Went with a screw in my tyre, so not sure if it was punctured. Very helpful and pleasant man spent 15minutes removing the screw and checking for leaks. There weren't, so he wasn't charging; bought him a drink as he was really helpful. He even told me the opening times tomorrow should it deflate overnight, tip top customer focus!

Lifesaver's ... Been having a few issues with car recently the latest one was a nail in my front passenger tyre.
Thankfully they we're able to remove the nail and repair the tyre which was a much welcomed out come as it cost £25 rather than £147 for a brand by tyre .
Been here a couple of times and they've not done me wrong yet .

Great experience, no wait for online booking, dropped off first thing, mot and fully serviced by tea time. Friendly staff.
Only comments, they didn't let me know car failed MOT on number plate fault so I had to take it back after replacing the original plates the following day, but the retest was fast and done in about an hour.
Will go there again as the price was competitive and less than half main dealer.

The car was dropped in the night before so it was available 1st thing. It went in for an MOT and full service. As is the 'norm' the garage found issues so the proverbial telephone call to up the bill. A new tyre is fine (MOT failure) & warranted but the bill jumped by @ £200 from the original quote. This is not unique to Halfords but seems the norm with garages. I also had an unexpected wait on collection of @ 45+ minutes with the car sitting outside the workshop?? Explanation was 'paperwork' was not ready?? Friendly manager.

I had my Q7 in for a battery replacement, after the replacement few problems occurred. I must admit these problems were addressed well and the assistant manager and Ryan who worked on my car ensured that they are resolved. I had a new front passenger tyre fitted at this centre on Friday and was very impressed with the service. The young lad took my car in and changed the tyre without making any marks on my wheel. He was very polite and showed an interest in my car which is always nice being a car enthusiast. Work was done in less that 30 mins and it was absolutely painless. I have only given 3 stars because the staff were professional and the work carried out was reasonably good to an extent. However, I find the service to be very expensive. The technicians seem to always use the most expensive parts as first-choice option for repairs. Most expensive does not necessarily mean better. Also, it would be great if the customer was presented with options of parts with different prices for the customer to make a choice themselves. Lastly, though the fault was fixed in my car, when I got my car back, some other noise had started. The solution should not create or cause a new problem.

The guy that took care of my car was amazing, a few hitches as you'd expect as most people don't use main dealers when there cars are, lets say, slightly older :) Clearly mine needed some work on it which was completed to a great standard and i was kept updated on the progress. MOT easily booked on-line at a convenient time and location. Actual test was completed on time and at a very reasonable cost. What’s not to like?
I followed up my MOT visit a few weeks later to get a replacement battery. I dropped in without an appointment and the battery was fitted there and then at a reasonable cost.
Halfords is my go to place for non-dealer specific car maintenance as my experience is that it is quick, reliable and good value. The location of my local branch is also convenient.

Neeeded a car battery and fitting, went to my local Halfords shop and was advised that they held all batteries in stock and would be able to fit one. Didn’t have the time there and then so I ordered one online and got an appointment at 10:30 the next day.
Went to the shop and nobody there so called them and was advised I needed to be at the garage as they didn’t do battery fits at the shop. Drove to the garage and was advised that they didn’t ‘t have the battery and asked could i come back at 12:30. I said OK. Returned at 12:30 to be told they still didn’t have the battery, I was not pleased as this was the 2nd time I had visited and asked why they hadn’t advised me sooner by phone that they didn’t have a battery. No real answer given. I advised that i was unhappy at this poor level of customer service and said that as I was being asked to make a 3rd visit to the garage for what was a simple battery on a fairly common car I needed an assurance that it would happen. One of the guys said they would call me the next day and confirm a battery was available or not.
I was called the next day and advised that a battery was now available and could I visit asap to have it fitted. I arrived at the garage and the battery was fitted within 40 minutes. Guys at the site were spot on and very apologetic but the process and communication received was very poor. I did not expect to have to make 3 trips to the garage to have a common car fitted with a std battery. 1 on 10 for service, 8 on 10 for the guys at the garage.

Have been twice. Once for quite a big job and another for something very minor. On both occasions I have experienced good customer service and my car has been back on the road quickly and in a safe condition. The minor issue was more like a duty of care and I was not charged. That was kind and much appreciated.

Expensive parts. Battery prices are eye opening. If you have a small amount of ability, get ur battery online for next day delivery and fit yourself. Most are a 5 minute job and if its a super modern car, offer your local garage a drink to carry out a battery reset afterwards(not always essential). Save yourself a packet!

I heard a clicking noise on my car when driving with the windows down. I took my car to a different garage who barely glanced on the tyres, took it for a spin and said they didn’t hear any clicking and can’t see anything wrong. I still felt like something was off and not just in my head. Took it to Halfords for a free tyre check. They identified a unrepairable puncture in my rear passenger wheel. They said it had a rather large bolt stuck in it. They had the required size tyres available and quickly popped on a new one. The service was quick and efficient and friendly. I felt validated that the clicking wasn’t just in my head.

