I have used Shaiklys for numerous different vehicles. The professionalism, customer service, pricing and all round capability is first class. I would argue it is better than main dealers. All the staff that work there, including the owner, go out of their way to solve any issues and they seem to have capability to work on all faults on all cars. I rarely write reviews but if you are looking for a reliable garage that won’t over charge and will be genuine, look no further!

They go out of their way to help you, they even collected my car from my home, completed the work and delivered it back to me the same day! Unbelievable! After being completely messed around by a main dealer Mic and his team were able to get my car in at relatively short notice. Mic was completely honest and transparent through the process. When my car was taken apart it became clear that the job had been misdiagnosed by the main dealer. This would have been clear however I wasn’t informed as the job would have cost double what it actually did. I can’t thank the team more for the level of honesty and craftsmanship. It’s fantastic to see that decent & honest garages still exist! It goes without saying that thanks to Mic's honesty this saved me over £1000! Wow!

In over 35 years of driving and maintaining cars, they are hands down the best, most professional, courteous, considerate and friendly garage I’ve ever known. The quality of work matches the quality of advice and the fact that they are upfront about cost, they consult on all jobs really make the customer feel they are in the driving seat (excuse the pun). Really excellent outfit. The most recent work that was carried out on the car was handled by Rob and the mechanics. A lot of work and quite a bit of cost, but at no point did I feel that I was getting anything other than sound advice and the best job for a decent price. I booked my car in for a service over the phone and was able to book it in for a time that suited me. I left my car there for the majority of the day and when I went to pick it up, the service was completed, my car had been cleaned and I was given all relevant paperwork and a receipt for my payment which I was also able to make over the phone during the day. Used these guys a couple of times. First time just a wheel change but my hand brake failed onsite. The owner fixed it for me without hesitation, even though it was due to fail anyway. Lent me his own personal vehicle so I could pick my son up from school. Bent over backwards for me, a real gentleman. I chose Shaikly on the basis of a recommendation. This was my first ever MOT so I was a bit nervous however the service was absolutely fantastic. I dropped the car off and was able to sit in the waiting room while the MOT was completed promptly. The staff were all very friendly and the service provided was efficient from start to finish. There was no attempt to upsell or pressurise me into paying for anything unnecessary. There was just one fix that was required to pass the MOT and it was very reasonably priced. Rung up Shaikly as car came up with EML, they got it in the next day and diagnosed the problem. Communication was excellent, Rob explained the issue and potential problems if the repair didn't go to plan, ie exhaust air temp sensor which are notorious for getting stuck. Works went better than planned, no issues and works came in slightly lower than quote, top service!

Absolutely unbelievable service is all I can say say the car goin for test drive after new brakes pads and disks mechanic came back not happy then had a few look at it went back out and came back he still wasn't happy been told that the caliper had seized and need replaced and got such a helpful female who has sorted it out and got mechanic to strip it while waiting for part. Xmas eve eve. Driving down to daughter in laws from Norfolk and the drive belt snapped. Son in law mentioned that this garage do repairs for his national companies fleet. This was the only garage that said they could take a look and see what they could do. I made it as far as 200 yards from garage and stalled the van. Not only did the mechanics push me into garage I later had a call to say van will be ready I morning. The issues I discussed were investigated promptly and I was given a thorough rundown of both the faults they found, and the next steps we could take to resolve the issues, the technician who looked at my car suggested multiple routes of action based on their findings. I found the processes very transparent and a pleasure to be a part of. Very nice people and professional workshop. I found my tyer was flat that morning. I thought it could be spined by something and the tyre was slowly deflating. I took my tyre to them and they did the water check. Fortunately, the tyre is just flat, but there is no leak. They pumped it up and charged no fee. Thanks a lot.

