I visited The Tuning Lab in March 2022 to have my Volvo C30 D3 (5 Cylinder turbo diesel) remapped. The Tuning Lab were the obvious choice due to their wealth of experience alongside their transparent approach to the business with their great blog posts and reviews. Joel was very welcoming and friendly, he treated the car as if it was his own and achieved a great remapped figure on the car whilst keeping it reliable and safe. He spoke me through what he did to get to the end figures and checked everything was good with me before finishing up. I drove away in what felt like a completely different car to drive, much more responsive and doesn’t stop pulling! I’ll definitely be coming back for any future work and tuning and recommending The Tuning Lab to friends and family.

The results of my recent diagnostic and mapping were far more than I expected. In my LandRover Freelander2 TD4 HSE(Auto), my overall MPG Improved 14 from 21 to 35 (average).(Best seen up from 26 to 40!) and on a long motorway run recently I was clocking 42.5 MPG @70 MPH Towing MPG up 7 from 18 to 25(average) Overall flexibility in a different league. It’s early days, but these figures mean the work will pay for itself in no time at all, which is heartening with the current astronomical fuel prices. Joel was extremely helpful and friendly to deal with, and I’d not hesitate to recommend his services.

Like to start off by saying Joel and his brother really are top guys! When I was at tuning lab everything was going well with the car till we ran into an issue. The issue was no fault of myself or Joel. He tried his best you fix this fault but sadly he couldn’t. This fault meant that I could drive the car. This is where they really stepped in and helped me. They offered me use of a car that Joel had recently brought (and had cleaned) to get me home. He also very quickly managed to replace the faulty part with no extra cost (though your mileage may vary) and got the car running in no time. He also kept me very informed. Ever since the car has been running amazingly. Power in all the right places. Never driven a car so smooth! 10/10 service. Happily recommend them to anyone looking to have work done with Joel and his brother. Thank you very much lads 🤘

Had a big problem with dpf filter regen on my Isuzu d max . Called tuning lab in the morning and got the pick up booked in same day . For dpf delete and a remap . Really good service. Isuzu now dose I lot more miles per gallon and pulls lodes better so much more torque . Really good garage to go to and I highly recommend them . I have been looking for quite sometime to get my Toyota Landcruiser remapped and came upon the guys at Tuning Lab. The reviews I read and recommendations I looked into were all superb! I travelled from Exeter and everything was fully explained to me by Joel. His knowledge and expertise were excellent and I immediately felt I’d made the correct decision to entrust my motor with these guys! They also have a waiting room with comfy sofa and drinks and snacks on sale at sensible prices so waiting for the whole Dyno and remap process could comfortably be waited out on their premises. In my opinion I’ve found a ‘Gem’ in this garage...something that has rarely occurred to me in my 35yrs of motoring-petrolheadedness! Anyhow, the remap has generated a great result to my vehicle, i found the drive back to Exeter was totally effortless and the extra Ponies and torque were doing their bit. Worth every penny, worth the trip and highly recommended!!

Where do I start, Joel tuned my Audi RS3 8P today, along with my good friends Audi S3 8V. Both were in for a stage 1 tune, my RS3 also having a DSG tune. I cannot express I how grateful I am for Joel staying on longer than expected, to get both cars running absolutely perfectly. The RS3 8P being a much more sensitive car to tune, it took a little while to get the perfect map, but after lots of map revisions it was bang on, well within safe tune regions but still making insane power! Thanks to Joel’s insane amount of knowledge, the car is now pulling like a train, and sounds insane with some great burbles added to compliment my new custom exhaust system. Joel is a brilliant host, super easy to interact with, and was more than happy for me to film the whole day so I can make a YouTube video about the whole experience! I’m sure I’ll be seeing Joel again in the near future for some dyno days once I’ve sorted an intercooler. I cant recommend the Tuning Lab enough! If you ever feel like you want to sell your car, let Joel have it for a day, I promise you’ll change your mind 🤣👌🏼

After getting my 2003 model year Discovery 2 converted from Manual to Automatic, and fitting it with a V8 Torque converter instead of the standard Td5, I now needed a decent remap to shift her along better. I contacted the Tuning lab and was not disappointed. Turns out they are Td5 enthusiasts too! If you have a Td5 and you want a good tune that will access more of the engines capability without sacrificing the components and smoking more than my ex girlfriend on a night out, this is the place to bring it. They have the full setup, professional operation. Friendly service, and you really do get what you pay for. I have once again fallen in love driving my Disco 2 and its thanks in big part to these chaps! I highly recommend. My D2 is now laying down just over 160hp to the wheels, which is over 40hp more pre turning, and over 360 newtons to the wheels, which is a whopping 80 nm more compared to pre tuning. Can't argue with those results!!