I rocked up without an appointment and an urgent electrical issue.
I only intended on getting contact info in order to take my car elsewhere. However the duty of care from the guys at the autocentre was unbelievable.
They started taking a look at my fuse box immediately after ruling out a bulb issue. They found the issue using their crazy expertise and a little initiative and creativity. 2 of the guys then got in their own car and drove to the halfords store, to collect parts I needed. 10 mins later they came back and fitted the parts and sent me on my way WITHOUT CHARGE!!
the 1 lad who worked mostly on my car initially came out and said we are charging you £80 and, honestly, I was getting ready to pay it no questions asked. He then said I'm only joking and that there wasn't a charge. I felt emotional with gratitude. We tried to force cash in hisnhands and he refused.
I will be returning with crates of beer thats for sure!

Quoted best price for tyres for Mercedes GL C. Tyres arrived on time and fitted including checking tracking in 75 minutes. Slight hickup with receipt and tyre pressures but all sorted quickly. Would use again.

This place has had all my tyre custom for my last 5 cars. Whilst always there or thereabouts on best price, it is the service culture that earns my loyalry. Personally, I have benefited from at least 2 goodwill puncture repairs over the years and i saw this repeated on my last visit for 4 tyres for a nearvous young customer. They are often busy and the waiting area is basic but this place always seems to do that little bit more overall. 10/10.

Have used Halfords several times and always been happy with the service. Unfortunately, I'm now a little disappointed. After asking them to check my car's non-working windscreen washers, and suggesting it may be a blown fuse I was assured that they'd looked at the problem but couldn't fix it, and that I needed an auto-electrician to investigate further. The following day, the problem was a blown fuse! Not sure I'll use Halfords again, as I feel that I was 'fobbed off'.

I booked a deflated tyre in for repair on Monday 19/07/21 at Preston halfords Riversway. The deflation was caused by hittng a pothole, so i was not surprised to hear it was irreperable. A new Continental EcoContact 5 tyre was ordered and fitted on Tuesday 20/07/21. The fittting included switching the new "Spare Tyre" to balance up the front tyres, and moving the used front tyre to the spare wheel. All work was carried ou efficiently and promptly, and mt thanks to the manager "Dave" for his polite and excellent service.

They will price match - after checking alternative quotes, but that’s not the point. They should quote realistic prices in the first place!

Had a flywheel issue with my Audi A4, halfords auto centre on Preston docks sorted it out. Very happy with the service. Dave was very helpful and very easy to speak to. He kept me up to date with the repair work and provided me with sound advice. Also just want to mention Andrew, who is one of the mechanics who worked on my car, really helpful showed me how bad my previous flywheel and didnt mind me asking questions about the car either. Its Halford so it's a bit on the higher end of the price scale but still somewhat competitive. The mechanics are all really nice though and will do what they can to keep the price down for you. The work is quality though and they won't mess you around at all. I will be going again for services and such.

Ford Focus needed an oil and filter change. Booked into Halfords, Preston expecting a long delay because of Cvd 19. However they said to take in at 08.30 the following day. All necessary precautions were in place and socialising rules followed. Halfords had to wait for delivery of specific filter but the task was complete within an hour. No advisories, all affected areas wiped clean and checked. Staff as usual were efficient, courteous and cheerful. Price was a great deal less than main dealers and Halfords will continue to be my first choice for car maintenace.
Update16 Dec 2020 booked in for MOT. Usual excellent service and proficiency. Advisory on front brake pads and fitted me in for 18th Dec. Doing a deal at the moment, get one set fitted and from that point free brake pads whenever they need future replacement. Check out at Halfords on line,

19 Mar 2021. Doing lots of motorway mileage at the moment and 2 rear tyres getting a bit low on tread so decided to have them replaced. Phoned Halfords (always my first choice) and booked in for next working day. I could have chosen to have an economy tyre fitted fitted but prefer a branded tyre ... Firestone, Michelin, Pirelli, Avon etc. delighted with the price and usual Halfords efficiency.

On completion, was charged £68 apparently because I didn’t book the appointment through the website
The other disappointing factor was the fact that the tyre fitter didn’t clean the wheel cover as it was covered in grease.

Used a "free MOT" voucher I got when purchasing something I was going to buy in store anyway so paid absolutely nothing for this MOT. Was a little apprehensive that as the test was free, they would find something that needed doing because nothing is free is it? Turns out that it is. Test was completed within an hour with no advisories and a full pass. They called me to say it was ready and could not have wished for a better experience. Would recommend going here for an mot even if I had to pay for it.

After the Halfords Blackburn branch refused to carry out my MOT, I used the Halfords contact centre to move my booking to the Preston branch. The guys at the branch were curtious and professional in undertaking my MOT.
Recommend Preston but avoid Blackburn.
