I do not have a bad word to say about Halfords, they have been amazing every time I have used them. Called at 2.50 on a Friday afternoon as I had a slow puncture and was due to head down to Glasgow for a wedding that evening. They very kindly fit me in and managed to fit a new tyre all in the space of an hour. The receptionist was so lovely and extremely comforting as I was so distressed when I arrived, and the staff dealt with the issue so we’ll and kept me informed as to what was happening along the way. Thanks so much again Halfords ☺️

Unfortunately, I am perhaps a little hard on my wee car and continually break it.....Anytime I take it in the staff are helpful and friendly and the issues are always resolved promptly. Was allocated Halfords for my work vehicle service and MOT through our vehicle lease company. Dropped it off on Monday morning (1st aug) and was ready to collect by 2pm. Had some advisories so asked if these could be done ASAP. The staff were straight on to the lease company to get everything authorised, and I got my vehicle back at 5.30 on the Tues (2nd aug) which is a rapid turnaround when our lease company is involved. Great communication throughout, will absolutely push for work vehicle to return here if I ever need wore work carried out. Great job folks, many thanks.

It's a bag of mixed feelings for this, a week ago my car went in for it's MOT and failed, 3 majors and a minor. I paid for the tie rod end replacement, a new bulb, engine diagnostics (it was a known issue that I informed them of, which was a historic fault that kept being read) and wheel alignment to fix the minor issue. My qualm with this was that I didn't know what the position light meant (side light for those who aren't informed of the updated terminology) and when I asked at the counter they said it was the brake light - which the certificate said it was located on the front - so that was a bit off-putting. Got it repaired, MOT retest was completed and they had left the minor fault on there (Nearside track rod end slightly misaligned), which should have been taken off - I was informed that it was a mistake and they had forgotten to uncheck it... So there's no formal proof of it being fixed despite a signature on the MOT certificate that is handwritten, and obviously wont show up on online. Additionally, a week after this the offside ABS had broke - the same side which had the tie rod end repair, with no issues prior, and all I had done was slowly braked for the lights at the end of my street (I hadn't even driven 150ft). I'm not saying it's the garages fault, it is an older car so there is a likely cause that it is just from that. However, they did provide the diagnostics free of charge. It took longer than estimated for the repair due to a stubborn bearing, but it's back now and all issues fixed. I did have tyres fitted last year, and those were timely and reasonably priced - however the brake discs and pads had to be replaced and I'm glad they spotted the issue (I was shown the parts after the repair and they definitely needed replaced), and this was completed in less than a day. They performed well on this one. All in all, not the worst experience I've had at a garage, but not the greatest either. I'm disappointed that I don't have a formal record of the repair work being completed in the form of the MOT certificate, but I'm glad my car is fixed, and hopeful that there's no more surprises that I can't fix myself. I would say that it is slightly on the pricey end for the repair, compared to rates I had back before I moved to Aberdeen. Unsure if I will use this garage again, will have to mull that over before the MOT next year.

I seriously would not recommend using Halfords for any in depth mechanical repair, however all I needed doing was the gas taken out of my air conditioning system so I could skip all that parasitic junk. Booked a few days ahead, turned up at opening time, everyone was friendly and I was delt with politely and efficiently. Job was done in good time and very cheaply.

The service received at Halfords was superb - I got the car booked in the following day, and they got it fixed by close of business. The mechanic even came to speak to me to explain the work he had done. Super, friendly, welcoming team - can not praise them highly enough, and what a refreshing change from the typical 'it'll cost you - but not sure how much' approach of some garages - Halfords did it all for a fixed price. There was a comfortable waiting area for me to use. The MOT was finished in about 45 to 50 minutes. I liked the online booking process and the reduced price compared to the “full” price charged by main dealers.

I got the receipt handed over but it wasn't explained to me and when I looked at it when I got home it said a few things were Amber. Halford booked me in only 2 days after I called, and had completed the checks within 3 hours of dropping the car off. They were unable to resolve the problem completely, but they did not charge me for the work completed. Overall, happy with them, just wouldn't go to them for complex electrical issues.

During repairs more issues with the light transpired meaning the mechanic had to work longer. There was no additional cost, so i was delighted.

After having a minor accident. I took my car to be looked at. It had a few things wrong. They jacked up the car and checked out the undercarriage. They said something was wrong with the rear so they put a rubber on and asked if it would be okay to change the oil with a dip stick. The service was carried out within days of enquiring, using original Jaguar manufacturing parts. The cost of the service was approximately 50% of the main dealership quoted cost, which isn't to be sneezed at. My only disappointment, which is the reason I dropped one star in the rating, was the paperwork I received, at the end when I went to pick up the car it just stated it had been serviced. Their was no listing of what had been checked and / or changed out. The new Jaguar's come without a service book and requires the service history to be updated online. At the garage they did not know how to do this, however, after discussion with Halfords's online help support this was updated (by the online team) and all was well.

Went in for a free suspension check and it was free. I do worry about chain garages that have branch targets that you'd get ripped off or told work was needing done when it actually wasn't. Work carried out is of good quality and a reasonable price. The owner and the mechanics are always friendly, approachable, and helpful unlike the receptionist who can be obnoxious. She often provides ridiculous time frames or projects an extortionate price for the work pushing you to go elsewhere and does not endeavour to help you in any way shape or form, just looks to get you out of the door as quickly as possible. Despite this, this is still my go-to garage for car servicing and repair (as long as you're not having to deal with the receptionist).
