Very friendly, helpful staff. I would definitely recommend the garage to other people. I would have awarded 5 stars however due to Halfords computer systems going down my appointment was wiped off the system. Damian on reception did his best to rectify this and sorted it out for me but unfortunately it meant I had an extra 1h 40 minutes to wait.

I have always come here for my MOT's because it's the closest garage to me. The quality of work is good but their time keeping and organisation skills are questionable at best. Normally I shop around for any repairs instead of coming here because they can be unreasonable expensive at times. A few days ago, I had my window screen washer pump replaced by them. When I made the booking, they were adamant that it was a blown fuse despite me telling them I had already checked. I brought the car around to them at 8am like they asked. I called at 2:30pm to find out if the pump had been replaced yet, only to be told that the car had only just gone up on the ramps. If it was going to be left to until the afternoon, why didn't they just tell me to bring it by at lunch? I had to chase them up at 5pm to see if I could pick up my car, they told it was just finished with and they were about to call me. I decided to check my dash cam footage, the work took them half an hour. Why lie? Why keep my car longer than needed? From this point on, I think I'll only use them if I have to.

I came into the centre because I had an oil light flashing in my car. Damian was great. He got the car topped up with oil, and even topped up my screen wash at the same time. I would definitely use this Halfords branch again.

21-07-22 Had new brake pads fitted on my car. Once again excellent service from Paul and his team. The Service was first class. My son wants to use our old 2nd car to learn to drive so we didn’t want to pay a huge amount. We took advantage of Halfords free brakes and clutch checks. Our mechanic Dan was superb and explained that we had a problem with a front brake and wheel, recommended immediate repair of the brakes but to swap the wheel with the spare to keep costs down and give us time to source/ repair the wheel. His communication style was excellent he recognised we are not auto technical and explained everything at our level. This is our first time using this garage but we will definitely be using again and recommending where appropriate.

Needed work on the front of my car to pass its MOT. Drivers side coil spring was broken and needed to be replaced. The bushes on both upper wishbone arms were badly worn and needed replacing. This second job was a bit more complicated and needed more parts and more time than the original quote envisaged but the manager honoured the price originally quoted. Now got a full MOT without any comments about future work needed. A happy bunny!

Had my first ever MOT and service here. Was super nervous had my first car as new car so I have never had to bother until now. Kay and the work men were amazing and really friendly and walked me through the process. Took my car for an MOT booked in for 12.40pm, didn’t know the area or have anywhere to go to wait (didn’t want to wait inside due to covid situation just to be safe) and gents took that into consideration and said they’d get it done soon as, directed me to Greggs a short walk down the road to get a takeaway coffee! told me it would be ready for 2pm and on the dot- it was. Great service and very good customer service.

I went Halfords Acock Green to do wheel alignment and tracking for my car's front wheels. This was originally recommended to be done by KwikFit and they had already given me a quote as well for front and rear wheels few months ago. I was not convinced that rear wheels needed any tracking and so I decided to take the car to Halfords and made the prepaid booking online. I was pleasantly surprised when the mechanic Mohammed Hanif told me that cars wheels do not need any tracking and they are just fine as it is. He further spoke to the centre manager and advised me to get the refund. I am really surprised by this honest attitude as this was an easy £31.99 for them. I will use their service when I need a MOT later this year and will definitely recommend them to others from this experience.

I phoned Halfords Autocentre Acocks Green as the battery in our old car was really struggling. The guy (Sam) answering the call sorted out a replacement battery and I was very happy to be told I could drive over there for it to be fitted. I felt really safe when there as COVID precautions were brilliant. Both Sam and the lovely guy fitting the battery were professional and really knew their stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to use this Autocentre again and would highly recommend it. A big thank you for sorting our car out!!

After booking in my car for a combined MOT/service, the technicians found that a previous garage had fitted the wrong parts to one of the brake systems. They had to work hard to remove and replace these with the correct parts, keeping me informed along the way, even offering to stay late to complete the work as quickly as possible. I urgently needed repair/replacement of my car's exhaust system and Halfords were able to fit me in on Saturday, the next day. As before, the gentleman at the desk was friendly, professional, and easy to understand. The car had the centre and rear sections of the exhaust repaired and I was able to pick it up the same day. No more nasty noises! The charge was £275, but the gentleman advised that they could accept the payment by instalments over 4 months, which made it much easier for me, as a pensioner, and I appreciate the good customer service overall.

Another really good experience dealing with Halfords. Kay was brilliant throughout the whole process from when my car had broken down initially and I had to have it towed to Halfords, to keeping me informed as to what the diagnosis was and how they would fix it for me, to telling me exactly the work which would be carried and how long/how much it would take & cost. Cant fault the work carried out or the customer service which was provided throughout the whole experience. This was during a busy Christmas/New Year period.

Pros: reasonable prices, convenient location, work was carried out as expected, staff were helpful and even topped up my oil for free. Cons: wait time felt a bit excessive (over an hour for a single pre-booked tyre change), reception area smelled overpoweringly like the attached toilet, and I felt a bit uncomfortable that the manager seemed to be being fairly unpleasant to some of the staff (eg. shouting at them to stop singing whilst working. Seemed a bit mean).
