Recently took my triumph street triple 765 RS to get it set up by Mark. All I can say is wow! What a transformation, Mark explained everything he was doing as he went along and gave the reasoning and theory behind it all. He also gave his opinion on how to improve on the suspension further which I will do in the coming months, I would recommend getting a bike set up from him to anyone and any bike I buy in the future will be taken here. In my opinion the best £45 you can spend on improving your bike.

I recently took my 2008 Yamaha R6 to Mark at SSR and am very pleased that I did. I had clocked around 1000 leisure miles on the bike since buying it a few months ago, and with it being my first super sports bike, I had no clue what it should of felt like. After speaking to Mark on the phone, I instantly felt confident in his knowledge and ability and couldn't wait to get it to him and have the bike setup as best as it could be to my requirements. Mark went over each adjustment on the bike with me, explaining exactly what he was doing and how it impacted the bikes handling characteristics, which was really appreciated! Mark made sure the bike was setup for my weight and removed a lot of sag from the rear shock due to it being set for the previous owner. The bike instantly felt better, it was much more stable under braking and acceleration and after pressing on down the lanes, it felt like a different bike! I cannot recommend SSR highly enough and will be taking any and all suspension work to Mark in the future!

Mark at SSR Suspension set up my 636 for my weight and fast road use. The difference in handling and confidence in corners is amazing. Mark advised me on what I would need if I was to want even better handling, and the quote was a lot lower then I had imagined. Both my partner and I had the suspensions on our motorbikes overseen and altered by Mark today. I booked through his website and the whole booking and payment process was easy and seamless. I received a confirmation email with all of the information I needed about my booking and venue and reminder emails. We arrived early but he set to work straight away. Super Fast, SSR Suspension serviced and resprung my Ohlins TTX Shock from my Triumph Speed Triple, which was too stiff. The bike didn't squat enough and was harsh everywhere. Went to Mark at SSR Suspension, couple of weeks back for a suspension setup, very professional, Mark worked on the bike straight away and got the suspension setup. ride home and track day the bike was brilliant and transformed the feel and ride on both road and track, the track it felt very well planted and made a huge improvement on riding. I will without a doubt be going back to Mark for any future suspension work.

Amazing what can be achieved with a lot of knowledge, experience and a tape measure. I'd seen a review/recommendation on Facebook about Marks ride in/ride out service and after finding out it was only an hour and a half away booked a session. And I am glad I did. Mark explained everything that was being done as he went along, answering any questions that I had. Measurements were taken, C-spanners and screwdrivers applied plus plenty of experience. The end result? Possibly the best use of £45 on a motorcycle other than adding fuel. I thought my Street Triple 765R handled fine but with a certain amount of 'harshness' over bumps - but now. The difference is remarkable compared with how the bike felt before. Whilst it would be impossible to 'smooth' over the current state of our roads the ride quality is much,much better with a feeling of the suspension actually working rather than reacting. Anybody wondering whether this kind of service is worth it - don't wonder just get a service booked and enjoy riding your bike with properly set-up suspension. Very highly recommended. Couple of days later went out for a ride on roads I know quite well and can confirm that the setup has made a difference to how the bike rides and copes with the road. Very happy :)

Second time I've used Mark for a suspension set up although the first time on something he could really work his magic on. My street triple went in feeling a bit wallowy and lazy through the bends and came out feeling razor sharp. All settings were explained and advice offered on additional work that may be helpful with no hard sell. It's the best £45 you can spend when you get a new bike.

Went to see Mark to set up my OEM suspension on my Yamaha tracer 900. He took the time to fully explain my current set up including sag and rebound and how it affected the bike. He then showed and explained how he was going to set the bike up and tweaked both front and rear suspension. The ride home was awesome. He totally transformed the ride in around 30 minutes. The best 50 quid I've spent on motorcycles! Highly recommended.

