Reviews of Hart's Bakery
A. D.
Absolutely the best of the best bakeries in Bristol. Everything’s delicious, the croissants, brownies, breads, literally e v e r y t h i n g. They have certain days where they would make certain types of pastry so you might need to pay attention to their social media to find out what day it would be available. They also sell different lunch menu everyday from noon till about 3 pm.

Great food, good coffee, polite staff. Prices are on the higher end but probably what you would expect to be honest. It's pretty busy all the time but the staff hammer through orders as best they can.
B. B.
Hard to find:D when coming out of the main train station, look towards your left and go one level down and you’ll see the cafe right across the “Temple” that is connected via some sort of bridge:)
Best coffee I’ve had for a very long time! I also had the carrot-walnut cake and it was incredible!
Super nice staff!! I got charged too less for my latte by accident (and I’m pretty sure it was my fault) and offered to pay the remaining amount after I noticed, but the staff politely declined. They were super nice. Great vibe :)

This is a gem. Hidden down a laneway near Temple Meads station, the baked goods are pure fire! The sweets are lovely, but the pasties are incredible - fresh modern flavour combinations as well. Great service and really good vibes in this place!
H. L.
If you could package heaven into your morning coffee and breakfast muffin I'd go to Harts Bakery!! I couldn't leave without taking a couple of cheeky sausage rolls for the road.
Don't waste your money at those chain coffee shops in the train station people, make the effort to walk down some stairs and get that treat you really deserve!!

The best bakery I ever ate at!
Was visiting a festival for 4 days and this became my morning routine. Every morning I tried something different and was blown away by it immediately - the taste and texture was really out of this world.
Now I'm afraid to visit the local bakeries in my living area again…
J. C.
Lush coffee, lovely tasty sourdough - not really hard so much easier to slice than some I've had before. Always interesting art on the walls and a lovely space. Highly recommended.
c. h.
Delicious. Possibly the best bread in Bristol, and they're damned good at flaky fluffy pastry too. You pay for it though. Sausage roll £3.50, small white sourdough £3.65, daily ft meals are often small ish but £6-7.50.
U. M.
Great location and nice to be slightly separate to the train when you’re on the start or end of your journey. Note , not too much seating and a little cold, not a workspace environment.
Good selection of cakes and pastries at a standard independent price-we’re yet to try a toastie as they always seem to sell out…
We observed the coffee extraction and it looked smooth. Provided a strong cup after a hard days work. Let’s all just get an Americano for no plant milk charge, ey
Only thing we would say is don’t be caught out into thinking it’s open on a Sunday - we keep doing this ! Nor Monday.
C. K.
Great bakery. Amazing pain su chocolat and croissant. They worth every rumor for one of the top bakeries in uk
S. S.
Absolutely love this place and we go there once a week. They have a large assortment of cakes, croissants, savoury pasties and sausage rolls. They have good vegetarian options, as well as some vegan and some gluten free items too. They do good coffee and drinks, and you can pre-order bread and other items for pick-up. Also the people who work there are lovely and super friendly.
L. C.
The food, aesthetic and atmosphere were fab! I had a sausage roll which was heavenly (kept me full all afternoon, bearing in mind we visited at around 11:00!) and my husband had a toastie which was also apparently outstanding! Liked the fact that they have artwork on the walls that changes on the regular to keep it fresh but also support local artists. All the cakes and pastries looked delicious and the drinks were good too.
I also liked the fact that even though they had only a little toilet (space constraints!) they did have one, and they clearly cared enough about their environmental impact to use ethical or environmentally friendly toilet paper, hand wash and hand towels. You can tell a lot about the place by the small details and that spoke volumes for us!
The only thing that was a bit of a shame was that there wasn't heaps of seating so it was a bit of a struggle to find somewhere to sit but I suppose that is a limitation of being in the railway arches!
Would really recommend if you have some spare time while you're waiting for a train or just out and about in Bristol.
R. C.
Superlative bakery. Sausage roll and lemon cake were excellent. Coffee was a bit of a let down - burnt. But don't think that should reduce the rating. The location next to the station is so convenient. Some big seating tables indoor which is great.
