Buying a child’s car seat, Halfords representative, Tom, showed us the various alternatives that would be most appropriate. Tom was polite, cheerful and professional. There was no “hard sell” and he answered all of the questions we had regarding safety, ease of fitting and price. Having bought the seat, Tom then fitted this into our car and explained if we ever needed the chair re-fitted, to bring it back to Halfords so that they may do so, no problem and at no cost. The whole experience was very positive, brilliant in fact! Thank you, Tom

Rang stare to check availability of wiper blades. Assured were in stock and could be fitted. Visited store, till staff polite, friendly and helpful. Fetched product from shelf and dealt with whole purchase efficiently. Short wait for wiper blades to be fitted (would be helpful to know where you are in the queue for the fitter) but dealt with very quickly and professionally by the fitter. Will use Halfords again for similar purchase/service.

Pre-ordered a new car battery online; range of 5 available for my car and pretty easy to select the one I wanted from the descriptions and specifications. Price was competitive and pre-payment easy. Received email and text confirmation when battery was ready (almost immediately). Was ready for fitting when I went the next morning. Pleasant reception from Hannah on the till and quickly fitted by Oliver, who checked all was working ok and I was happy with it before I drive away. Highly recommended!

my car had starting issue so I went to Halfords to get the battery checked. the staff was very helpful and Technician was really professional and knowledgeable, explained the process and identified the root cause which was Alternator which had caused battery to discharge over time. it saved a lot of hassle as I went to 2 different garages before going to Halfords and they diagnosed something else which didn't make sense. Really good experience getting a confirmation of size bike for my son. Visited Halfords in Peterborough because the last time I tried to change a part on my car it was a pain that took me all afternoon. Asked at the till about the possibility of it being done by Halfords, and about 10 minutes later it was all sorted, and significantly cheaper than I was expecting it to be. We went into Halfords Peterborough today to buy some spray paint to touch up our Ford C Max that had transferred paint from the garage door to the car door handle. Fortunately for us Ken saw us looking at the paint and asked if he could help. He went outside to check paint colour on our car. We showed him the handle. He told us the colour of the paint then went inside fetched some cream for removing light scratches and he applied it to the door handle. All traces of paint from the garage door were removed from the handle!!! We bought the paint and the magic cream I wish we could have bought Ken!! hello, there is everything you need in the shop, I would only change the prices for specific goods !!! because there is a mess on the shelves and it misleads the customer, you need to carefully look at what product and how much it costs, because when paying, you may be surprised, only this note, and there are very large queues to pay for the goods, it must definitely change.

I had to get some new number plates made and fitted. The assistant was very friendly and very professional. He did a great job and was a credit to the store. It became quite busy whilst I was there at around 11.30am on a Friday so there was a bit of waiting around but it didn't take too long in the end.

She took me through the entire process and explained everything to me to make a decision on which bike was best for me she was patient and kind with me and went through the pros of each bike and the differences that would benefit me. I didn't actually buy anything today as I was just browsing the cycles to get a feel for the size, weight and quality of parts before going online to find the right bike for me in my budget range. Jake was super helpful and answered all my needs and let me try a few bikes around the store and it felt like I was chatting with a mate rather than a robotic pushy store assistant. I spent longer in there than I was expecting as it was fun and informative and Jake even wrote down all the specs I know now I need to make choosing my future new bike a more pleasurable experience.

I felt like I needed to share how impressed I was with the service I received yesterday. A mechanic had removed one of my child seats to access some work they had to do but couldn’t re-fit it. I only had a short period of time before getting back across town to pick my children up from school. When I arrived at Halfords I spoke with someone almost immediately and Hannah was incredibly fantastic. She not only refitted my car seat (making it look so easy) that because she was so quick I then had time to ask about when I should change my seats. In the end I bought the next stage up for my eldest & this meant she had to remove the seat she’d just fitted & remove my other car seat switch the awkward one to fit to the other side of the car and fit the new one. Her patience and calm manner made the whole experience unstressful which I really wasn’t expecting. Thank you.

I went to the Peterborough branch of Halfords on Sunday 15th August with my daughter to look at women's bikes. All store colleagues were adhering to social distancing guidelines and wearing face coverings. We were served by a very pleasant man who gave us plenty of time to browse, ask questions and make our choice. He did not steer us to higher priced bikes, and asked what amount of cycling we would be looking to do, so that he could guide us to an appropriate range. He was knowledgeable and was able to give advice where requested. I have not purchased a bike from Halfords previously, and was a little dubious that we would find a bike or that we would be given enough information to make decisions. We ended up purchasing two women's bikes and hubby will be buying his own bike shortly. Would recommend.

Popped down to your store on 16/6/21 to enquire about an air con re gassing kit as my car only blew warm air. The kind young chap came out to my car to see what gas I needed but it turned out my gas was pretty much full. A few pumps of gas to wake the system up and all is perfect! What's even better is I wasn't charged a penny so happy days and a happy customer.

