I took my car to do an MOT but it didn't pass it. There was multiple things that needed doing and they had my car ready that same afternoon. They were all very kind and helpful, patient and understanding about me having 0 idea about cars. Definitely would recommend (already have talked to friends about them).

Fortunate to have found this garage and have used several times now over last couple of years for MOT & odd repairs. This week the mother-in-law visited from the East of England and had an electrical fault on the way down. She had to get recovery and we recommended she take her car to Gregory’s. Car was left in middle of night with keys posted. As usual staff super helpful, got in amongst the problem quickly, were very honest, reasonable price for work and mother-in-law returned home next day without any issues! Strongly recommended! Can not fault the service I have received from Adam and the team. Contacted them about an MOT (last minute as always!!) and they booked me in for the following morning, although it didn’t pass they were able to source the parts and fit them the same day and at a very reasonable price. I took my car for a service and paid £600 and had to get a couple of things done. Two new tyres and a piece of exhaust replaced. A week later I had so many noises coming from the car that were not there before I went back because I just had a service. There was no discussion about that but instead I was informed that I had a new problem not noticed during the service. I worry how thorough the service was. The cost quoted for the new job was more than £300. I went elsewhere and had the job done for £150. That’s a massive difference.

So I’m female, I don’t know much about cars and I was about to buy my 67th mistake 🙄 I was recommended to Gregory from a friend, to do a health check on the car before I bought it and my god I’m glad I went 😂 I spoke to hugh on the phone - legend. Even though they were rammed, I explained my situation and he told me to come in anyways and they will fit me in as he wanted to make sure I was getting what I paid for!! Shaun then checked the car, told me the faults and how I should go about netting my money back 😅 not only did he do this for me, he contacted a friend of his own and got me a new DECENT car lined up for next week, which is was not expecting at all! Was told by a member of staff that if I used the finance company Bumper.co.uk to pay for my work (in installments) they'd have to charge me an extra 15% 🤔 Later Bumper called me to find out why I'd not used them as agreed, and upon hearing the reason said that was not the case and the garage should not do this. Id already agreed to pay AGregory directly for the work when addition issues arose, they helpfully called me, telling me it'd be extra, when I said I didn't have that (hence trying to use a finance co) the were able to then repair the broken parts, but I still have a engine warning light on. Update: The Garage contacted me as were alarmed at the finanacing incident and have agreed to help.

We live near Bristol and our daughter is at Plymouth University. Her car suffered a front suspension failure and also needed a new tyre as the spring had punctured it. I travelled down to collect her and take a look at the car, this was a Sunday. Confirming the damage I tried a few local garages, unsurprisingly, none were answering. My final attempt was A Gregory Service & Repair. The telephone call was answered by whom I presume to be the proprietor, Adam. Bear in mind this was a Sunday, Adam answered the call and offered that he come look at the car the next morning. The car was taken to the garage and repairs carried out, I was kept informed on process and completion. My daughter collected the car on the Wednesday. I have to say this experience was first class customer service; available in an emergency, helpful, reassuring, professional and the cost of the work was very reasonable. I’d like to thank all the team at A. Gregory Service & Repair for their care and attention.

My partner and I have been going to this garage for nearly a year now since moving to Plymouth and I cannot rate them highly enough! They're the best garage I've ever been to very professional and friendly. Always get the work done to a great standard and in a quick time frame! They always take their time to explain issues with you to make sure you understand and give a full costs breakdown, super transparent business. And as a woman, going to garages has always been a slightly daunting experience with owners and workmen usually trying to take advantage and being rude and disrespectful but this has never been my experience here. The chaps here are second to none and are the only garage I would use in Plymouth. Couldn't recommend this garage more!

I had my vehicle back from a main dealer with a hefty quote of repairs, they looked at my vehicle, repaired it to an exceptional standard and in a great timeframe. Went to Adam for an MOT on partners car as had been quoted an extortionate amount at another garage. Not only did Adam book the car in quickly but was very friendly and helpful not to mention over £200 cheaper than what had been quoted before. The MOT revealed extra work needed to be done which was carried out again at a very reasonable price. A top mechanic and the only garage anyone should consider for their motoring needs.

This garage saved me! I phoned many garages in cornwall and plymouth, also had 2 mechanics check the car, and as soon as I explained or mentioned the problem and diagnosis I was given by the first garage I went to originally they all pied me off. I need to see a diesel specialist, or the fuel pump would need coding, too complex/too busy due to lockdow/backlog etc etc. I gave up and the car sat idle for 2 months. I was about to get the vehicle scrapped as I felt it wasn't worth the repairs, it was gonna cost me more than the car itself. Then a friend recommended me this garage. I went for it, but last time. Called them up, and despite being busy they took my car, had a look at it. Fixed the problem on the same day! And it only cost me £85 cuid! From the alleged £1k I was originally priced from another garage. If you want an honest, professional service go to Gregory's. I've taken my car back again since to have another repair and again super fast, super affordable and Adam takes the time to explain to you the problem, how they fixed it and how to negate it or prevent it etc. These people find a solution. They don't mess around. They don't mess people around. And they're very friendly. Based on my experience with other garages, and their lack of honesty, or professionalism, I 100% recommend these guys first and above any other garage first. They will always try and get your car to the garage when you've broken down ileven if they're busy or tight for space. And I've recommended them to family and friends. Having an honest garage you can turn to, that will genuinely repair your vehicle, and not fear being conned somehow is a peace of mind that you cannot put a price on.

Holidays saved. Excellent service, superb attitude! We (my wife and I) have been on holidays, going from Scotland to south England and Cornwall in our wee car. And it broke down We could not put any gear in (it worked only in gear 3) and were stuck in some small sea side village. We called local garages and they refused us or saying they have time in 2-5 weeks. Wow. We are f....d. By miracle we were able to get to Plymouth and we stopped by random garage. Little we knew that it was the best garage and mechanincs anywhere. A Gregory service and repair. I went to the garage and explain what happened to us. No call before or anything. Guys went to look at it and they immediately started helping us. It was an issue with gear linkage cable. And because we drive Chrysler it was not possible to get replacement. So what they did? They took it apart, fixed it on the spot with ingenuity. They worked on it for about two hours (and they had full garage of another cars to be fixed) while also explaining and showing what happened and what are they doing. I learned more about cars in those 2 hours than in my whole life. When it was fixed I asked how much do I pay. I was so happy we can continue on our holidays that I would pay few hundred pounds. And you know what? They did not want anything for it! I am serious. They said they wanted to help us and to enjoy our holidays. There were adamant about not paying anything!!! Since the repair (guys in A Gregory said it was temporary, but our service told us to leave it as it is a great job) we did another 1000 miles and there is no issue. So if you have problem with your car go to A Gregory in Plymouth. I am telling you these guys are awesome and helpful and they saved our holidays!

Excellent garage! Sorted out my leaking water pump on my van & replaced my timing belt. They knew I couldn’t work without my van and fixed it pronto for me! Was Visiting Plymouth for couple of days, had to have AA out to find problem with t5 van not running properly. AA advised to see garage. They recomenmed one but I rang a few and went with my gut instict with A Gregory. From the initial call the chap seemed genuine and was happy to diagnose the problem while I waited. As soon as he heard the van he knew the problem, AA man was with van for 45 mins and could not tell me for certain. It was a split on the intercooler, they ordered the part and fitted it half the price I would have paid at VW!!! Would highly recommend.