B. L.
If you are getting a train during the day and need a coffee and sweet/savoury snack beforehand, this is Bristol Temple Meads best kept secret and worth arriving early for so you can sit down and take a minute before going into the bustle of the station.
Good range and quality of things to eat and bread to take home. The bakery also uses Extract Coffee which I think is amongst the best roasters in Bristol.
Worth planning into your journey times

Croissant were made fresh, love their chocolate biscuit too!
D. T.
Awesome!!! Best sausage roll I've ever tried by far and the cakes are divine.
This place is a real gem and I wish I'd known it was hidden away around the side of the train station sooner.
Looking forward to visiting again.
K. D.
This is one of the most serious players on the bakeries market of Bristol.
The bakery offers great quality pastries, cakes and lunch meals. Laminated dough is of a superb quality, very flaky delicious. Almond croissant is impressive, it is well-balanced and not double baked as in most of the places. Occasionally there are some specials like hazelnut croissants. Coffee is good, service is good as well. The bakery is currently open for take away only.
d. r.
DELICIOUSNESS PERSONIFIED. Went in cause I had heard a lot of about it and couldn’t not try before I left. Had snickerdoodle cookie that was so deliciously chewy and balanced really well in terms of sweetness. Fantastic 10/10
T. B.
I could tell this would be good as they were queued out the door, luckily got a seat. Great coffee and bakes.. the pork and chorizo sausage roll was fantastic. Also took away mushroom and pearl barley sausage roll, beef shin mushrooms and blue chhese sauce nap, cheesy flan, berry cake, sticky toffee cake.....and ALL were delicious..I'll be back!

OMFG
I’ve been following Hart’s Bakery on Instagram and have finally had a chance to visit. Firstly, the people at the bakery are super nice and lovely. I wanted to get one of their Baker’s Choice pastries but only wanted the one - their online preorder minimum is £10 and they responded to me on the day to let me know I can get one when the bakery opens but these sell out quickly.
I was the second one there before it had even opened and there were four people waiting to go in when I left.
I should’ve trust my instincts. I should’ve been greedy. Because I wish I had bought more.
I got the white chocolate, pistachio and mango pastry. The pastry is perfect, so many layers - the flavours complemented each other well, not overpowering, not overly sweet and the cream is so light.
I. F.
Lovely little place to pick up bread and cakes with all other bakery goods.
Coffee is also very nice.
J. B.
I can't think of a single thing I've had from here that hasn't been amazing. Be prepared when you head down because it seems to be rammed from the moment it opens right through till close but don't be put off, the staff are all amazing and the food is even better!
The selection changes day to day, great coffee and the bread is fantastic. Other than listing everything I've ever bought from there and saying how great it is there's not much more to say 😁
L. M.
They are honestly one of the big guns in bakery locally. The pastries and bread are excellent with nice crisp on the outside and well laminated and fluffy layers on the inside.
I was quite disappointed by their chai latte though - safe to say it’s the most bland and unpalatable chai latte I’ve had.
M. P.
This place is amazing, we were just visiting for the weekend but I wish we lived closer to go here all the time! We will be back again when next in Bristol. Best pasty I've ever had and the cold brew was delicious!
M. K.
Unintentionally discovered this place when a colleague at work suggested going there. The atmosphere was really warm and positive. I had a carrot cake and a black currant with sour cream cake. Both of them were perfectly baked. If you are passing from Temple means station make sure to pop down for a visit, highly recommend!
R. R.
Here’s some advice I wished someone posted here: most of their award winning pastries sell out on opening. If you’re traveling in, make sure to call and reserve some, especially if you’re dying for their custard tarts. Their other pastries and baked goods are unmistakably delicious and in a league of their own. Don’t miss out on this local secret.
K. F.
Got burned once trying to show up on a Monday when biz is shut. Was never deterred though because quality of baked goods is JUST THAT GOOD. Sausage roll w/ or w/o meat, the sweet stuff, all of it is great. Try to show up before the lunch rush and you'll get scenes like these. If not, it's prob better to take it to go. Perfect for the train, although a bit out and down from the station FYI. Kinda get the feeling from locals that they would rather not have the place be known but I suppose that is the price of epic baking. My heart will go on for Hart's!
