I had to replace a number plate, and buy a few accessories for my car. I am no expert in this field and found the shop assistance really helpful and knowledgeable. They listened to my requirements and pointed me in the right direction. They gave great advise and the products were found quickly. I paid for the number plate to be put on the car, the seating area and free coffee were very welcomed. Very polite, friendly staff at the Colchester branch. I highly recommend.

Really great service from my Colchester Store and I have been kept well up to date. One thing though. Why do you use such a massive Font on your e-mails. I just wanted to print off the detail to take to the store and it took 4x pages of A4 and one hell of as lot of ink. Its so easy to change and would actually put someone, who is not Mobile Phone savvy, off from purchasing again. Brilliant service from the store though.

Great service from staff. I really appreciate their kindness. I had visited the store 3 times and I spent a minimum of an hour in the store every time I visited. The staff assisted me all the time and had been kind and patient to answer all my questions. Being a beginner, it helped me understand how to choose a cycle and purchase required accessories.

Could not be happier with the customer care I was there with my wife and 3 year old purchasing some bits when my 3 year old decided she really needed the toilet so we asked the two gentlemen at the front door who were greeting customers if they had a toilet that my little one could use they both said yes and one escorted my wife and daughter to the staff toilet. I got a feedback card in-store but I lost my receipt so I don't know the transaction number so I thought I'd put my feedback here. I went to Colchester Halfords on a bank holiday so they were really busy but someone found the time to come over to me to see if I needed any help. I asked about the helmets and he was really knowledge and helpful, I then wanted a bike bell I'd seen online and even though it wasn't on the shelf the guy tried to track in down, to no avail but I appreciate the effort, I believe his name was Makyle. P s. I like the look of the store and the new seating area for car services.

I cannot fault Halfords Colchester at the moment. Earlier this month the Autocentre conducted the MOT on my car and found no faults and today at the shop an Aircon check and 10 point safety check were both done free of charge, with no resultant work required. At both branches the level of customer service and care was exemplary.

Purchased two e-bikes in store. Becky who served us was very polite, patient and knowledgeable throughout and guided us through various options. We were in store for the best part of 2 hours and purchased not only the bikes but various accessories along with a care package. Overall the service was excellent and I believe will also got a very fair deal on what we purchased. Looking forward to picking up the bikes which were available on a weeks lead time and enjoying many hours of happy cycling.

I came here originally as ten point car health checks were free on a promotion, something that is meant to take 15 minutes. I was asked if I had any existing issues that made me want this health check- I said yes, I’ve got an engine light saying my pollution system is faulty. They then plug my car into a computer, free of charge, to run diagnostic tests. The computer said there were parts of my engine completely missing. Upon opening the bonnet, they find my turbo has completely separated from my exhaust; and another part hadn’t been fitted properly. This meant that oil and smoke was spreading all over my engine, and was also the reason why the computer thought parts were missing. They helped me phone the garage that replaced the turbo only a year and a half ago, searched the prices of necessary parts and then booked me into the auto centre so they can give me a proper quote on repairs, just as a baseline to compare with other companies. Again, free of charge. Afterwards, they continued with the check and filled all of my tires with air for me. This all took two hours, and I was not charged a penny. I am beyond pleased with the service provided by all of the staff here; as a uni student who doesn’t know the first thing about cars, they gave me confidence and advice I desperately needed. I can’t thank them enough for their time and patience. They truly went above and beyond. (Ft. Amazing looking revamped store looked although the staff seemed to be non visible and made to feel like I was walking around Gucci when I clearly couldn’t afford their overpriced product. Like come on say hello welcome me to your new look store ask if I had trouble finding what I wanted. Amazing experience at Halfords in Colchester after years of not going. It’s completely changed. Totally upgraded, amazing staff with lots of females which I find welcoming. A great team and they clearly all enjoy working there. A great experience with the car, I felt they just looked after me, didn’t try and force products or services I did want but genuinely interested in the health of my car. Popped in to have a brake light replaced as I didn't have the tools to do the job. Was offered a free vehicle check up, glad I did as was almost out of coolant, had rear window wiper replaced. I can not express how great Colchester Halfords are. Mel who greeted meet was very personable and explained the process regarding my dash cam fitting, very friendly and helpful and great coffee too. Wayne who fitted my dash cam was great too, explained about the dash cam, helped me download the app and set it up, did a great job fitting it too, no wires, no issue. 10/10 I haven’t received customer service as good as this for a long time. Visited this morning to have a car guard fitted, the store had fantastic social distancing measures in place, all staff wearing masks and we saw lots of hand sanitising areas. The staff were very happy and welcoming, the store looked great, very nice looking refit. We opted to have the dog guard fitted and it was fitted by a lovely man called Wayne. He was so helpful, friendly and charming, we chatted about our dogs which was nice. He was very helpful! I was delighted with the new Halfords store , the entry was manned by a staff member who directed me towards the item I wanted to buy, at the till I was offered the option of having it fitted and a comfortable waiting area. Outside there were service bays which were clean and well equipped and although I did not require a complete free car check my lights and tyre pressures were checked. I was pleasantly surprised by my last visit to Halfords. Used to waiting ages to be served, I was attended to immediately, the part I needed for a 15 year old car was in stock, it was fitted straight away with no problems. Staff were polite, helpful and approachable and I was shown to the coffee machine to wait for a lightbulb to be fitted. The store refit has made things much easier to find and there is lots more room to move around. All in all, a very successful visit.

