Took my car for annual MOT on a £30 offer - they did it in one hour and the car passed, which is as I expected as I take it for servicing regularly. They phoned me on my mobile when the MOT was done so I could go pick up the car, although I nearly didn't answer as the phone call was from a Private number. Booking was easy online. So nothing outstanding but overall pretty ok - though a bit thrown by the negative reviews from other users.

Really lovely service from everyone at Halfords Southfields. I felt like my car was in good hands every step of the way, very friendly employees. It can sometimes be daunting taking your car to a mechanics, especially as a woman, but I always feel safe with halfords and trust that they are doing the best for me and my car.

They done a major service as required, however I have some serious doubts around one or two. Upon completing a major service they said that many of my electrics flagged up during the diagnostics which they linked to my car battery., however their battery tester was conveniently out of service. They then referred me to their local retail store to have my battery tested.. My confusion and frustration lies in the fact that they did not have a functioning battery tester which rules me out from ever using their service in the future. Secondly, their uncertainty in my dashboard continuing to persist with a warning symbol signalling to stop my vehicle due to engine issues. Although they said my initial engine issues has been resolved, their uncertainty about it popping up again has all but confirmed I will never go back there. All they said was I must continue driving the car as much as possible to charge the battery

Left my vehicle into the Southfields Branch for a service and an MOT. I arrived first thing in the morning. I was seen straight away. I was expected, and was informed of the schedule for the work. I was called as soon as all the work was completed. Very efficient. It was my first time using Halfords for service. I was pleasantly surprised how good the garage was. I was given a list of things to watch out for. This work didn’t need to be done, but would be eventually. Along with this was a quote for the work if I wished to go ahead. This was not pushed on me, which I thought was a nice touch. It was just attached to the invoice. I recommend this garage. This was a good experience for me. Thanks Halfords Southfields.

Got an MOT and service for my VW golf. I had booked for the week before but missed the appointment (forgot - young child and no sleep!). They allowed me to move it, free of charge and we’re pretty nice about it considering! Did the MOT the next week, reasonable price, outlined the advisory’s and service issues but weren’t pushy with trying to upsell work. Would recommended for anything but a sports car or older car where a specialist would be best.

Recently had an MOT done and the service was very efficient. The people I spoke to were very friendly and explained everything to me afterwards. They even replaced my windscreen wiper free of charge. This was my second time visiting them and both times the experience has been great.

Good overall service. I liked that i got an invoice to my email. I dropped my car off at 11:30am and was called to pick it up around 5pm. There were so many vehicles parked that are in the car park. I think signs would be helpful. It was chaotic and confusing as to where I was supposed to park. The phone just rings, with no answer. I think the mechanic was overstretched that day, seemed a little stressed.

Top level customer service I’d say - honesty, no sales tricks or stories about “worn off pads and discs” - really trustworthy and knowledgeable guys. Took the car here for an MOT. Really friendly and helpful Manager who got a Motorbike moved to provide me with a Parking Space. He also advised me that they were running 20 minutes behind (nice to be informed). Got a phone called 95 minutes later, car ready for collection. A nice change from the normal BS phone calls of you need a new rear windscreen wiper, or the battery is below 80 % capacity and you need a new one, or some obscure washer is gone and you need to have it replaced (I have heard all of the aforementioned). I received a nice clear written report that advised me of minor damage to one of my tyres and a thank you for using Halfords Autocentres. Halford Autocentre Southfields is now my "Go To Garage" for everything and anything I may need in the future, vehicle wise. Another visit, this time for a tyre change, I had to change the date of my booking due to work, this was accommodated, the staff were super polite and helpful. This is my “Go to” place for anything Auto, I highly recommend

The mechanic who fixed my front window wiper was lovely and worked really, and even waited to test that it worked perfectly. But the man on the front desk was not very pleasant or helpful, first of all saying that my my wiper was likely not to be in stock, even though I pre-booked my appointment to have it fixed on days earlier. Maybe I caught him in a bad day? But he was not very informative and left me wondering what I was supposed to do....

Finally, a service and MOT for a 12 year old car that didn't have any surprises, maybe it was just 'luck' but after years of paying literally thousands during each MOT at the main dealer, it was nice to get a full MOT and Service for the price stated BEFORE I went in. Major service and MOT. Honest and competitively priced job. Would go again but complete customer service experience was mediocre at best. The waiting area is uninviting and almost non-existent giving the sense that it is actively discouraged. Staff seem underwhelmed. Perhaps management could visit other autocentres for a few tips on redesigning the area. Also, some effort is required to look at ways of creating an atmosphere that naturally incentivises staff to improve the customer/provider interface.

