I recently had the pleasure of working with Tosin Oguntayo from Coram Chambers with regards a Family Law matter. From the outset, Tosin was able to give me solid advice and manage my expectations as to the potential outcomes of my case. Melissa Harrison represented me on a direct access basis through acrimonious child arrangements. Before instructing Melissa I had previously no access for 10 months to my child as solicitors were not able to make progress. After our first meeting she told me that despite my ex withholding and dubious statements she could see my face light up talking about my little one and that the circle of truth would become clear in this case. The advice, support and advocacy Richard Yorke gave me in 2019 was exactly what I had hoped for. He was recommended to me by another single mother who had used Richard for her own acrimonious divorce and said he was like a super hero, which really is in a way (looks a bit like a UK Captain America!). We both had had an extremely complicated case and no money, going through a divorce in which both our partners, once separated became different people and had lost all empathy or interest in the children, keen only to get out and to win financially. I was a mess. Richard cut through the nonsense and guided me through with the most reasonable, rationale and above all legally persuasive advice and strategy. The outcome was good for me and the children and it didn't cost as much because I worked just with him (without a solicitor). While this may not always be the best way forward for people, I had two children with SEND and extra needs to unable to work anyway. But this way forward somehow worked and we got through it fast, it could have dragged out much longer. I actually imagine his down to earth, no nonsense presence in court had the desired effect on everyone and no one wanted to go back against him again. His clerk Joe Bernard is also extremely helpful!

I would highly recommend Coram chambers, especially Tosin Oguntayo. As a litigant in person I instructed Tosin to represent me in two hearings on a direct access basis for a contested family matter. He was outstanding. He is calm, caring, firm and fair. He has a meticulous eye for detail, and a skill in writing statements that absolutely nail your case detail. Richard Yorke was available whenever I would need to contact him and able to provide immediate advice. Due to my relocation and being a busy working parent I regularly gave last minute requests to Richard, as I was provided with documents late leaving very limited time for Richard to work on them and requiring him to often working during weekends or late hours to meet the deadlines for my case. Richard had to deal with a complicated, legally well-represented opponent party in my case, whose barrister was very professional and strong representing their client. ( Family court) Srishti Suresh absolutely outstanding, she was fully prepared unlike some solicitors who I have used in the past who have made me feel uneasy or have not been as prepared as I would have liked them to be. She made me feel at ease and comfortable as soon as I greeted her. In these situations you are stressed as it so for someone to tell you not to worry because they are fully aware by reading your case, understanding the situation and then to prepare the work for you gives you a sense of ease. She was professional, she was fully aware of all the laws and regulations regarding the family court and children matter more so that the judge himself was happy to be reminded by some of them. If you have a children matter I would definitely recommend her, yet alone when she told me she was an Oxford graduate that put a smile on my face to. I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart.

My matter was relisted at short notice therefore, Richard picked up my case very close to the date of the FDR and turned things around rather quickly.