A. T.
Great bread, great cakes, and great coffee, what more could you ask for! Love this place
S.
Top!!! Best Place for breakfast. Worth every penny!!!
L. B.
Read about this place in a book and came to have a look, best way to start a day out in Bristol starting from Temple meads. Really good coffee interesting pastries and tarts. Bit pricy but has a nice feel. Very likely to come back here
A. C.
Beautiful cakes, pastries, bread, biscuits cookies and other choices. Friendly lovely staff and great coffee.
E. H.
The selection of breads, cakes and pastries was frankly mindboggling. They had the classic croissants and cinnamon buns but plenty of more exotic flavours to try too. They also took time to make the coffee properly which I appreciated. I have never seen a bakery with so many staff and bakers buzzing around. Really impressed.
P.s. check out their Instagram.

Excellent bakery, the toasties and cinnamon buns are absolutely amazing - need to get there early for the cinnamon buns though!
S. H.
Fabulous selection of Homemade savouries and sweet treats!!
t. t.
Handy to grab a great toastie or pasty before a train. Excellent food, really friendly staff.
Some of the best sourdough loaves in the city. Legendary Cinnamon Buns. The Saturday Bread is so sticky you need a coffee to wash it off your teeth.
C. W.
Vegan 'sausage roll' a big hit! Friendly, super busy, well oiled staff machine! ;-)
Thanks!
H. W.
Phenomenal bakery, worth missing a train connection (experienced) to just get a cake or pasty. Great selection of breads, cakes, pasties and the rest all made fresh on site and great coffee too.
Put more seating inside now. Very friendly and efficient staff. Wheelchair accessible.
S. M.
Had an amazing breakfast, and a great start to bristol visit here. Great location as one can grab a bite after a long train journey. The sausage roll was a star, perfect pastry with a good savoury balance. And had to try hot cross bun! Coffee was a great wake up call.
K. P.
One of the best, if not the best, bakeries in Bristol. Highly recommend.
J. A.
Love Harts bakery, the Saturday bread, custard tarts and vegan sausage rolls are outstanding.
R. M.
No where else in bristol can you find such great coffee AND fresh baked sourdough bread in the same place. The pastries are to die for too but you've got to get there before they dissappear! I love being able to see the bakers work their magic in the back, they give hart's that authentic genuine atmosphere you don't get anywhere else. Love it.
W. M.
Lots of interesting savoury and sweet treats, including the best carrot cake I've ever had!
N. A.
This Bakery is accessible for everyone especially for people who are traveling on the train as it's only a 5 minute walk, which is ideal for any passengers who are craving a snack or lunch and also deserts. The food was delicious and filling, the staff was very friendly which created a very warming environment.
M.
Over priced, over subscribed, and burnt pain au raisin.
Very pretentious menu, and no bacon baps!
What's worse, is my coffee was cold. Now I know a flat white is cooler than a latte, but this was cold. I walked from the bakery to the main road, and went to drink it, and was very disappointed.
Won't be going again.... Oh, you need more than 8 seats outside (rough count!).
J. T.
Great food. Service could be a bit better but food is amazing so I can't mark it down.
S. W.
Love this bakery. Wonderful sour breads, yummy cakes and the vegan and meat sausage rolls are to die for.
The coffee is worth buying as well.
s. g.
Just ate their cheese and potato pasty. Wondered if a pasty could be worth £4.60. The answer is a wholehearted yes. Phenomenal!
A. M.
This bakery is well worth a visit hidden away behind Temple Meads railway station it is very busy the best bread money can buy with best products money can buy lovely cup of coffee if you want to sit in or outside very friendly and helpful staff I would recommend this place to anybody
T. P.
Delicious food but limited seating and incredibly crowded on a Saturday morning.
D. S.
Great tasty bread, couldn't help myself and not eat half of it in less than 20 min! 😁😋 lovely blackcurrant cakes as well. Coffee taste very good too! Overall well recommend place 😃
O. F.
Wonderful place. Very delicious bread, tart. A little bit of hiding under the bridge.