Took a trip with 3 friends to see Mark at SSR to have my suspension set up on my Honda CB1000R for my height and weight. When Mark had finished working on my bike, (which to someone who knows nothing about suspension set up looked like a few twists of a spanner and a lot of pushing the bike up and down and me getting on and off the bike in the process) but was actually Mark setting the sag, the rebound and the dampening both front and rear. On my test ride after the setup the bike felt completely different. More sure footed and settled in the corners and did not dive forward on braking. Riding back via Wales with my bike set up for me i had more confidence in the corners and more comfortable. I cant thank Mark enough for his time today, if you have never had your bike set up for you I cannot recommend SSR enough.

Called into see mark today after booking a 'suspension set up' slot. It didn't take him long to figure out what my problems were and set about adjusting the suspension whilst explaining what he was doing and why he was doing it. When it was 'as good as it could be' we had a discussion about how & what further improvements could be made and at what cost but there was no pressure from mark to spend that money. The ride home for myself & particularly my wife on pillion was far better than the ride there and any rides for a good while before. An excellent way to spend £45 and good value too. Excellent service from Mark @ SSR Suspension; nice bloke and really knows his stuff. I rode over from Derby on my ZX-6R to get the suspension setup. The whole process took about 40 minutes and Mark talked through what he was doing at every step, recommended what might be done to further improve the bike (along with a VERY reasonable quote for parts+labour but absolutely no sales pressure) and a handy service tip to keep it in tip-top condition. Just having the bike properly setup for the rider has made a huge difference to the handling and the cost was a lot lower than I'd expected; probably the best £45 I've ever spent on it. I recommend anyone get their suspension professionally looked over and setup and Mark is just brilliant. It wouldn't be unreasonable to expect this level of workmanship, expertise and experience to come at a premium price but his rates are surprisingly reasonable.

Second time at SSR for a setup. First time was a ZX6R, and the results were really good. Much happier bike after Mark's expert intervention. This time I took my KTM Adventure R. If I said the handling was vague when I first got it I'd be paying it unwarranted compliments. Aim for something and you'd be Somewhere up to half a lane wide of your target. Now Mark's had a look at it She's totally transformed. Run over a 5p anywhere in lane you like! Awesome level of improvement. I cannot recommend this service, and Mark's knowledge and dedication, highly enough. If you enjoy riding this is THE birthday present you and your bike have always deserved!

Great service Mark really knows his stuff. Been to have the suspension set up for me on my 2008.Z1000. Wow what a difference it makes. Bumps dont feel as bad, the bike doesnt dive anywhere near as much under heavy braking and feels really stable and planted in corners now. Well worth the £45 and the 1 1/2 hour ride from Macclesfield to Telford. Highly recommended. Great customer service.

Mark re valved the forks on my Triumph Tiger800 then did a static set up, what a difference!!! Front end is more planted, rides better just need to get the rear shock sorted next so saving my pennies! Excellent work, friendly, good cuppa and very knowledgeable about suspension. Took a ride over to Telford from Derby to see Mark after recommendations from various biker groups to set up the suspension on my GSX-R 1000 because it was like riding a bucking bronco!! The bike is so much better and easier to ride and I feel more confident on it straight away. After calling round various suspension experts I found mark at SSR and after a brief chat over email I decided to ride over and get him to set up my new GSXR 1000r .. and boy am I glad I did , as soon as mark took measurements and started to adjust my bikes suspension I felt at ease he explained the process and talked me through everything he was adjusting on my bike , he then sent me out for a ride and the difference was tremendous, the bike felt better under throttle and heavy braking and the way it now tips in to corners is confidence inspiring, I always spend a bit on my bikes but this is the best £45 I have ever spent ! I have a 5 year old Daytona 675 and a previous owner had clearly messed around with the suspension, so a bike renown for its handling felt skittish and was making me nervous. Mark took around 45 minutes to get it feeling like a different bike, wow! I noticed the difference before I'd even got to the road and when I did my confidence came straight back. Even if you don't have any doubts about your setup it's well worth going and getting your bike matched to you. Mark is very knowledgable and explained everything he was doing and what the effects were. We had a good laugh all with free tea. Definitely worth 5 stars, but I think Mark booked in 2 other riders as well as me for the same time and I had to wait nearly 2 hours, that said its the best £35 I've spent on my bike. Thank you Mark, for a highly recommended service!