After trying out many different car workshops in and around Colchester, I must say Shaikly Motor Company blow the rest out of the water! I began using SMC 3 years ago and have never let anyone else touch my cars. Their service and quality of repairs is second to none. The thing that stands out to me about this company is their integrity, which is very difficult to find amongst this trade. There are reviews which mention price being a little higher than average, however, considering the level of service and the guarantee that the work has been done to a very high standard, it is well worth it. I’ve come to them after seeing the good reputation they have based upon reviews and I wasn’t disappointed. I’ve came to check my car after my trusted garage slap me with an invoice hard to digest only inspecting my car visually. So I came for an second opinion. Shaikly put my car on the computer and saw that I’ve had problems with two injectors on which they recommend me to change them as I was facing a long trip ahead of me. Also the major concern for me was a shakeup stuttering on the startup of the car (cold/start) where on further looking was my flywheel and clutch. I was well impressed with the level of their service and with the 13’plate ford focus they gave me as curtesy car whilst my car was in service. They went the extra mile for me on a short notice and time pressured by my fast coming annual leave. After 3500 miles done with no issues I’m more than happy to leave this positive feedback as they deserve it.

Recovery vehicle delivered me at around 2pm on a Friday, Sian at reception very helpful, booked car in and collected next day at 12.45pm....really great turnaround. Being a young girl who knows very little about cars I was apprehensive about choosing which garages I could trust, this one however is the most trustworthy garage I’ve come across so far! Having used them for an MOT for my car previously, when I needed some repairs doing I thought I’d try this garage again and they did not disappoint! I was given a no obligation quote free of charge before any work was done, along with free and honest advice from a mechanic. Whilst they can be slightly more expensive than other garages, the customer service here is impeccable. I cannot fault how well informed I felt throughout the whole process, with calls throughout keeping me up to date with the work. Despite a few very minor unforeseen setbacks (which I was informed about in a very timely manner, and which were not the fault of this garage) the work cost me exactly what I was originally quoted. My work van broke down and not only did this garage provide me with a courtesy Transit van (which was in near perfect nick) but they also made sure they called and discussed every step of the way through the repair. What made a refreshing change is that nothing was done or more importantly charged for, without first calling and speaking directly with me first. I can't stand hidden charges but Shaikly was up front, honest, more than reasonable with their prices and my van was back on the road in no time. This Is the best garage I have ever been to they are first class outfit from start to finish I have a camper van Talbot express she is 30years old and 21ft long not a easy vehicle to tackle but from the time I walked in to the time I left everything was explained to me they put a clutch in not a easy job and they actually took the time to show me the clutch out of the van and tell me what they was going to do since then my van has done the nc500 and she went up the mountain in Scotland with no trouble at all the clutch was first class they also repair the breaks also my van had been in another garage witch could not repair my clutch and made a right mess of it so first of all they had to repair the damage they had done to my clutch and my brakes my breaks are now really sharp where as before I had to pump them to stop after the other garage told me they was ok what I really want to say is these are top class garage and top class mechanics and very good price as well I really can't speak highly enough of them

This is the only garage i trust with my cars. I have used Frank Skaikly's since 2007, i have always been impressed with their dedication to customer service. I would never go anywhere else. Mick Skaikly is a true gentleman, he has recently saved our holiday by fixing a clutch on my Nissan Navara within the same day, i had the truck towed by RAC to the garage, he put multiple workers on the job immediately, he literally put everything aside for the day to ensure i could drive away the same day, the clutch had been fitted by the team only 6 months ago and had failed, it was suspected that my towing habits may have contributed to the clutch failure but Mick replaced it and didn't charge me a penny. It is very rare that you get this level of integrity in the customer service world. Mick takes a lot of pride in his reputation and he thoroughly deserves it. Mick even took me for drive after and gave me a little lesson on towing an using clutch to avoid damage, such a great chap. Thanks for your help Mick, without your team we would have not had a holiday, this year, you really saved our bacon and god knows how much money !!! Simply the best garage i have ever used.

Pay a little more for an m.o.t. But you get what you pay for! My car would of failed on a couple of minor defects but inspector sorted them out so the car would pass! Great service and well value for money! Great staff and warm welcome! Would use again!

Great Advice on an additive called TUNAP. I took my 2015 Range Rover Vogue to them with the engine management light on in limp mode and with a terrible shudder when started from cold. While it was there I also asked them to carry out a full service, which was very competitively priced. Rob diagnosed the fault as a fuel delivery/boost fault, which could have resulted in extensive and expensive work (injectors for example). Rob recommended doing the service and adding a fuel additive called TUNAP 183 and running it for a few hundred miles.
