They just did my timing chain all in going to say is these guys are amazing probably the best Mercedez engineers I’ve come across, they did everything in 5-6 hours also very honest reasonable price. I called in just before Christmas with a knocking noise from the front nearside suspension of my A-class, expecting to book it in. The guy looked at it there and then and whilst the technician couldn't identify exactly the problem (it was the classic intermittent fault!) , as I drove away it was clear it was all sorted. Star was recommended by friends after some uncomfortable main dealer experiences. No frills service but amazed how experienced and cost considerate this team is. I believe the name Star refers to the diagnostics computer but it should refer to Ian, Mike and team who are the stars! I had a really annoying problem with my E63 AMG, when hot it would lurch at slow speeds and gear changes. Took it into to these guys and they quickly diagnosed a worn clutch pack and worked directly with the warranty to arrange replacement. After changing the pack the problem was better but still noticeable but Mike continued to dig into the problem and found a hidden teaching program from Mercedes to relearn the clutch pack totally resolving the issues and leaving me with an AMG that has not drove better. Highly recommend these guys, not only do they have all the factory diagnostics, they actually know how to use them and not just throw parts at cars hoping to solve issues.

Another gleaming review for Star here. Sign of a good garage is how busy it is and so there was a bit of a wait to get my car serviced but was well worth it. Found out about them from Ian, who helps people on the Mercedes Benz forum. He was awesome and gave me advice on my loose door handle. Now have the car back serviced and door handle fixed! I was considering trading in my e class due to age, but now I know this garage is "only" (15 miles away) I've changed my mind. It is clear these people care about their customers and are passionate about the cars.

I had an urgent request and visited the center today. It is normally difficult to sort problems with walk in and without appointment for your car but star happy to say, is an exception. The mechanic in the reception said he will look after the problem of the car, took the keys, sorted it in 10 minutes and has given my car back. He did not even ask for payment. I am sure he has been busy but he has taken care of my car due to the urgency of the problem. It is such a wonderful customer service and quick problem solving. Higly recommend. They are really good.

First time I'd used Star. They gave me an approximate quote over the phone but explained that if other things needed doing then it would increase, but they would get my authorisation first. When the car was collected it was app £100 cheaper than I had been quoted - and they had a loan car available, so I didn't have to wait. Great service.

I used to use the main dealer for my MB services but now seek out independents (more reasonable pricing and usually better service!) I recently moved into the area and Star came recommended. Took my newly acquired E class for a gearbox service. The guys checked the car over and told me the box didn't need servicing. They did find that the car needed some work and showed me underneath the car where the issues were. Even though they new that any work had to be completed by the selling dealership, and they were very busy, they spent the time showing me what I needed to mention. Appreciated them taking the time. Star Motors have maintained our much-loved W124 Coupe for the last 7 years as well as our ML270 'Daily Driver', Star recently diagnosed a faulty crank position sensor on the ML over the telephone (!) and within 24 hours had confirmed the diagnosis, ordered the part, provided a courtesy car and got the ML back on the road, earning it's keep. I have been a customer at the garage for many years and the standard of work carried out by these guys is amazing! Ian is a true gentleman and has lot of knowledge and experience with Mercs ! He's carried out many services on the cars I have owned in the past and even replaced the engine on my W220 S class in 2012! Recently, I have been having an intermittent issue with my Mercedes C350 AMG sport. Ian was quick to diagnose the fault as the temperature sensor circuit and carried out the repair immediately! Fantastic customer service again from Star Motors and Mike in particular. My car developed an issue with the steering lock which meant I was reluctant to drive it anywhere in case it wouldn't disengage. Spoke to Star on Monday, they had the parts by Thursday morning and said I could take it straight in. Mike swapped the part in about an hour. This meant I didn't need to get a hire car for the weekend so the great customer service and speed to resolve the issue meant I saved money. Again, I'd highly recommended Star Motors. After buying a secondhand Merc at the end of last year, it quickly started to experiencing some issues and Star Motors were recommended to me. I've had to use them for three different faults and all the guys that work there are very knowledgeable and helpful. They even took the time to provide me with sufficient evidence to obtain a partial refund from the dealer I bought the car from. I always have confidence in what they are telling me and always feel I'm getting value for money. Very professional and I'd highly recommend the team at Star Motors to look after your Merc.

