Reviews of Loaf

Great bread, would recommend buying freshly baked sourdough, rye and baguettes from here. Still alot more of the menu I need to try.
A. C.
Always worth the journey. Great freshly baked bread. The cardamom pistachio bun was incredible!
M. T.
Perhaps the best multigrain bread I have ever had. Absolutely awesome taste and texture both fresh and toasted the next day.
It's a 20+ mile drive for me, but it's well worth going. Highly recommended!

Beautiful beautiful buns!!!
Soderberg in Edinburgh do these to die for cardamon buns that I couldn't find anywhere local.... Now Loafs cardamon pistachio and orange buns are even better..! Delicious beautiful looking baked goods. Love it!!!

We often drop in here to pick up bread for lunch and for breakfast on Saturday mornings. They do the best bread and croissants and great lunches. Their veggie sausage rolls are particularly fine.
T. D.
The best sourdough and focaccia I've ever had!
A. S.
Fabulous bread and cakes all made on the premises. Lovely staff.
M. W.
We absolutely LOVE loaf. The bread and pastries are fantastic (we have been customers for years) but their social engagement and charity contributions are an added draw for us. All round genuinely good guys and girls!!!
S. M.
Fabulous sourdough bread. Simple the freshest and the tastiest sourdough bread I’ve had. Well worth the journey!
The vegan pastry was delicious too.
Friendly service. Great little place selling genuine wonderful food.
Next time cinnamon rolls!
Service: 10/10
Food: 10/10

Amazing bread and their croissants are the best ever. You need to go early otherwise they will be sold out. Friendly staff and a local community shop that all Brummie should support.

Very warm, cozy place with tasty food. And this bowl with soup is no small, but a piece of bread is huge!
M. B.
Really really good bread (and pizzas on Wednesdays), and the fact that there's a queue at opening time should be an indicator that it's a great place. On only a few occasions my veggie roll or cinnamon roll pastry has been slightly burnt, however, but otherwise I'm always happy with whatever I take home :)

I have never been disappointed here: great bakery products and lunches, great staff and great service, and very reasonable prices for the high quality products. What a Stirchley gem! Oh, and a great response to the pandemic too in every way.

Always feels like a special treat getting fresh bread early in the morning from here.

This bakery, does absolutely wonderful bread. Can highly recommend. My friend and I had some excellent cinnamon rolls. They were finished before we arrived home. Good prices and great customer service.
L. B.
Love this shop. Great for my daughter who can't eat process food. My mother loves the soup and sausage roll. For me the veggie rolls are the best. My other half loves the Brummie mustard. And then to top it all they sell gorgeous cakes
W. R.
The best bread you will find almost anywhere! 😀 High quality artisan bread at very reasonable prices. They also do lunch things during the week. I also attended their basic bread baking course due to inconsistencies in my previous results. I was taught by Martha what mistakes I had been making, and since then I have been making consistently excellent bread. Well worth the money.
S. K.
Mince pies are amazing - without a doubt the best I've ever had. Definitely a good idea to pre-order online and collect. Make sure you don't miss out!
J. J.
Loaf is an amazing independent bakery and cookery school, I have bought many a loaf, I particularly like the Stirchley loaf but their sourdough's are superb. When ...we have some normality back do try out 1 of the classes from jam making to thalli and thai...incredible teachers and a really addictive place, you really do want to return again and again....
H. F.
We love this place! Local bakery and true to its roots. They consistently make the best sourdough 🥖 we’ve ever had. Everything is fresh and sold out everyday. Yet to try the croissant 🥐 because it’s always sold out.
R. W.
Just been on the back to basics bread making course excellent shall be signing up for the other two courses soon.

Inspiring course. Learned a load of new stuff. We made a few mistakes, but it didn't matter, we came home with bags of delicious sweet breads. Our oversized humongous cinnamon buns taste so, so good.

Lovely Cinnamon buns, friendly staff. Very popular, if you snooze you'll loose.

MUST VISIT! The bread, cakes and savoury items are absolutely delicious! Can be pre-ordered on their website and then collected when convenient. Staff are friendly and polite with covid guidelines adhered to.

Attended a baking class conducted by Loaf and it was a good experience. My wife and I got to bake lots of different stuffs and at the end got to try some of their delicious breads. Highly recommend to try this bakery.

I love this bakery, it's good honest food and the price reflects the quality. I hate beef, I hate gherkins and I hate mustard, but for some reason I absolutely love there salt beef with mustard and gherkins served on a brioche bun!
Amazing bakery, my only negative is they are not open early enough during the week- that's probably a good thing as I would very quickly look like a large loaf of bread!
m. j.
If there were such a thing Loaf would be the bakery all of the other bakeries want to be. Alas, it is as rare as true love that it is open.
L. B.
Bought bread for the first time last week, it was delicious, went back today for more!! To my embarrassment, and Loaf's credit, I "picked" at the focaccia on the way home, couldn't resist!!
The shop is a few minutes from Bournville train station and totally worth the trip! We'll be regulars, the only place to get decent bread in Birmingham!
J. J.
Incredible bread and cakes. Also sell locally produced items. Love the concept and the bread is incredible. Well worth the journey every time
M. D.
What an awesome day! Rob is a fountain of knowledge when it comes down to bread and pastries. Looking for something different as a gift? I would definitely recommend you check out the website and if you get the chance visit the shop, best be early though as they sell out so quickly. Brilliant day and met some lovely people. Thank you loaf!!!
A. J.
Love going here for pain au chocolat on a Saturday morning. Bread is all amazing (loads of flavours) and the sausage rolls are next level. Can't give this place enough hype. Love it.
A. J.
Visited for baking school. Really enjoyed it and have since made at home some of the breads I learnt to bake. Fantastic tomato and bean stew for lunch, but don't ask Martha for the recipe - she'll just say "NO"! That was the only disappointing part. It's not like I'm a rival.
R. Y.
Fantastic sourdough course and great tasty treats. I made all this in one day!
J. D.
My sister and I had a fantastic evening and day on the sourdough course. Although we are quite experienced bread makers we learnt a lot about sourdough and made some AMAZING breads. Tom is a brilliant teacher and so knowledgable.
j. b.
Fantastic local bakery, with great bread and friendly staff. I normally drop by on Saturday morning to grab breakfast and always end up trying dome of their wonderful rotating selection of pastries.
J. G.
Attended the cookery school day. Big thank you to Rob who was an excellent teacher.

Without doubt the best bread in Birmingham and for a long way in every direction. Shame its opening hours are so restricted - can rarely get there when it's open and it sell out fast.

A great community bakery. Their almond croissants are delicious. I'd also recommend trying one of their sour dough breads.

Einer der wenigen Läden mit richtigem Brot! Ein bisschen teurer, aber das ist es wert.