Peterborough should have someone on the floor to help with queries not operating the till and answering queries. Every member of staff I speak to stay is always helpful and informative. I waited so long for stock to come for the bike I wanted they let me buy the display model. Ridas was very helpful arranging my bike to be health checked quickly and Joe was very helpful when serving me. Follow up to my last review below. Turns out nothing was ever ordered, went in again this Friday a week later and Tom and Dean never found the order or my details, which suggests it was never captured which they confirmed. Tom then with Dean's help sorted out what the could from the shelf and ordered the other damaged parts. Just had a phone call from Tom, and my parts have arrived. Well done Tom and Dean, you saved the day. Pity others involved couldn't do what they promised, or rang me back to tell me their was an issue or they just forgot. Went to the Peterborough store this afternoon in search for a bike which I needed to take away on the same day. Connor and Joe were absolutely brilliant, dream team in the house and if the boss sees this I hope these two colleagues get a pay rise! I had no clue when it came to which bike to get. Connor and Joe both really went the extra mile in explaining the different types of bikes on offer and helping me narrow down my selection. I thank both of these colleagues greatly for taking the time to explain everything to me and answering all of my silly questions, nothing was too much to ask! I was able to have a test drive, and all of the accessories I purchased were also installed for me on the bike while I was in store. Before going home with the bike Connor and Joe ensured the bike was in perfect condition! I was even given a number of cycle routes and apps to have a look at to help me start my cycling journey. Despite a wait of nearly 30 minutes for someone to be available to check and change the car battery, when Tom came along he couldn't have been more efficient. He diagnosed the problem, went through the different options and did the whole job in about 20 minutes. I think if customers have to wait (there were other people waiting) then there should be enough chairs and maybe access to drinking water and a customer toilet.

Bike click and collect items are required to be collected from upstairs where people are waiting in a queue to get their bikes checked out etc. The downstairs counter has no one waiting while there's a big queue upstairs. Would be much easier to bring all click and collect items downstairs. Otherwise all ok.

Today I went to collect my carrera Kracken from the Halfords store in Peterborough which I purchased online and asked for the bike to be built. When I arrived the customer service assistant went and got my bike went through everything with me about the bike that I need to know, provided me with vital information that would help me to keep the bike well maintained. He provided me with good customer service and answered all my questions, he provided me with information on useful essentials for the bike which he recommended I should purchase like the mud guards, tire protection, tools ect and was really helpful. Once I left the store I went for a 30 minute bike ride making sure I tested the bike out and it was built to a very good standard. The bike ride was very smooth and really enjoyed the bike ride and I didn’t experience no issues whatsoever. I tested the different gears and kept changing them making sure the gears were changing smoothly, making sure they are comfortable to use which they was and I was treating the breaks as well making sure they are working correctly which they are as well. So the bike build was done to a correct standard and i’m looking forward to using the bike and will see if the progression continues. I highly recommend the carrera kraken to be purchased as it’s a very good and useful bike to have.

Had my breaks changed by a mobile mechanic who left me without any breaking power at all, despite knowing I was as a nurse and needed my car to get me to work. He advised me to give it a couple of days to see if they started working then phone him if breaks still not working as he couldn’t think of any reason why they shouldn’t work. Phoned Halfords Autocentre on Mallory Road in a panic after having to use my hand break to stop the car doing a test drive. Receptionist was a star and got me in first thing the next day as an emergency appointment so I could get to my nursing jobs in Kettering Hospital. Breaks were bled to get air out of the line and new fluid put in (which mobile mechanic should have known was the issue). My car is now safe to drive. Would recommend. Friendly, efficient and cost effective.

Visited Halford in Peterborough to buy some spanners. Had some vouchers and discount to apply, so difficult to do on line. The shop was well spaced, Staff and customers following social distancing rules and lots of sanitiser available. I asked for the spanners at the till and the assistant went to get them from the cabinet. She sorted the vouchers and discount, explaining to us how to do it. Everything was really well organised and safe. We have tried to stay distant throughout the Covid crisis. Using delivery services where possible. Halfords were safe and efficient, just what's needed. Allowing as much normality as possible whilst keeping us all safe.

After the fiasco at the Padholme Road AutoCentre where I cancelled the order of wiper blades because they did not have the items available for a pre-booked appointment and could not tell me when the parts would be available, coupled with an obnoxious receptionist, the Mallory Road team proved beyond criticism and redeemed my failing confidence in Halfords. Not only were the goods available the moment I arrived, they offered to fit them on the spot for £4.00. Parts were fitted within two minutes...fabulous. Nice place with everything displayed well. You can stock check online which can save time only issue is that they have very few tills so you will almost always find yourself waiting to be served. Also there are parking spaces available at the front you don't have to park at the side and walk around, which is an easy mistake to make if its your first time in the area (no clear signs).

If you know what you want is a decent place. I collected a Carrera Vulcan today not a bike that will break the bank but one that is perfect for me to take the kids out. Explore locally and have fun with. Has lock out forks and hydraulic brakes. This is an exceptional bike for £375 and is perfect for a weekend explorer and weekday parent. Make sure you check a bike over on collection and put it around the car park etc. before you go anywhere. Halfords though did a very nice job on the build and config of the bike. A little note air wanted for the tyres and a degree of change (I am fussy) on the handle bar.