Can say nothing but good about the service from start to end, good customer services, including informing me one of my tyres had caused the failure of the MOT. Told if I get it done within 10 days, I can get it retested for free, got a matching tyre and returned a few days later, around lunchtime and the car was reseen in a matter of minutes and passed. Was told by others Halfords weren't that good and would find faults that weren't there but personally, nothing bad to say and would recommend, especially as the MOT only cost me the price of an air freshner as they had an offer for free MOT with any purchase #bigsmile

I would say it is convenient for locals. Situated in the Merton road, has lots of car parking. However, the receptionist doesn't seem welcoming and friendly. They hold my car saying that the work will be lengthy, so you can collect it tomorrow whereas they didn't touch my car until the next day as I went there to check whether it has moved from parking spot. This is not correct and the receptionist need to be honest. Otherwise I have no complain.

The quality of their work is excellent. They are honest, professional, and reliable. They charged me £ 29.99 for a wrong Air Con Diagnostic which I did not asked to be done. I had to come back the following week, I left the car at eight o'clock in the morning and they had the car all day without being repaired. At the end they charged me £ 80 all included for nothing. They just said, "we don't know how to fix it". Finally I had to take the car to another garage to repair and charge the Air Con of my car with £ 80 less.

I took my car in to the Merton branch this week. They were really helpful as I had to reschedule it twice. The parking was very easy there and has good security and the staff really helpful and efficient. Everything was very professional and reasonable and I will be arranging another service etc next year. This is one of the best garages in this part of London and fully recommend them.

This is my go-to place for MOTs. I find booking easy using the website; drop off and pick up is smooth and painless; and staff are friendly and nice. Work is usually done within the time frame they have suggested, making planning my day easier. Most importantly, I find their work honest and fair, and any recommendations for further work is only made if absolutely necessary (this doesn’t happen very often). I have used this service for 6 MOTs and 1 brake pad and disc replacement. Prices are reasonable and competitive.

My experience over the last 5 years is that the staff here are honest, friendly, efficient, and seriously helpful. The fact that their staff stick with them shows the Calibre of the management - and this is mirrored in their attitude to the customers. Clearly there are times when customers get costly surprises in terms of the state of their cars, but at this branch they are more interested in your and others safety. I took my vintage 1974 Fiat Abarth there for an MOT and they made the whole experience such a pleasure. They are punctual, super-communicative and efficient.They're rock stars of the car servicing and MOT world. They're passionate about cars and make the tedious process of getting your car MOTd or serviced a pleasure. Hoi is the technician who has looked after my cars most regularly. He is like a surgeon of cars. He explains what he's going to do, why he's doing it, the time it's going to take and then if there are any issues how to remedy them. He is super reasonable, efficient and delight to deal with. Highly recommended!

A three year old Mercedes that has always been serviced at the official Mercedes center passed its first MOT no problem - in and out in 40min. Can't say what it's like for other cars, but my experience was top notch. Then again - the car has barely 6k miles on it, so maybe different for others.

Had two tyres replaced without a problem. Rang up and spoke to Joe told him what I wanted and he said he would check if they could get the right size tyres that day. He called me back as promised and ordered the tyres for me to be fitted that day. Arrived at the time Joe told me to turn up and the tyres were changed in the time I was told they would be. They also went to the trouble to top my screenwash up for free and replaced the locking wheel nut back in the bag and in the glove box. Tempted to have a full service at this branch because as I was waiting for my tyres I watched the other guys in action and to be honest they were on the money.

Had a winter check for £39.00 rather than £79.00. The service came complimentary with a 5-piece winter pack of ice scrapers, windshield washer protection, demister, etc. I find Halfords customer service a bit 'rough', this one was no exception, especially compared to Kwikfit. In the whole, though, I was satisfied with the service. The car overall rating was good. They recommended a a new back-window wiper. They said they had none in stock, but suggested to get one from any of their retailers and they would change it for me.

Also, I was advised to read my owners manual, can't believe I never thought of that. Honestly, bloke on counter was very knowledgeable about cars and made me realise I actually know nothing. Our BMW started making the most horrible thumping sound when travelling at over 50mph. Our usual garage said get the tyres checked, and our regular place has shut down. My husband suggested Halfords, as I didn’t realise they did tyres. The guy in the office was really nice to deal with, and once they’d found the problem, he invited us through to the workshop to see the distortion in our rear tyre, which was causing the problem. He recommended a new tyre that was way cheaper than the last new ones we had, and even talked my husband out of renewing all the tyres, as he didn’t think they needed replacing yet. They correctly diagnosed the problem, sorted it out quickly and cheaply, and were nice to deal with.

07/07/17 - Halfords (Southfield, London branch) Good and honest garage. Aircon serviced and now cools like a dream. Told me to come back any time if there were any problems. Very good customer service. Will use again. **Update 13/09/17 - Had to take car back to Southfields as the aircon stopped working. The mechanic conducted his checks and eventually diagnosed a loose connection which was slowly leaking gas. Connection secured and aircon recharged all for free.
