Couldn’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking for a cheap reliable local independent garage! My car had failed it’s MOT and it was going to cost a fair bit so I phoned around the garages in the local area and this garage gave the best price by a mile and said I could bring my car in the same day and leave it with them. They had it for less than 24 hours which allowed me to get a free retest from the original place I went to (Kwikfit) which was so nice as they easily could have made it last longer so that they could do and charge for the MOT (they did say they’d be able to do me a MOT for £20 if it did take longer which was also very nice of them). All in all they did an amazing job and I couldn’t recommend them enough!

We've used this garage a few times. Great guys! we're trying to sell our old car so we took it in for a check as the engine light was on, we met Eddie, who was great, plugged in to machine and advised no faults and turned the light off. When it came to sell, the light came back on, I called Eddie who was great and advised the buyer the issue was a faulty sensor and the car was fine. Thank you so much, very kind of you to take time out to explain this to the buyer!

Been taking my car here periodically for 4 years. I move around a lot so end up going to different places across the country, but these guys do a good job at an excellent price. Easily accommodate you at short notice, clear about problems and happy to explain it, and near enough to walk into the city while it's being done. Friendly guys too and always polite to the missus, would recommend for economic car maintenance.

Top marks to Bank Top Garage. The cars line up at 8.30 and file in as soon as the gates open. Located half way down Stepney Bank, it is easy to drop the car off and walk into town from there. Michael and his team give consistently transparent pricing, itemised bills and keep to the agreed price. They will always call you to discuss if anything comes up too. When my car broke down it was brought to there and they had it back up and running the same day. When I forgot to ask for the service with the MOT they fitted it in no problem despite being super busy. I've found the people lovely, the professional can do (and they always come up trumps for you) attitude and the honest and transparent pricing combined with a vast knowledge of anything to do with cars always gives you peace of mind. And other customers I've spoken too there have had the same experience. Just a great garage.

Bank top staff are friendly and want to make sure you get the best deal. I have seen them for a few issues and the prices seem a lot fairer than other places in town. Unfortunately my last issue couldn’t be fixed but the staff ensured me that if I have more issues they will help me get my car off the road and help buy a new one.

Rang this garage after ringing around Newcastle and they gave me the fairest price unlike others who tried to rip me off. Really lovely people who fixed my car, didn’t overcharge me and explained everything that happened. Very friendly staff and exceptional customer service. They won't rip you off. I took in my 2 year old Hyundai i30 after Evans Halshaw (who did my 1st 2 year service) told me that my rear breaks were on 85% wear and needed replacing soon. This seemed odd on a 2 year old car. They wanted nearly £200 to do it. 2 months later ( I figured the breaks would be near their end by own) I took the car in to Bank Top garage. They did a full break service (front & rear) & phoned me to say that there was absolutely nothing wrong with them and that they would not be charging me. This is real honesty. No rip off culture. I highly recommend the team there.

I recently took my Mercedes CLS to Bank Top Garage for an MOT and replacement battery and wiper blades. I was delighted to find the total cost was about a third of the price quoted to me from my local Mercedes Benz dealer. All of the work was performed while I waited, very quickly and without fuss. I found the staff to be extremely courteous, knowledgeable and efficient in their work. I would definitely recommend Bank Top Garage to anyone looking for vehicle repairs and maintenance. Fantastic garage. I came across this place on Google after a horrendous experience with a main dealer, and the guys here fixed the problem for literally a tenth of the price the dealership wanted. I've been back for everything since, and they've always been lovely, fair, and affordable. When I came in with an electrical fault recently, they recommended a great guy outside the garage who did a top job too, also affordable. Cannot recommend these guys enough.

I am an owner of a Fiat 500 which recently needed a MOT and service. I was recommended to go to Bank Top Garage by a friend. I can not praise the men who work in the workshop and office enough. They were friendly, helpful and explained what needed doing to the car - which being a Librarian with no mechanical knowledge - takes some explaining. Another bonus was that the work was not too costly. I would highly recommend this garage.