T. P.
Best bakery in Bristol by far. You cannot get anything that isn’t great from here. Please open one in Clifton village!
B. E.
Brilliant bakery. Busy and love the fact you can see right into the kitchen and ovens. Nothing to hide. They just do it really well. Also... Coffee is great.
E. G.
Had the vegan apple turnover - so incredibly tasty and 'buttery'. Yum. Quite a few vegan options too. Handy for the train station!
J. D.
Really nice little bakery that’s hidden away beside Temple Meads train station. It’s incredibly popular and for good reason! Always very busy, it’s worth getting there early to avoid disappointment - not so great for sitting in (as it’s always so busy), but we always make sure to go if we’re going on a train journey, especially if it’s an early one. Their sausage roll pastry is so delicate and flaky, you’d expect to find it on a kouign amann or other sweet treat. Coffee is Extract, which is good, but not the best - however, you’re going for the baked goods more than the coffee.
C. S.
Brilliant service, coffee and food! Served by one of the smileyest ladies Imi this morning at 7.30. Well done Harts a fabulous organisation. PS cinnamon rolls are to die for!
D. J.
Places such as this are spontaneously created when certain levels of hip are reached - this place is 8/10 on the Bristol hip scale. The bread is superb. The cakes were pretty good, though the lack of apple turnovers indicate they have not quite achieved total baking mastery. Their hot chocolate was not very chocolatey. OMG they made apple turnovers! Perfection. I'm so hippy.
S. R.
Amazing bakery with great coffee and very tasty bakery items. I popped in before getting a train to London. I'd def go again. Very friendly service too.
M. S.
Bread 10/10 - Coffee 10/10 - Food 10/10
Amazing place, great vibe, great service and teh best food and coffee
M. Z.
The best pork shoulder bun I have every had! Amazing pork sausages too! I’m hooked!
m.
carrot cake ok but I don't recomand peanut butter doughnut ...
J. Ż.
Can't believe it's been already nine years, congratulations! Bristol baking legends from down the Meads. It's your go-to patisserie full of bread, croissants, brownies and savoury too. Personal favourite: the croissant. Best in town. Even the French envy them.
D. R.
Always a treat to get some baked goods here. Superb bread, delicious ham and cheese fluffy croissants, Sausage rolls (and veg options), Great coffee, sweet pastries, and cakes. All made fresh in situ. Defy you to not find something delicious. You will buy more than you intended!
E. A.
Don't be put off by the ginger in the sausage roll, I almost didn't order it because of that, but I'm glad I didn't, because this is hands down the best sausage roll I've ever had in my life. Charming place under the arches, pleasant staff and really good coffee too. Don't miss out.
D. B.
I mean, just look at the reviews. If you live central in Bristol, this is where you buy your bread from.
It’s the best I’ve ever tasted.
Super staff, everything else is amazingly tasty too.
D.
A gem by the railway station. The croissant was just perfect because I can feel the layers in my mouth when I bite into it.
H. A.
Without question, the best bakery in Bristol. Perhaps the southwest. I just wish I lived closer!
J. A.
Just the most amazing place for coffee, cakes, bread and lunch. It is has been outstanding every time so far!
c.
Truly excellent artisan bakery. First rate and highly recommended. We bought coffee and cakes (superb), and sat outside... the splendid aromas coming from the bakery drew me back inside to buy a pork, garlic and rosemary sausage roll! 😋
E. B.
Great little live bakery, folks in the back actively baking all the breads we are buying right now. Semi-industrial setting is cool. Croissant is good coffee is good, what else do you want?
J. A.
We ordered the bread for our wedding from Hart's bakery and basically had two of every type on their menu. We and our guests absolutely loved it all and they were so helpful in getting our order booked in ahead of the festivities. Thank you!
M. L.
There are certain places I dare not review on Google for fear that they are discovered by the masses. Hart’s is such a place. Friendly, approachable staff who bake the most delicious breads, pastries and sweets (in addition to lunch boxes) and make a cracking flat white. They’re very popular on the weekend, so pre-order through their website if you can. Their sourdough is one of the best I’ve tasted. I hope you can be trusted to keep this gem hidden!