I had been quoted for break pads and disks by another garage after being told that they needed changing. I have then visited Star motors where they have checked and disks and pads and have confirmed that they in fact did not need changing and both the disks and pads still had approx 50% life in them. They saved me over £600 in costs in work that did not need doing. Highly recommend this garage as they are fair, honest and complete work that needs doing to a very high standard.

Fantastic friendly staff . I explained the problem with my C-Class 220Cdi over the phone I was asked to come in the next day . I was greeted immediately by Ian and couple of his colleagues ( I’m terrible at remembering names ) . They diagnosed the problem there and then and given a rough cost . I was called to a day later to pick up as the car was ready . The whole experience felt comfortable and reassuring and I will be honest going into garages most people are not mechanics and don’t know what the problems are , especially with modern cars , so they are at the mercy of whatever they are told by the garage or individual dealing with your car . I did not feel that at all at Star Motors . They are friendly , professional and honest and I will be returning to them always should I need to . Highly Recommended !!! - I ended up having a problem losing power while riving on my Mercedes , I phoned Star Motors on a Friday afternoon , at 3pm and they close at 4pm , I was asked to bring the car in . Mike was fantastic and had the car up on the ramp at closing time on a Friday after a long day . He diagnosed the problem ( a cracked hose on the turbo ) . Had the part changed and the car ready to go within 45 min. Star Motors is staffed by the greatest set of guys you will ever meet . You are treated like family . Nothing is too much trouble , and more importantly you are dealt with honestly and told exactly what the problem is and charged very reasonably . I WOULD NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE !! WELL DONE GUYS ... The expertise of Ian and his team becomes value for money. I trust them more than any official Mercedes dealer. Firstly I went with an electronic problem which was driving me mad and took the car to several garages before and they solved 'spot on', in other occasion the car was loosing power and I was afraid the turbocharger being damaged, it was a bad workmanship from a 'cowboys' garage where I went to service the car a week earlier. Definitely recommendable, knowledgeable and competent. Moreover they have the cleanest toilet I have even seen in a mechanics garage. Keep it up guys!

Star have looked after my CLS for several years, routine services as well as a couple of spring breakages and they have always been friendly, professional and reasonably priced. They seem to have the equipment needed to diagnose and fix complex electrical issues as well as very good mechanical knowledge. I have used Star Motors for about 12 years with two different vehicles - I have always found them to be reasonably priced and very good on all the work they have done for me, from changing a headlight bulb on an A-class (trickier than it sounds) to replacing bushes and servicing my E-class. I got in touch with the company as my engine light had come on and I needed a NOX sensor replacing which had to be done my a Mercedes specialist. Imagine my shock when instead of being booked in, I was told how to get in touch with Mercedes myself and try and get the work done for free. I would have given a higher rating if they hadn’t just gone ahead and done additional work that they found without telling me or asking me if it was ok. To collect my car and be presented with a bill 3x what they had quoted was a big shock and if it hadn’t been so late, if my lift hadn’t already left and if I didn’t have a stinking cold and felt like death I would have refused to pay, as I believe is my right as they can’t just go ahead and do what they want to your vehicle without your permission and land you with a whacking great bill, 5 days before Christmas as well! I had a vibration (like going over rumble strips) when lifting off the accelerator in my C200 CDI that 2 trips to my usual garage didn't fix. Within 5 minutes of a test drive the guy at Star Motors diagnosed the problem to be a worn gearbox mount. Within 20 minutes I was driving out with the new mount fitted and the problem fixed. I was very impressed with their knowledge and service - they definitely know their stuff!!!

My Merc SLK230 went bang on the Motorway with me thinking the worst. After pulling onto the hard shoulder it eventually restarted in limp home mode. I took it into Star Motor Services who diagnosed the fault as an air valve being jammed but they were limited by the diagnostic technology incorporated into the car from 1997 and said it needed further investigation. It was booked in for today. I dropped it off fearing the worse only to get a call couple of hours later saying all fixed and it was a dirty Mass Air Flow sensor. BRILLIANT, so I went to pick up. I was expecting a bill for at least an hours labour (and would have been very pleased to pay this) but the chap told me "No charge, only took a few minutes to sort". I think this is the first time I have ever left a garage feeling guilty that I have not been charged enough. I think it quite rare to not be fleeced by a garage - these are good guys!

Very good. Had an engine fault light on my C350. Mercedes wanted over £100 to plug in the diagnostic computer and read the code. Star motors read the code and fixed the problem (replaced a part) all for £60. In addition I just turned up with the car and they did it right there and then.
