Thanks Holly and Amanda for your ongoing support during a tricky completion in places. They remained professional throughout and kept persisting in managing difficult buyers solicitors. We had some post completion queries they helped to clear up for us too. We are now settling happily into our new home!

To be perfectly honest, it's much of a bittersweet experience. First of all, I'm relieved that the my solicitor is able to complete everything by the stamp duty deadline - which is amazing considering that I only have him for two months. However, it's important to note that he's been very difficult to reach (I tried emails and calls) and nobody ever updates you about the progress (and the portal is simply quite useless). The process is very stressful, and I still haven't received any proper explanation regarding why there is a miscommunication between the sellers solicitor and mine for two weeks (and I've no idea about that until I decided to give the estate agent a call instead). So long story short, if this is something common among all solicitors, then I don't see a huge problem because I did manage to get it done. However, you do have to pay lots of time and effort into nudging them, which can simply be a nerve wrecking experience.

Customer/Client focussed property lawyers. A house purchase is never the least stress free transaction to undertake in life. However RG Law made the experience virtually pain free and pulled out the stops to deliver for me. I am fully aware of the current surge in property purchase/sales due to the Stamp Duty holiday but Laura Baldwin from RG Law YORK gave me first class, expeditious and professional service. I was provided with updates at times outside office hours and RG Law YORK went the extra mile often managing others in the process to ensure the purchase was completed for me in the given time frames. She clarified a serious problem with the leasehold agreement and, in dealings with the estate agent, she maintained absolute clarity and impartiality. RG Solicitors had been recommended by the agent, so I was worried they might feel obliged to soften their wording in order to maintain good relations with the agent, but this wasn't the case at all. Becky was always faultlessly clear and impartial. I really felt I could trust her. It was also great to deal with a firm that was happy to do things 100% by email. How do I describe my experience of buying my first home? An utter nightmare that almost on a weekly bases felt like it was going to fall through thanks to the seller and her solicitors being extremely unreasonable and difficult for the sake of it. Having recently sold a property through RG, it was a good experience if not a little trying at times due to a chain, but i do believe this was because of complications in the chain. The service is always very friendly and legal matters are explained in a way which is easy to understand. RG Solicitors dealt with the sale of my property very well! I went to they're branch to get a quote and they gave me a breakdown of the price with detailed instructions of what they where doing. I had a team that walked me through the sale and purchase of my property. In one of the branches a young lady long hair (I cant remember her name was very helpful) the team in York made sure I had everything ready and anything I didn't understand they would explain, the team Holly, John, Kimberly, Sadie made sure that they gave legendary customer service and Im sure I will use them again!