T. K.
My fave place 😍
T. w.
An Aladdin's Cave of tasty treats. Just seeing the croissant mountains made my mouth start watering.
So far only sampled the Almond croissant, which was excellent, but I will be back for more.
Limited outside seating, and ok coffee.
G. V.
Amazing place to start your day and buy something to survive the day 🙂👍
t. t.
Best, BEST! carrot cake in town! I drive there from another side of the town just for this reason alone!
D. S.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing baked goods. I just visit for the tasty cinnamon buns!
A. G.
Wonderful as always. Great variety of baked goods. My pasty was sublime, and the carrot cake perfect. My colleagues all enjoyed their choices, happy munching.
J. C.
This place is great. I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago and again the other day when in Bristol. Freshly baked savouries and sweet things. You can see the baking going on. I liked the mushroom veggie sausage roll and the cheese and roast mushroom toasties are great. Tea nice too. Might have to share a table because it gets busy not surprisingly!
H. A.
This is the best bakery in Bristol. There, I said it! The croissants are layered buttery perfection. The egg custard tarts are divine and we look forward to collecting this beautiful treat on Saturday mornings. They take pride in what they do and that is why they have massive queues. Wish every bakery was this good!
C. K.
Great service and a brilliant place to see the bakery in action too. Had a delicious croissant and mince pie there with a wonderful coffee!
Perfect experience! ☺️👍
L. S.
Fantastic bakery at Temple Meads. The sour dough bread is really good, but their cheesecake, carrot cake and sausage rolls are probably the best I've tasted! Unfortunately they only do the cheesecake on a Friday. The quality of ingredients make this bakery one of the best in Bristol.
M. B.
We try to go to Hart’s whenever we catch a train as their sweet and savoury pastries are amazing, especially the sausage rolls. In fact we like the sausage rolls so much that my wife and I ordered almost 200 as the evening snack at our wedding and they went down a storm. Laura and her team are always really welcoming and accommodating so I’d highly recommend.
S. B.
Fantastic selection of cakes savouries and bread coffee is the best in Bristol. Lovely spot .
a. s.
Best Bristol bakery. Bread beats Herbert's (the champions of old). The patisserie is also probably the best I've had. And I've had lots of good stuff.
It's always worth a detour, or just planning your journey around a trip here!
Just make sure to get there early! It's no secret and they sell out fast.
G. R.
Great food, coffee and staff.
D. L.
Lovely little bakery hidden away under temple meads approach road. Very busy, but service is fast. Lovely pastries first thing in the morning, with cakes and savouries all day. Freshly baked bread available to buy as well. There are a few tables and chairs to sit and enjoy your purchases or takeaway in brown paper bags. Definitely worth a visit
B. M.
Bristol is becoming flush with first class bakeries and Harts is among the best. I love everything about this place, the bread and pastries are consistently very very good.
The staff are lovely, even when the queue is out the door and the pressure is on they manage to be friendly and attentive.
Coffee is also top notch but be prepared to wait at busy times as the place is popular at certain times of the day.
T. N.
How they manage it I do not know but truly exceptional baked goods! Really friendly and helpful staff and you can order you delicious pastries online in advance as the can sell out pretty quickly!
n. E.
Bit tight on seating space but otherwise great coffee and range of sweet stuff. More savoury would be even better.
M. J.
Let’s begin,
Ham Croissant, Pain Au Chocolat, Cinnamon Bun. Get the idea? Their an incredible bakery that offer a vast array of scrumptiously sweet and savoury treats! I recommend ordering a selection and then in your own time, go to a quiet place, eat them slowly and savour every last minute of the baked goods you purchased. Wow.
s. g.
The sausage rolls here are a spiritual experience. never tasted a roll so delicious, they clearly know what they're doing. Best cakes and cookies as well. I always try and pop down when I'm taking the train somewhere.
R. L.
One of the hidden gems of Bristol. All their food is absolutely lovely. Make sure you try their croissants. On Saturdays, get there early (ideally before 8). The place gets very crowded and all the best kinds of pastry are sold out by 9.
