We enjoyed a great evening at the John Alker Club at the Motown night. The band were wonderful while the staff worked tirelessly to keep the bar moving. It was extremely busy but Derek and Tom worked wonders to get everybody seated and comfortable. We will definitely be back - thank you

First visit here. Went to see Mike Sweeny and he sang with a band, great entertainment. Spacious seating and good size dance floor. Alcohol reasonably priced. Would go again to this venue

Had my mums surprise 50th here a few weeks ago, and currently at our 80s charity do in support of Ukrainian families. Bar staff are very friendly and helpful, always such a good night. Wouldn’t be the same without Tommy the DJ of course!!

I would like to thank Dell the man who was very helpful and gave us the information we needed for our special night and always at the end of the phone when needed and was there on the night to greet us couldn't have asked for anymore from him. I also like to thank Gill and Lorraine the ladies who worked the bar for us they were very friendly and helped us enjoy our night to the full! I would highly recommend this place for anyone on a small budget and with high numbers of people very reasonable rates and there's always help when you need anything.

Some absolutely amazing acts on here so far attended a motown night, George Micheal, boy George Queen tribute nights plus an 80s night and there's soon a take that and oasis night not a bad night's entertainment for a tenner. room is a bit dated but clean, drinks are reasonable. Staff really friendly

Held my mum's 50th here and had an absolutely amazing time. Great venue for throwing a party. Recently decorated, the room looked fantastic, friendly professional bar staff who kept us served all night long and kept tables clear of empty glasses. Drinks were very reasonably priced too. The DJ was great, playing party games, cheesey songs and even took requests. A Fabulous time was had by all xxx

So yesterday i had my son's christening party at John alker ex serviceman club. I had invited 50 people. I was in church and had so many messages from people cancelling last minute. I was so upset and had catered for all these people. My plans for day got completley thrown off and it was super stressful but the staff were brilliant. If you need a venue for anything, book here! Dell who takes the bookings is just brilliant. Even changing times and dj set for me last minute because I'd been messed around so much and the kids loved him!! Bar is reasonable too Thanks guys!!

Old fashioned working mens club, requires a small annual membership fee (or a member to sign you in) but none of the stuffy rules that usually go with members clubs. Good selection of (very) cheap beers. Also shows live football games

My first time in this club it was to celebrate my wife's nephew's son's christening We found the place well looked after and the staff in attendance polite and friendly The toilets to be clean and with soap and had driers
