Received a parking charge notice that said I had exceeded the permitted time. Despite providing evidence to the company that manages the site that I had to be there for longer than the permitted time as I was having work done the company rejected my appeal. On the off chance I contacted the store directly and explained the situation. Tom was extremely helpful and was able to sort this in a few minutes. Thanks for your assistance

Frustrating!! Ordered 2 shelving units last Friday for same day collection. Got a phone call an hour or so later telling me that they only had 1 in store as stock was wrong and would need to order another on for delivery on Tuesday - annoying as needed 2 to do the job properly. No call or message on Tuesday so call the number on Weds to sit on hold for ages and finally be told that it's in ready for collection. Turn up today (Thursday) to be told that the original ordered item had been cancelled on the order and that the replacement had also been cancelled - although I had been and still have been charged for the 2 items!! Lady serving was great tho - sorry didn't get a name and managed to sort it out in the end. It's not the first time I've had this happen with them - just make sure your not making a long journey to collect anything from them!

Easy to park car. Walked through, found what we were looking for on one of the many tablets that are dotted around the spots around the store. You put your reg of your car in and in our case, we had three choices of windscreen wipers, picked the set we wanted. Went over to tills, paid and left...

Staff was helpful and nice but stock is very limited. I wanted a sealed headset bearing. There was nothing at all, only ball bearing. So, I am not very impressed as Halfords is specialist in bike and car accessories. If I want bike parts I should look elsewhere then.

Offered a paid check of the car and accepted that as there would not be too long a wait for that. Staff member 'Caitlin' helped in the store and Tyler did the car check. Very happy with both. *Female driver* Called the centre on a busy Sunday as my van door was jammed leaving me unable to lock the other doors and the possibility of having equipment stolen. Stuart was so helpful and suggested I bring it in immediately for them to look at to see if they could resolve the problem. Once there Scott took a look at the door and immediately knew what the problem was and how to fix it, which he did in a matter of minutes. Something I couldn't have done on my own. Both gave me advice on how to maintain the door/runners to prevent it happening again, which was great. Although this might sound like a little job, to me it was a massive relief and I was so pleased to have peace of mind that my van was now secure. Stuart and Scott provided a fantastic service so much so I will now be taking my van there for a service shortly.

Pre ordered a bulb and fitting, bulb was there when I got there, and the fitter started no later than 5 mins after I arrived. The actual fitting took about 10 mins. The technician was very polite. All in all a very positive experience and 1 I will repeat if any more bulbs decide to blow.

Absolutely fantastic!! From start to finish. From the moment I arrived I was greeted promptly, and by friendly and helpful staff staff. I had been trying to find somewhere that might be able to fix my sons bike for days, and had been told I could be waiting up to 3-4 weeks. Halfords was my last port of call, and I'm sorry I didn't visit sooner. Chris asked one of the younger lads working to come and collect the bike from my car so he could inspect it, and tell me what would need doing. So I didn't need to carry it in myself and up the stairs!! Chris then immediately inspected the bike, and tried to see if he had the parts in stock. Within 5 minutes, he gave me a quote for the work and said he would be able to fix the bike before 5pm today. I was absolutely over the moon andvery impressed with the price too. At 3.30pm I received a call to say that the bike was ready for collection. Far sooner than I had anticipated. The service from start to finish was incredible. I will 100 percent be returning and recommending Halfords as the go to place for bike repairs to anyone who asks moving forward. Thank you Chris and your team 😊

Visited for an MOT (my first!) and Stuart was a delight. Warm and friendly mannerism and an easy man to talk to. Left my car with the guys and wondered into Swindon town center whilst they did what they needed to. Received a phone call an hour later to say everything is done and to come back. Stuart walked me through what was done, advised on anything that I should look into doing soon-ish (new tyres) and also provided a quote. For my first MOT it was a great experience!

Hi Swindon Halfords… Firstly your staff are very very helpful. It was 4:55pm (22nd November) and I turned up outside with a headlight out (very stressed). I went inside and was pointed towards the headlight bulbs (h4) straight away by the guy in a high vis, was given short but informative advice on which bulb to go for. (perfect service, not loads of waffle asking me to buy things I don’t need). Then was taken to the till, lady on the till, very quick on the till (great service). Then I thought it was all over, when suddenly as I was fitting it by the door and things weren’t going great. A lad called Eston (sorry about the spelling, asked for his name) saw me getting annoyed at the wires tangling up around the clip, so he very kindly offered his help at 5:04pm when he should have been on his way home and quickly plugged it all in, in seconds. Me being a car guy, I have a lot of patience but tonight really wasn’t going well, I know how to fit bulbs, but was just getting so annoyed. (Also made sure both bulbs were correctly replaced, with a quick test with him on the outside of the car). Eston, lady on the till, and the guy who pointed me towards the bulbs really did cheer me up, as I was frustrated and tired. These people today really should be recognised, although “only doing there job”. They ensured I am a happy customer, which will be returning. Thankyou Swindon Halfords. 5 stars for all of you on shift today! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I arrived at Halfords in a panic at 3.50 on Sunday afternoon after breaking down with my youngest son and being jump started. The recovery guy tested my battery which was no longer charging and pointed me to Halfords Swindon to get a new battery. By 4pm I was leaving Halfords after purchasing the correct battery which was such an easy process. The customer service agent simply entered my number plate into the system and found the correct battery for my vehicle. Once I purchased it the friendly and efficient staff replaced it for me. This immediate and straightforward service that happened while we sat safely in our car was invaluable and put my mind back to rest.

