My son loves the Sea Cadets. They learn so many valuable skills; he's made loads of friends; and the opportunities to grow is endless. Highly recommend the Sea Cadets for both boys and girls.

Wow! I really look forward to 'Sea cadet nights'. Whether boating on the river or learning navigation or meterology, I simply crave the cadet experience. Offshore trips are available and really are the pinnicle of the cadet experience. I find the winter months slightly less interessting than the summer boating but its all great fun. There is of course a serious side which hits you at first site of the unit (please dont be put off on your first night) after the formal side everyone makes friends very fast and teamwork is strong and is clear throughout the unit. As both a Cadet at the time of writing this I can definatly say this is one of the best ways to get:
-Cheap qualifications (PB2, BTech, DofE and many more)
-Build your teamwork skills
-Have fun boating
-Learn loads of life skills
-And lots and lots of other things.
And NO there is no requirement to join the Navy it is a youth development organisation 'Sea Cadets is the UK's largest maritime youth charity.'
