
E. G.
A lovely place with caring and dedicated staff. It also has a nice little cafe with super cheap tea and coffee, cakes, and snacks! There's a little shop area with hand/home-made gifts, and sweet pictures of the donkeys. If you walk up from the main bus route you can wander past the local allotments which makes for a really nice little stroll. They offer specialised sessions for children too, as well as school/group bookings. Definitely worth a visit!
J. C.
Excellent tour by knowledgeable staff. The donkeys are so well looked after. If you need a reset from daily life, an hour spent here is well worth it.
R. O.
Brilliant place to bring the children. Level ground all around makes it easy for those who may be unsteady on their feet or who may use a wheelchair. There are two areas where the donkeys are, one being inside if you're caught by a rain shower. There is also a café. Wide doorways and pathways for anyone needing assistance while walking. Staff were ace! Friendly and accommodating.
The donkeys look to be really well looked after, the interaction the staff had with them while we were there just shows their love for them. Was great to see!
Highly recommended! Without doubt we will be returning again soon!
C. C.
Lovely place read some of the reviews and can't understand what some people want. There is plenty of interaction with the donkeys also the work they do for children with special needs is Amazing
I have visited many times and have always been happy after being there. Keep up the good work
T. M.
Anybody who loves these beautiful animals will love it here, the donkeys also work with children who have a disability.
The donkeys are very gentle kind and loving and are so calming to be around.
The donkey sanctuary is
Fully accessible for wheelchairs and also as a disabled toilet.
There is a cafe and various events you can attend throughout the year if you look on their website for information and opening times.
Each donkey as his or hers birthday celebrated with home made carrot cake and Polo's
And there is an adoption scheme also which makes a great birthday gift or present for any occasion.
d. r.
Brilliant to visit with the kids. They have little activity shows which were not on for us but we could see the donkeys, they came over to us for a strike and were really friendly. There is a very reasonablely priced cafe their with a seating and small play area too. Free parking, be sure to sponsor a donkey for the year. It's about £20 and makes a real difference!
G. E.
This is a great little hidden away jewel. Lots to do, visit the donkeys, inside and out. A little gift shop, a small cafe facility and activities area and a playgroup with accessible equipment. Picnic spaces are available outside. Worth an afternoon or morning trip for a could of hours.
N. H.
Great place to visit with the kids if your on a tight budget. Has a cafe that sells tea coffee soft drinks and snacks that aren't expensive. Good toilet facilities and some picnic benches outside on the grass area. Oh yea and there's Donkeys too 😊
S. I.
A lovely place with helpful staff, it's clean, appears well run, and the animals all look well cared for. There is a colouring /kids area with postboxes for each donkey, so they can have a letter each. There's a small cafe, toilet facilities, free parking area, and a small gift shop. It's worth a visit!
B. O.
Absolutely brilliant place for everyone. Staff are amazing, donkeys are well cared for and full of character. Accessible all round the centre. Lovely outdoor play area and sensory room. Definitely recommend!
S. P.

A. L. W.
Visited today with a coach trip, brilliant place, staff are so informative. The donkeys are beautiful, so well cared for,so lucky that places exist for these wonderful creatures. Good luck for the future and thank you😘
O. L.
Lovely peaceful place. Gorgeous donkeys and you can tell they are well looked after and relaxed. Staff are friendly but if you want to see the donkeys in the field you have to ask it isn't suggested or offered to you. Unless there's an event going on the place is very quiet and it is just going to see the donkeys and giving them a stroke and if you wish to adopt one (we did!) Then this is probably the best time as you aren't battling queues or waiting to ask how to do so. If you want more out of your visit then go when there is an event on or Fun Day do you can spend more time there. Details of that are on the website or Facebook page.
J. H.

Tiny Tim was adopted for Our family by a friend. Visiting is brilliant and the super staff will bring your donkey out to see you. Don't forget to bring apples and carrots for the gang. Sadly you can't feed them as they are used by special needs children which is great. The gang get well fed and cared for by the staff and volunteers. Renewed our adoption on the day we visited. Good for a visit and recommended.