You can also stay for a coffee or have a takeaway.
M. E.
Wide selection of sweet pastries, but get there early as they can sell out quickly. Nice coffee too. Savoury breakfast treats are delicious. Cinnamon bun was a bit on the bland side.
I. H.
I live in France so I am acquainted with amazing bread and pastries; that is why I was extremely impressed by the quality, variety and taste of the produce in Hart's Bakery. We had pastries for breakfast but I couldn't resist a freshly cooked bacon and cheese muffin they had just taken out of the oven! We took a big bread and it was extremely good, also.
To make things better it is right beside the train station.
R. T.
Amazing food, lovely staff, good coffee, handy for the train station. What's not to like? Cinnamon buns highly recommended. Not the cheapest but the quality ensures it's still good value. So good it's super busy at peak times so go early to get all the best stuff!
P. C.
Best sausage roll I have ever eaten. And I am very, very well experienced in savoury pastries. It is also the most expensive sausage roll I've ever eaten, but I think worth it and I will definitely go back. Nice coffee too.
J. P.
Great flat white with lots of bakery options!
T. L. (. F.
Very good coffee and sausage roll
A. W.
Very nice Sourdough Wholemeal loaf.
Also tried almond Crossiants and cinamon buns both of which were good but not great!
M. W.
One of the best places for a coffee and cake! Vegan friendly! Wish I could give it 6 stars!
G. H.
My boyfriend and I are HUGE croissant fans/snobs - their pain au chocolat was basically France level and their coffee was great too. The staff were really attentive and the whole place is just super cute. Dairy free milks available and biodegradable cups/cutlery too. Discount for bringing your own takeaway cup! Loved it.
D. d. l. P.
What can I say? You have arrived at Bristol's best bakery cafe. No, the UK's best bakery cafe. Wait no, the world's.....
D. F.
Nice bakery, but I would recommend an early morning visit, otherwise the choice is limited
A. W.
This things this place produces are a dream, the best pastries in Bristol by far and the sourdough bread is so good it barely lasts a day in our house.
The main problem and the reason I have deducted one star is that because it’s so good it’s often exceptionally busy. This means it’s not always a pleasant experience going in to get bread or a coffee, and that’s just to take away. I’m sure if you go midweek it’s an absolute haven but Saturday mornings can be a nightmare.
A. F. G.
A strong claim to the most delicious baked goods in Bristol. Closes too early to enjoy after work but for a weekend brunch or scrumptious lunch midweek expect few options, but perfect execution. Grab a loaf to take home to drag the experience out a few more days (or hours, you have been warned, it is delicious). Also serves Batista grade coffee. Great atmosphere: think hipster but without the attitude.
N. K.
Top quality baked goods on offer. Unique location on the approach to Temple Meads Train station. Highly recommended
L. E.
Incredible food! Highly recommend
N. B.
Sausage rolls to die for (literally, they're not healthy, but in a good way), and coffee that is up there with the best in Bristol. Always a huge range of food on the go; the cinnabon buns are incredible and worth the trip alone. Ensure you grab a loaf of their bread as well; freeze it if you don't want to eat it all in one go, but make sure you try their Sesame seed sour dough - my kids absolutely love it, and toasted it tastes wonderful - the oils crisp the crust up really nicely.
P. B.
This hungry lorry driver approves of your bbq sausage rolls. Bloody lovely.
J. d. M.
Excellent baked goods. Ordering online is easy which is good because the cinnamon swirls sell out very very quickly. Gluten free bread is very good because it is packed with seeds.
Z. W.
Nice coffee but if you have a train to catch I wouldn’t risk it as it took about 10 minutes to make a couple of coffees. At least a warning of ‘there’s a bit of a wait’ before placing orders would have been worth while. Had I known I wouldn’t have bothered as I did in fact miss my train despite initially having plenty of time!
M. P.
Oh how I love this place. Great coffee, delicious pastries (the eggy sourdough bread wrapped in bacon is weird and wonderful and possibly the best portable breakfast on earth). Plus it's cool because you can see the baking happen right before your very eyes in the open plan space. Anyway. It's great. If you're at Temple Meads and need a coffee go here.
