A surprisingly good venue - lots of space and the drinks are really cheap for Oxford (around £1 for an Irn Bru - one of the few places that sells it, and around £3 for a pint).
Ignore the 'Conservative' part in the title. Whilst the profits do go to the national party, they are a separate branch to the more political wing of the party. In other words: to be a member doesn't mean that you will get pestered for money or campaigning, and you don't have to be Conservative or even small 'c' conservative to join.
They also have a good pool table and lots of space (including a large ball room out the back, which I once saw a party of 300 in).
Oh, and they have a buzzer system so you do need to ring the buzzer to get in, but they are friendly and open minded. Shaun Bailey runs the place and is a really amiable chap, although the committee rotates each year.