T4 remap it made good numbers from the tune it had already but I had made a few modifications since 1st run it made 138bhp and 283nm which the torque was down a bit I new it would be as I had to drop the injector iq to make it run right with the larger injectors he asked I was happy with that. I said I would like it tuned and set up properly not just a guess by me. So he went off sorted a map I said what rev range I use most and he put the file on and the next couple runs made 148bhp and 346nm which was will up. I was aiming for 150bhp however he said it was running well and happy at 148 so I asked if we could tweet the turbo a little didn't make anymore power just held on a bit longer at the end so we both agreed to leave it ther with very little smoke. After driving the van a few day it pulls hills even better you can feel it pull from about 800rpm less and the largest gain in torque was right where I told him I drive it 90% of the time. He was Aid with this set up it was 1 of if not the highest torque producer and with the gearbox being the weakest part he said he wouldn't want to push it much more. Well happy with the gains in performance even tho the bhp increase was only 10bhp but torque was 63nm which made the difference. This is a on van with 419600 miles Thanks if I need anything else or another custom remap I would go back again

Had my Transit custom 170 remapped by Tuning Lab to help with the amount of lag and lazy pick up. The van was put on dyno before and after mapping to show progression although the real difference is on the road where the van feels so much smoother to drive. 2.8 Hdi Peugeot motorhome remap. After putting up with constant gear changes due to a lack of power at lower rpm particularly in top I decided on a remap. Now after over a week and 500 miles of mixed driving both on local country roads and motorways I can confirm the van is transformed now pulling strongly throughout the rev range meaning far fewer gear changes and a much more relaxed drive. Also the first "fill to fill" mpg shows an improvement of at least a couple of mpg. So many thanks to Joel and Stuart, very impressed with both the results and the immaculate workshop.

Had my mk4 Astra gsi turbo tuned recently by Joel and Stu, other garages had turned me away before but not the lads at tuning lab. The quality of work carried out was outstanding. The car needed a few bits done before it was ready for tuning, id1050 injectors fitting, AEM boost controller fitting, 3.5 bar map sensor, air filter/ maf fitting and repairing a crack on the exhaust manifold. The results of the map speak for themselves, car produced some great figures (390bhp / 390ftlbs) and drives brilliantly. Communication was brilliant as the lads kept me up to date throughout the entire job. Highly recommend Joel and Stu at tuning lab, not only is the standard of work brilliant but the guys themselves are very friendly and welcoming. Keep up the good work lads!

If you are looking to have your vehicle mapped & worried about tuning your car safely & professionally look no further. My vito v6 was 204bhp from new with 80k on it at 9 years old. It made a very impressive standard 196 bhp before the base map was added. Then rolled 260bhp with 459 flb torque. Well what can I say about these guys, absolute gems!! From the moment you contact to the minute you get there, to the time you come to leave, these guys don't just make you feel like a customer, they make you feel like you're friends. So far had two cars mapped here and regretted not having both done sooner. Firstly was a Ford Mondeo st200 2.5 v6, mpg improved by about 7. Felt like a completely different car to drive and left being quicker than the standard 220 as well as being as efficient lacking the 6th gear. In turn this car has paid for its map in fuel savings. Just had a clio rs200 2.0 done and again the mpg has improved by 5. It may not seem like much but that’s a 20%+ increase. These are known for lacking torque but after Joel had finished working his magic, it now pulls off like the v6 which gives so much more confidence in the car. Especially in traffic!

After months of issues with my s3 , I decided to take it to tuning lab to see if we could find out more on the rolling road ,it turned out to have a terrible map on it ,which was making the car overboost and over fuel .After some advice of Joel and Stuart i booked the car in for a new map the following week , after spending the whole day on the dyno and multiple maps to suit my car it left driving like a complete different car . It was struggling to make any power until the very top end of its power range, even worse when towing our horses, it just died on the Devon lanes. The boys carried out various diagnostics until they nailed the problem and then planned how to sort it. It seemed a previous owner had removed the DPF and then had a shocking remap to try and bypass it. Joel did a complete wipe of my ECU and wrote a new map, after a few test runs she was running like a train. The truck was barely making 75bhp with about 130ftlbs of torque, she's now got a huge increase up to just shy of 190bhp with a mahoosive 465ftlbs or torque... Absolutely belting! We tried her last night towing a couple of the shires and it pulled like there was nothing on board. Can't recommend these guys enough, both are enthusiastic and skilled at what they do even on a workhorse like ours, a pleasure to watch...