Just brought my Honda VFR800X Crossrunner back from having a suspension setup done. The difference is amazing, it feels like a totally different bike! With nothing but a paddock stand, a tape measure, a screwdriver and a hell of lot of experience and know how, Mark has changed the whole geometry and feel of the bike. A great service today on my S1000RR. The bike felt "normal" to me but I thought best to have a setup done before taking it on track on Sunday. All I can say is getting a setup from SSR is the best money you can spend on a bike to get instant results. The bike immediately felt more positive to turn in, greater stability under braking and the power goes down even at lean angle exiting a corner like it's on rails. Cannot recommend highly enough. The most recently pictured MT09 is my Bike. Lets just say its probably the best imaginable upgrade for an MT09. For one I couldn't recommend the K-tech upgrade enough & secondly couldn't recommend Mark enough to do the work. He managed to explain to my little pea brain how things worked. The suspension didn't feel completely right on my brand new Z900. Emailed Mark and he asked me to come Sunday morning at short notice. After making me a cuppa he explained to me what he's adjusting and showed me what it's like standard (rebound speed, etc.....) then he measured up the back and got me to sit on it multiple times while tweeting the suspension settings. This took about an hour, after that he showed me the difference with the new settings which is highly visible. Took for a test ride and noticed the difference instantly. The sag along was double of what it should have been and the rebound was way to slow on the rear. Now feels like a totally different bike (for the better) and handling is much sweeter. I couldn't recommend Mark enough. Definitely use SSR again for my suspension needs. Keep it up mate.

Went and saw Mark to get my suspension set up on my 2011 GSXR750 after having some new tyres fitted. Mark explained everything he setup on the bike, let me take it for a test and then made some adjustments on return. We elected for a fast road setup and it has transformed the handling of the bike. Will definitely be back for more work by myself and comes highly recommended from me.

Let's be clear, If you want clear and precise knowledge and advice then take what Mark suggests and don't question it. Obviously price cam be a major problem, especially in these times, but, If you want your bike(s) transformed, then Mark Standley offers a fantastic service! Marks knowledge base is extensive and this reflects the work ethic he offers, Mark explains the science behind suspension and wants the rider to have the best experience with his or hers motorcycle. What Mark doesn't know isn't worth knowing in our opinion! My bike was transformed with a complete suspension set up and this transformed the way I ride. Mark's suspension builds are built with passion and a desire to give the rider the best possible experience. We have recently had a Ktech suspension rebuild / upgrade on Rachs KTM Freeride 250f, this now sits at the exact height required and has received a spot on set up ready to hit the trails (post March 29th) We then 'swapped the bikes over' and left Rachs 2020 KTM Duke 790. Full Ktech spring / cartridge upgrade and Ktech Razor shock + complete set up. The Duke 790 sits well and now has full adjustability. We all go for the 'power commander or mapping' etc but we should ALWAYS look at suspension first and foremost. I have had a set-up and advice on my KTM Superduke 1290r and this has transformed my connection with the bike, mind-blowing! My Honda CRF250x no longer wants to throw me off - thanks to Marks advice and set-up. If you want 'cheap or my mate can do it cheaper' then crack on and do whatever you want, but if you want your pride and joy to respond to your input and transform the way you ride - go to Mark @ SSR, great & honest bloke, great advice, great coffee, clean workshop / facilities. Talk about value for money, I've just spent £45.00 and guess what? It was the best £45.00 I've ever spent. And icing on the cake, SSR Suspension are just round the corner from where I live. My bike, a Ducati 848 EVO, has always been great to ride, with one caveat, the ride always seemed a bit solid, like its previous owner had it set up for a track day. So, on a sunny day, I phoned Mark, who was able to see me that day. His knowledge is vast, and he explains everything he's doing and why. It seems my bikes suspension was, as I thought, excessively firm. Mark made a number of adjustments to the rear and then the front and sent me off round the block. The difference was night and day, even pootling out of the industrial estate I could feel it was different, in a very good way. Now the bike feels so much smoother. I went out on a 50 mile ride and the level of enjoyment has been vastly increased. So, if you feel your bike isn't handling as you'd like it to, give Mark a phone, and let him transform your bike, lots of us have. Many, many thanks Mark, a brilliant job and definitely worth every penny of that £45.00!

