Thank you for doing my Aircon today. I was surprised to hear that I need to do a diagnostic every single time I do the air con (aka I was told every 2 years) whereas friends have just said I just needed to get it regassed for roughly £60 without the diagnostic. Being a female without car knowledge, I go with what the professionals say which meant I had to pay more. *Glad it's done though. But if you can confirm for all to read, is diagnostic absolutely necessary every 2 years? As I'm unsure if your receptionist just got me to pay more or my friends being a cheap skate for not needing diagnostic (I'm having to learn, as ex used to do all the car maintenance)

Really happy with the service, it was better priced than the other garages, the staff were kind and polite. After the wheel alignment there was not straight so they booked it in a suspension check for free and found the underlying issue which was really helpful.

Easy to book and quick to complete the work. My only issue is the location, which is difficult to get to and is crammed in with lots of small businesses. Parking is a serious issue and I did worry about accidental knocks - but the car fortunately emerged unscathed. Basically they need bigger premises.

The young man at Reception was so charming and kind assuring me that if they could help they would. One hour later my car had a new MOT courtesy of the excellent mechanics. I went down to Halfords without booking an appointment and was greeted by Mark who then got Rabo to look at my car as I needed one of my break lights fixed. Rabo was really lovely and super helpful and fixed my car in no time - he even checked my oil levels for me just in case. Online booking was easy and straight forward, tyres are now nicely fitted. Why I did get repeated reminders to be there 10 minutes early for my 8:30 appointment just to learn at 8:20 that the tyre technician would not be in before nine is a mystery. I ended up standing around for 40 minutes since there is nothing else to do there. If I had known I would not have booked an appointment in an industrial area.

I had a very good experience at Halfords Autocentre Oxford. Paul was very helpful and explained to me what my car needed and als advised me about the payment plan. To my surprise, when I arrived to collect the car he told me they managed to fix one item without having to replace it (it was the most expensive part I needed to replace) and my bill reduced a lot because they cared to fix it. The other guys were also very friendly, I just didn't catch their names. I will see you again next year!

Didn't get a phone call this time to say it was done as they were really busy but when I went to collect (about 1.5 hours later) they apologised and the advisories explained. No pressure to get the advisories fixed there and then. They just explained it would need to be done soon. Good value for money. Good contactless service due to Covid-19. Just had a car service + MOT, and have to say I'm always a bit cautious as a young, single female, as I figure I'd be easy to scam by the mechanics. First impressions: the guy at the desk was very pleasant and helpful and agreed to call me if any work whatsoever needed to be done. He did call and informed me of three recommended (but not essential) bits of work that came up during the MOT. I told him that I didn't want to have any extra work done at the moment, and to his credit there wasn't the slightest pressure. The car was done exactly on schedule, with no unexpected costs. I love this place! I've taken my car here three years in a row for its MOT and they never rip me off. I've also had my spark plugs changed here due to a problem I was having and it was significantly less than I was charged the first time I had the problem and went to another garage. More importantly, the guys are always SO FRIENDLY even though you can see they're rushed off their feet. Mark, in particular, is always super helpful and friendly. In the past Nick was also amazing and a pleasure to see when I came in (I don't know if he's still here as I didn't see him this time). Scheduled a full service at 1:30pm and was hoping to get the car by by late afternoon, then received a call saying my car wont be ready until the next day. Planning and Turn Around Time on servicing a car DEFINITELY need to improve or hiring more mechanics to do the job as this is not the first time, it had happened. Customer Service was rather friendly and informative.

A very busy place, which often leaves their customer service standards somewhat lacking. Some of their repair work was also a bit shoddy. However, in the important areas I am happy with the work. Specifically: They lost my MOT appointment, and had to come back a full week later with only £10 discount given. They are hard to contact by phone, and you often have to wait a while when there even in person. Re: the repair - I had a panel a bit detached and said to try to reattach it but if its too difficult don't worry. Their solution was to put some tape across it, which made it look worse and fell off a day later anyway. The important aspects - service, brake replacement - i was happy with.

If you are after a cheap MOT or work on your car this is a great place to go as long as you aren't on a strict time limit to receive your car back. I put my car in today for an MOT and interim service. The price I received was by far the cheapest. I took my car in first thing this morning and was told it would be done by 1ish. I got a phone call later on where Mark informed me before the time was reached that my car was due to be ready that it would be done by the close of play due to staffing issues. Going into the branch I could see he was very busy and empathise with his position. Whilst obviously having a full workload he still took the time to be courteous, polite and professional. I have tried previous garages but this one is much better for its commitment to appointments apart from ’one-off’ occasion one year ago when I came in time and I was told they are short in staff. After a few times of getting your car checked and or fixed by their mechanics, the next steps will become easier, as they will be responsible for the early fixes they have made. consequently, the MOT pass with time will be more guaranteed and of course cheaper than other garages MOT’s and interim service. Few diagnostic mistakes and over price for mistakenly removing the tyres locks without replacing them did occur, when I first time visited the garage 2 yrs ago, and that is why the minus one star. Otherwise, now I trust their service and they have refunded the fees incurred for a previous faulty air cooling repair. Once you 've become familiar with the garage dynamics, later checks and repairs will run smoothly. some of the tyres are of the same AA price and some are more expensive, so it depends and you will need to check online, otherwise, their tyres fitting and balance/realignment is pro. I guess they have made some improvements thus if I was to rate it based on today’s and last time service I would give it 5/5 stars. I have got breaks repair for life which I like and they can be generous at times they do seasonal checks. Also, unlike others, I had my car checked a couple of months ago in a free online service for a mild noise on driving, they did a thorough check and were honest ’unlike others’ when they told me they could find no defect and no repair is needed. If they keep going with an honest and good service over the next visits I will change my rating to 5 stars.

Wasnt clear when I booked a major service online that it included an MOT which I didnt need, but this was deducted from the cost.I was consulted about additional issues, which I had expected, and they looked into a couple of things I had identified when dropping off. This place was a god send for me!! I’m not from the area and had issues with my car whilst driving through Oxford. Mark on reception was so kind and helpful, (he also was very good at calming me down as being pregnant, I was rather emotional) and even though they had many cars in on that Sunday afternoon, Marian was able to sort out my problem within 15mins which meant I got to carry on with my travels. Been here twice - the first time (Mar 2018) the guys seemed overworked and found it difficult to pin down a time for the job to be done - I think this was more Halfords' fault as they seemed to have too much booked in. Second time (Nov 2018) was perfect - job started immediately, finished within specified time, and good recommendation for the cafe down the road.
