Reviews of Bake Away Bristol

We went here based on an online website for the best bakeries in Bristol. We really really thought the location, interior and staff were lovely and welcoming but the patisseries just weren’t for us. We got a piping hot almond croissant and an olive bread , because we do like a little olive or two. 🫒 The almond croissant was okay, nice to try the small olive bread as something different on a Sunday morning.

I’m lucky enough to have this amazing bakery on my doorstop. The bread, pastries and service are all 10/10 - the sourdough is very popular in my house and lasts about 10 seconds before it’s all gone.
It’s great to have a bakery in Bristol which isn’t the same as the typical others selling just baguettes.
See you tomorrow for my morning croissant!

I live on Redland Road and the discovery of this bakery has been one of the highlights of my year so far, gorgeous bread and I highly recommend the walnut dip!
Just recently discovered they are also dog friendly, what more could you want.
Wonderful, friendly cafe that you must visit.

Gorgeous bakery. I had a spinach tart and Turkish cheese bun and it was delicious! Will definitely come back again to try other things. Highly recommend

Lovely treats! The only downside is the space capacity. No offence to those who enjoy working in cafs but considering that you have only 3-4 tables and one of them was taken by someone with their laptop out on a Saturday morning? You should probably reconsider being an 'internet cafe' with such limited seating.

All their breads and pastries are delicious. The warm raspberry jam croissants are to die for.

You guys have the best Almond croissant I have ever had and you can now add to that the vegan raspberry croissant too, absolutely delicious 😋 Oh and the pain au chocolat is amazing too, not to mention the super sourdough bread. A real local gem to be treasured,, if you haven’t tried these guys out you should ASAP, fab service too, thanks guys keep going strong 💪 p.s. our dog loves coming too he can smell the goodies from the end of Chandos!!

Am I out of touch or is £2.30 a bit steep for a pain au chocolat? I bought 2 at 3.30 in the afternoon and was taken aback by the £4.60 that appeared on the screen. They were tasty but the children said there wasn’t enough chocolate. I wanted to buy local but am discouraged by the price.

Pastries are amazing. You don’t find Turkish olive buns in many places so it’s a real treat!
Unfortunately the loafs i have had are not as good and not really up to standard for the price. Hard crust with a very very soft inside, making it difficult to slice. I hope they can improve this.

I live on Chandos Road and visit Bake Away at least once a week to pick up my favourites (sourdough baguettes and cheese buns). The coffee is also recommended. Very friendly owners, always good to give them a wave when I'm passing by!

Fresh, new bakery (opened only 3 months ago) and it's already one of the top bakery in Bristol in my opinion! Great typical coffee shop pastries like croissant but personally the real heart-stealer is Turkish pastries and sweets.
I visited only once, but I will defo check more often!

Spacious and airy leading to quite a comfortable experience in these times. Great selection of breads, recommend the olive bun! No chocolate sprinkles offered on the cappuccino, just the way I like it. Punchy coffee, will return 👍

I live opposite Bakeaway and i'm a regular visitor, the quality and consistency of the baked goods is amazing. Not everything on offer is your average selection of baked good but very much in the best way. The Spinach and white Turkish cheese tarts and olive filled Turkish buns are a must try along with the usual bakery suspects of fresh bread, croissants and pain au chocolates.

Absolute gem! brilliant bread and pastries. The best are their turkish bagels, black olive buns and cheese buns, as well as their sourdough baguettes. if you live locally get your bread there it is a real treat!

Almond Croissant was basic, like the kind you'd get at Sainos but triple the price
M. H.
Yes! Best sourdough bread, pastries and snacks in Bristol!!! freshly baked throughout the morning, often walked in and are serving up straight from the oven. Couldn't be more friendly and welcoming, highly recommended. Keep up the good work!

Bake Away is a great bakery. The sourdough loaves are the real deal and their selection of other breads and pastries are really exciting.
The little olive buns are a personal favourite but the Acma are also brilliant (if, like I didn't, you don't know what an Acma is - it's a Turkish style soft bagel and they are delicious!). They also have the pastries you would expect to see but I'm yet to try, as I'm always taken by other exciting items.
I imagine it's been a tough time to open, but I believe bakeaway could turn into a real gem for the area, and wish it all the best!

First time here today.
Loved the pastries I bought, the custard tart was fresh out the oven and amazing.
Socially distanced and friendly staff. My new favourite bakery.

Great new bakery, just had a couple of pastel di nata (hope I spelt that right). Portuguese custard tarts which were delicious. I’m going back next week to try their Sourdough bread which looks very tempting.
