S. M.I can only rate ad a venue hire.
The staff that I spoke to via email were very helpful. Sent me all the relevant information. The gentleman that was there to open wad helpful and polite also. The building itself has all the facilities needed. Male and female toilets and baby changing. Kitchen with two kettles, fridge, microwave and plenty of space and serving hatch to the main hall. Lots of tables and chairs and everything was clean and tidy. The only reason I rated 4 and not 5 is because I had to pay a £30 surcharge due to covid? I didn't understand why or what this was for? I was told it was because it was a scout hut and they would have to make sure it's clean after. But we had to clean it after and take all our rubbish away with us. Plus surely the room hire cost would cover a cleaner to go in after regardless of covid? Other than that I can't complain. Would definitely book again.
P. C.We visited the Scout Hut on both Friday and Saturday to support the Annual Beer Tasting, which helps to raise funds. On both days, I was impressed by the level of staffing and organisation. There were various musical events, including a 4 piece brass band, and an a capella singing group. Many beers, various gins, mocktails, and hamburgers and hot dogs. Very pleasant and well managed, and a good cause.