Even given a refund after staff noticed that I had been charged to fit 2 x front wiper blades rather than the lesser charge for 1 x pair. The pump wasn't the correct fit but when I returned after a long lockdown yesterday and today, the team could not have been more helpful. John and his colleagues are great ambassadors for your company. Highly knowledgeable, professional, really respectful and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble. All my questions were answered and more, explaining things about my scooter I didn't even know, your sales colleague made the experience exciting and interesting - He even demonstrated a folding bike I noticed as well, just in case I venture into that area - I felt greatly valued as a customer, thank you! I walked into the store and was immediately greeted with a welcoming smile by Paula who was very welcoming and easy to talk to and very polite. I was introduced to Bronte who was just as welcoming and helpful. Bronte continued to support with the repairs I required. I was escorted by Paula into a very chilled out calming waiting area space to wait for my repairs. I was offered a hot chocolate or coffee while I wait. Being 150 miles from home my number plates were stolen. The Police were a waste of time, DVLA too but I called this Halfords and from start to finish my expectations were exceeded and blown away. From Holly in the call centre who offered to use FaceTime so that home could show my V5, to the friendly and helpful Chanel who greeted me in store, listened to my issues and with Joe efficiently checked all documents and produced new number plates, then Josh came and found me in store so he could fit them. A superb experience that was quick and efficient yet still had a friendly and empathetic manner. Really pleased with this store I visited today, very clean and well organised with all the staff taking covid precautions. The door lady was very professional and directed me to the correct area where they sorted out the problem with my dashcam quickly and fairly with no problems. The young manager is really easy to talk to and is a real credit to Halfords. Great experience the other day - social distancing was being very well observed and limited numbers were allowed in the store. A member of staff was asking each customer what they were shopping for before they went in and giving them directions to the right area. When it was my turn, I asked for high temperature engine paint and although quite an obscure product, she knew exactly where it was, what shelf, what aisle and directed me there perfectly. Today it snowed! The car was due for service/MOT but when I went to scrape it and start it there was no life. Breakdown man confirmed I needed a new battery. I got it down to Halfords Cowdray and pulled up without switching off next to the fitter working on another car to check it was in stock and could be done in case I turned it off and got stuck. I had a puppy at home and a grocery delivery due in the next 2 hrs. I went into the store and John at the cash desk was so helpful and informative telling me I could also get a free winter check as I work in social care. After a short wait the car battery was fitted, the winter check was completed and I was home for the shopping delivery. John and Matt were both efficient, helpful and very warm on a freezing cold morning. Highly recommend. Competitive price too!

I visited Halfords in Colchester today regarding my wife’s dash cam that was fitted a couple of months ago by Halfords mobile fitters. The dash cam hasn’t worked since day one. I met a young man, Keiron who inspected the fitting and immediately knew what the problem was and went about putting it right. This young man is a credit to Halfords, a true professional who knows his stuff unlike the two mobile fitters. If you want a dash cam fitted I strongly recommend that you ask for Keiron to do it, a lad that knows what he is doing. Thank you Keiron, you are a star.

Went to the local Halfords today and was so impressed with the guy who served me I thought it was only fair to give him a big shout out for being so helpful. I went to see if they had a reducer for clamping a pull along bike as the one I had got from a friend didn't fit on my saddle. He briefly looked on the shelf and then said he would look out the back and after 5 minutes came back with a handful of shims. I took 3 of them and asked what the cost was and he said I could take them. WOW.....proper small shop service from a large multiple. Make sure you look after your staff Halfords! Happy to say that that the shim worked and we had a happy bike ride this afternoon.

Popped in after having a suspect dodgy car battery. I must say that the chap who came out to check the battery was absolutely fantastic. He went above and beyond just changing the battery by also checking the charging system free of charge to make sure all was ok before selling me the battery. Though they charged 10£ to replace and dispose of the old one, a quick Google showed that halfords charged £5 less than anybody else for the replacement battery so for a fiver I thought it was pretty good.