A very positive experience indeed. Mark quickly carried out a very thorough and comprehensive setup of my ageing VFR800 with Maxton suspension fitted. Having identified and largely corrected a significant discrepancy between my weight (happily, I’m too light!), the fork springs and preload and set the sag front and rear, I was invited to take the bike out to check how it behaved. I was blown away by the transformation. On return, further checks of sag front and rear and adjustments to rear preload and rebound were carried out and I was asked to ride the bike again. Now it was as planted, stable, nimble and sure footed on bends, roundabouts and direction changes as during the previous test, but the rear suspension felt both much more compliant and comfortable and more controlled over bumps. Between tests, Mark had worked out a further simple means of compensating for the fork springs being too strong and gave clear instructions as to how to go about doing it myself later. In addition to being very easy, able and willing to discuss both the work being done and suspension and bikes in general, Mark is also clearly highly intelligent and is quick and accurate in working out what needs to be done. I’m delighted with the end result and the ride home on my favourite local test route proved to be a revelation. An amazing result and money very well spent. I thoroughly recommend getting SSR Suspension to set up your bike - if Mark can make such a difference to an old bike with relatively basic suspension and few adjustments, he must be able to work miracles on more modern bikes with more adjustments and refinement possible.

SSR suspension are a fantastic company to deal with, Mark is very good at what he does, from the first phone call which Mark took his time to go through all the options without any hard sell at all. I have had a Nitron rear shock fitted to my Yamaha MT 09 Tracer and it has made a world of difference to the handling of the bike real night and day difference. Mark explains every stage of the modification in plain English, and I learnt more about Motorbike suspension in two hours than I ever had before. I can not recommend this company enough five star and brilliant customer service.

Popped over from Lincoln last weekend to see Mark and go on a 'ride along' suspension setup. Upon arrival we were greeted with a brew :) winner! It was straight down to business and setting the preload of the bikes making sure correct sag measurements could be obtained. With this done, it was out onto the roads. The route set has just about all the different road surfaces you will come across. Marks knowledge is vast and what's more is he is able to get that information across to us mere mortals ver well. Throughout the ride, he concentrates on one aspect of the suspension at a time and deliberately sets the bikes up so you feel both extremes of the damping circuits (how do you know what the right settings are, if you don't know what the wrong settings are right?) By the end of the ride a set up is dialled in and depending on the feedback given to Mark he adjust the setup to firm things up or soften them. In my case it came down to 1/4 turn on the shock to soften it up and a little softer on the front. From start to finish it was brilliant. The difference is night and day. Total transformation of how the bike feels. I would have happily paid more for the level of service Mark gives. I will definitely recommend him to anyone who is willing to listen :) Thanks for a good time and a great setup Joe

