A very friendly, local, honest and reliable Garage. We have been taking our car here for years now and the guys at the garage have always been very helpful and professional with the work they carry out. Very accommodating and always fit me in even at short notice and very well priced. You hear many horror stories about other garages but you will never be horrified with the prices or service A Harris provide. Highly recommended.

Took may aging Golf her for the first time for an MOT a month ago. Had an ongoing intermittant issue with the ABS making it a failure before the test started. MOT completed, ABS sorted and still working fine. Good polite and professional service with a fair price. I shall certainly use them again.

I have been taking my cars to this garage since 2008 and I am happy with the service provided on each visit. The staff always go the extra mile and always ensure that I understand everything they need to fix and are honest with the price. The horror stories told about other garages frighten me and I am happy I haven't had to deal with that type of customer service. I couldn't recommend this garage highly enough.

First time i used this place a guy called ross helped me out and he was so professional and helpful I’ve been back for the last 5 years for MOT’s and other car problems. Great garage, always punctual and the work they carry out has always been top notch! Ross knows what he is doing when it comes to fixing cars!

I've been using this garage for many years. I have always had great service at a reasonable price. On a few occasions Mark has come up with a work around to a problem that has saved me £'s. I would definitely recommend this garage. When reading reviews ALWAYS check the date as they could be very old and out dated!.

I cannot praise this garage enough. I have been taking my car here for a number of years now and the service has always been impeccable. I have had horror experiences in the past with other garages and I can honestly say that A Harris cannot do enough for you. They have gone above and beyond for me on each of my previous visits. They have turned what used to be a daunting time taking my car to the garage into an enjoyable experience and I cannot rate them enough.

I've been going to A. Harris and Son for a couple of years after my elderly Landrover had a run of problems. They saved her from the scrapper! Since then I've had MOTs and repairs. They are good at explaining the problem that needs addressing and have always billed me an honest amount for the job. For example, if the part or labour ended up being cheaper than the initial quote then the bill was lowered. When there was a fault with one of the parts in a recent repair, A. Harris and Son managed to get my car booked in immediately to replace the part without additional charge. Also, not really related to the mechanic work, but in terms of customer-service: It was reassuring to see they had COVID-19 safety measures in place. Social distancing lines, hand sanitiser, wiping down keys and giving out anti-bac wipes for your wheel etc when you pick up the car.

Easily booked over the phone, and was in and out in under 90mins. Went here due to a recommendation and it lived up to expectations. If you have a Bongo, bring it here!!

i suspect that some of these reviews are from competitors. I am female and never felt ripped off by this garage having used them for 8 years (in which time, their name has always remained A Harris - they certainly dont "keep changing their name"). In actuality, i find many garages intimidating places for women as you almost feel targeted by the staff and pegged as a "soft touch". Thats why i use this garage. Because they DONT do this.The service is second to none (calm, non pressured but always polite) Recently my elderly mum was struggling with the warning light on her car which was indicating a flat tyre. Not only was this problem correctly diagnosed (an issue with the warning light and not the tyre) but it was then fixed within 20 mins. My mum was not charged for this. A Harris recognise the value of service = trust and long term customer loyalty. They are not the cheapest but they charge a fair price and you know the job is being done properly. If you pay for the cheapest, you are going to have short cuts. Pay a fair price , you get a fair deal. I know what I'd rather have. "Anonymous google user" above seems very heavily invested in "warning" us all about the dangers of using cowboys! I think perhaps they should focus on their own standards and stop trying to damage their competition! Rowan Haines, Woodingdean