I originally ordered a bottom bracket for my bicycle via a trader on Amazon, The bottom bracket turned out to be the wrong size and defective (bearings made grinding noise) despite my careful checking of details from the original component. The Amazon return label had an impossible address and cost of postage back to China would have been about £15. Nearly the same as what I paid for the component. Therefore tried Halfords next. Had to order online as the Swindon store did not hold one of the correct size. The item arrived sooner than expected, it had the Halfords own branding and felt to be actually of a decent quality. It fitted perfectly as a replacement for the original, and it was actually priced significantly less than the product from Amazon.

Martin was really helpful and got them ordered in within the hour he also explained due to high cost they offer a payment plan which softens the blow. They also now are covered for life even when I change cars which is a great scheme as I drive alot for work. Great resolution offered at affordable cost and saved me the hassle and time of coming back for re test and work again in another 10 days time. Would highly recommend. Mixed bag. The store staff deserve 5 stars for helpfulness and efficiency. The foreign call center that intercepts calls is a another matter. Didn't understand what was required and provided false information that a product I wished to buy was no longer available. 30 minutes of messing around on the phone for what should have been (and was when I was finally allowed to speak to the store direct) a couple of minutes. The website is also rubbish - it claims you can order car paint on line and that they will order paints not normally carried - but there are no working links that allow you to do that. Overall a poor experience offset by the brilliant store staff.

I cannot be complimentary about my initial dealings with Halfords Autocentre, Flemming Way, Swindon. I had book my car in around 3 weeks earlier, turned up early on the morning of the MOT test to be told, by a not very bothered Martin, that there was no MOT engineer and my car would not be MOT'd that day. He did say he had left a voice mail, which I did not receive, but could hardly tear himself away from whatever was on his screen to speak to me. After I let him know that I was not happy at all he managed to get me booked in couple of days later. The test finally went ahead with no problems but I felt there was no customer service at all initially. Martin simply did not care and was quite prepared for me to walk away, even though I had paid up front. Not sure even with the MOT carried out with no hitches eventually that I would use them again.

Came back 6 weeks later with a query and they were happy to take a look and reinstall a part (for free!) Online loses one star because I think the quality of service greatly depends on which member of staff you get - two have really known their stuff and two have been hopeless!

It’s Halfords, they have almost everything you need for your car or bike. The prices are pretty competitive with what you buy online and the staff are pretty knowledgable with most things. The only reason I don’t give them 5 stars is due to the fact that there is often a queue at the checkout which results in you having to stand there waiting with sometimes heavy items in your arms or at your feet. I’m sure they could modify this in some way to improve the checkout and then they would hit the 5 star rating in my opinion.

I took my wife’s car for its prebooked M.O.T. and everything went smoothly. A friendly welcome, a quick signature and that was that. Under an hour later I had the car back. The cost? 50p. Yes, 50p! Eastport in the year I took advantage of the £10 M.O.T. offer which necessitated a purchase in a Halfords store to qualify. I bought a sponge, 50p, and sent off the code I was given, plus £10. When I got the car back I was given a £10 Halfords voucher hence the total cost of 50p! Excellent in every way. Update: The car has now been to the same Autocentre for a major service. No fuss, no hassle. Everything done to a very high standard and the car was ready for collection at the designated time.

Used website to order new tyre & make fitting appointment at end of August 2020 never visited this particular store before had previously used the other Halfords AutoCentre in Swindon which has now gone. Took about 45 mins for new tyre to be fitted,guys were really friendly. Covid safety in place in store,sadly no where to sit and yet if you go next door to their retail shop there is plenty of customer seating,perhaps the guys just need to let customers know this,as would be helpful. Other than that no complaints on that ocassion. The following week I had to order another tyre due to my car failing MOT (elsewhere) due to an egg shape being in the tyre,ordered online & made appointment once again for fitting. I told they guy which tyre needed to be replaced and it was replaced at my instruction however when I got back to the garage,I was informed the wrong tyre had been changed,completely my fault and that the faulty tyre was still on the car so I telephoned store saying I was coming back to collect my tyre that was perfectly ok so the garage could change to the correct position. When I asked the fitter why whoever had fitted new tyre had not noticed there was nothing wrong with my tyre he said that most of the time they just accept what the customer says ie which tyre needs changing and that's fine because it was technically my fault but I would have thought the fitter should have noticed the tyre was perfectly fine and questioned my request ? The garage also said that they were surprised that considering I had had two new tyres fitted at the same place within a week that the fitter had not put them on one axle which in his opinion was normal practice. It's only a small gripe as the guys are really friendly but I was surprised that the fitter had not noticed there was nothing wrong with my tyre !
