I. S.My case was on-going for two years, and the EELC were there throughout. I had a strong case, but I don't believe I would have gotten such a good result without the guidance and hard work of the EELC and particularly Aoife McGovern. Aoife was even there and available on tribunal days, ready to answer the phone if I was in any doubt or need of something. My ex-employers were always trying to gaslight me, but the support, knowledge, and conviction of Aoife et al meant they were always unsuccessful at getting in my head, and ultimately unsuccessful in the case! The legal work itself was to a high standard as well, taking my thoughts and views and turning them into a high quality argument. Not to mention the Written Submissions which I guarantee would have been gibberish if I'd had to try to piece them together! I could tell that the EELC as a whole believed in what they were doing for me and I'm sure that attitude translates to everything and everyone else. S. C.I was referred to Merseyside Employment Law by the Civil Legal Advice helpline. My solicitor, Leslie, helped me with a discrimination case. At first I was a bit annoyed because it took him a while to determine the legal status of the organisation I wanted to sue, but I learned that mine was not a standard case. However once he had the information he needed he drafted the paperwork very quickly and negotiated a reasonable outcome. I was very pleased with the way Leslie handled the responses I received; he helped me avoid petty arguments and a lot of wasted time. He also pointed out things in the agreements I would never noticed myself. I have used other lawyers in the past who took thousands of pounds in fees, so I was totally shocked to find out that because they are a charity, I don't have to worry about a huge bill at the end. I am very grateful for their help. I was angry about the discrimination because I worked very hard, but Merseyside Employment Law took some of the sting out of a disappointing situation.