In the past I have used a certain suspension specialist in Keynsham Bristol only because it was the nearest to me by a lot. However, everytime I came back from them I was never happy with the handling of my bike. This time my friend recommended SSR. Although this added 100 miles to my trip I am so glad I went to see Mark. I took 2 bikes with me for a full set-up. Cbr600rr and an old cbr600f4i. I have tested the older bike and OMG it handles like a dream and on that basis I trust my Cbr600rr too will ride perfect . It's all in the way Mark meticulously works on the bike and asks lots of questions to finally come to what he is happy with in terms of setup. Measuring sag , on and off the bike, everything you would expect from any suspension expert such as Dave Moss (Google him) incidentally Mark from SSR is one of his old students. I recently Took my 2015 Triumph Tiger Sport 1050 to SSR Suspension, I was struggling to get the bike setup properly, the bike felt nervous and I lacked confidence in its ability to handle when pushing on in the bends. Mark at SSR spent some considerable time explaining the best setup route to take, suggesting a Nitron NR-2 rear shock absorber sprung to my weight ,along with a Race-Tech re-valved and re-sprung Stock Showa Forks. Mark gave me an honest opinion on component choice, in fact I had to talk him into me spending additional cash on the Hydraulic Pre-load Adjuster for the Nitron Rear Shock, so I am confidence Mark is one of the few people who dont just want me to spend all of my hard earned cash on non essential items. The difference in the handling of the bike is sublime, The bike feels balanced and planted. I was expecting the ride to be slightly more harsh, but this is Not the case. The feedback from both front and rear suspension is that of Plush and compliance. Mark spent some considerable time stripping and cleaning the Front Forks, and carefully installing my new Nitron Unit. For the Time spent I felt his charges for labour were more than reasonable.

Took my ‘99 Honda vfr forks for a much needed service and new springs today. I can’t rate marks service highly enough. Mark has a very conscientious approach toward his work and will only settle on doing his very best, illustrated today by the job taking longer than anticipated but Mark nonetheless took about solving the issue with a patient determination to finish the job to the highest standards. There are no corners cut here so if you love your bike and want true value for your hard earned cash, don’t look for someone to do it cheaper, take your bike to Mark and watch him work, you won’t regret it.

My SV650 was very unstable, over extending on acceleration and diving on roll off, also jittery on uneven road surfaces. Mark recommended new springs and a new emulator kit, along with an oil change on the forks and WOW. The difference was like night and day. Parcel Force collected 2 sets of Suspension last Monday and I had them back refreshed on Friday late afternoon. The Race bike has been re-valved Front and Rear and the Enduro bike has been re-sprung for my 70kg frame, I'll have the WP 4CS Forks re-valved by SSR Suspension next time round. Thanks to the guys at SSR, very fast turnaround at a time when most places have shut their doors. I look forward to working with you on Track. DB.

Arranged to go and see Mark so that he could set up my suspension on my Triumph Street Triple R. Was greeted with a coffee which was a bonus! Mark got to work on my bike and whilst doing his magic Mark explained everything to me in Layman’s terms and why he was doing it. Mark certainly knows what he’s doing! After Mark had worked his magic. Back on the bike I was and man what a difference! The bike handles like never before. Top bloke who does a top!

Had work done by mark at ssr suspension. He serviced my rear shock and re valved it and provided me new springs for the forks. Bike feels very very planted, mark also come down to the track and set the bike up. It wasnt the best weather for it been cold, damp and greasy but the changes worked well and when i next got out on track it was dry and warm mark was only a text away to help advise a couple of changes i wanted to make. Deffinetly gets my business next year.

Huge thanks to Mark Standley from SSR Suspension. He had his measuring tape out, twiddled some black magic knobs, told me very gently that I'm too fat for my shock springs and straight after I cut my lap time by 8 seconds!! My experience began with a basic setup along with five other customers running standard units.at the time Mark explained there was an issue an to remain in touch an he would look into the matter further which he did and working within my means we sourced the correct spring for my ohlins shock which was then sent to ssr for a full service an re gas an the correct shims etc.throughout Mark has been outstanding the bike now handles 100% better an i will be using ssr in the future to work on my forks. coms have been brilliant in the sense that mark wants you to understand whats involved an how to get the best out of the kit.ive since recommened ssr suspension to all my friends and will continue to do so great service