L. G.
Great food and coffee but your new layout doesn’t work! Everyone is clearly confused about where to order, you can’t see all the stuff on display before ordering, and no clear place to queue.
c. h.
The best sourdough bread and pastries in Bristol. They do an absolutely stella coffee too. One of favourite things to do is to pop in and pick up a pastry and coffee to hop on the train with...
A.
Amazing hidden gem. Everything's authentic and made on sight, each item with its own unique Harts twist. Prices are reasonable. It's popular and sometimes all seating is taken. There can be a wait too. They remove items from the menu when they are all gone, but first thing in the morning there is loads of selection. It's one that you learn all it's quirks when you visit often. Well worth checking out.
D. K.
I just preface this review with the fact that the low stars aren't for the food or drinks, I've had them many times and they're divine. More it was the fact that when arriving at half 10 on a saturday all sweet pastries had run out. Unfortunately it is not a place I go regularly to say whether it is the norm or not, but it was a bit disappointing to say the least. All I can say is try and get there as early as possible!
D. L.
One of my favourite spots in Bristol, this little bakery/cafe is simply brilliant. They're just brilliant. They serve different food for lunch every day, but it's always delicious! If you're going for lunch then go before 13:00 because they sell out of their limited batches of food pretty quickly.
It's near impossible for me to walk in without buying a flat white coffee and a cake, or at least a loaf of their sourdough bread!
A particular treat was going to a pop-up restaurant run in there by Mi Casa (who are also consistently good).
Did I mention that it's brilliant?
J. V.
Excellent artisan bakery, all food prepped fresh, often as we watch - cakes, rolls, tarts, all man er of nice things baked to recipes above and beyond the normal fare. Amazing Toasties too.
Sit down tables inside with a couple of outside seats weather permitting. Coffee is good too.
P. T.
The best bakery I have ever been to. Best sausage rolls, best coffee and the daily specials are also delicious! We go very regularly and I am always impressed and how well they cope especially when it is very busy. Best bakery in Bristol.
R. K.
Easily the best sausage roll I've ever had! If you only have one meal today, make that a sausage roll from Hart's. There's even a vegan option which is pretty decent too.
B. W.
Food is just superb. Prices a little on the high side but you get the quality you pay for. Worthy of 6 stars BUT there is a major flaw. They don't have enough of everything. The location is a little out of the way and I would say that half the times I make the effort to go there they haven't got what I want. I don't know of any other bakery that runs out of breakfast items by 0830. So sadly I don't go any more.
C. L.
Very friendly staff. Great to see the working bakery in action. And the plain croissants are, hands down, the best I've ever had. And that includes the real deal in France too. Highly recommend!
D. L.
Great location under the railway arches altho can be a bit hard to spot from the main station approach road. Great coffee. Amazing food - all cooked fresh. Lots of vegetarian and some vegan options. Savoury and sweet. A little bit pricey. Definitely worth a visit!
D. H.
Really delicious pastries (and other baked type things) and it's decked out pretty sexily too. I had the 'Saturday Bread' which presumably is available only on a Saturday which was delicious. My only criticism is that it seemed a bit hectic even though it wasn't that busy. We had finished our food before the coffee came. The baristas might need to up their game a touch!
R.
The 20 minute detour was well rewarded. Sausage roll a perfect blend of meats and seasoning - Define. Carrot cake and Egg Tart where also perfect. It’s the kind of place that if my train was travelling through Bristol I would be seriously tempted to get it off for an hour to walk 5 mins to Harts.
S. “. b. B.
Delicious high quality bakery. Good vegetarian and vegan options.
M. C.
An ideal spot for a pre train breakfast, cannot believe I have been walking over the top of this place all these years and not been in. This morning was my first visit and an excellent flat white and a pan aux raisin was the breakfast of choice.
Get their early for the other breakfast goodies, I’ll aim to get the earlier train next time!
C. H.
It's only my second time visiting the bakery but it's very popular with the locals. It's a hidden gem so close to Bristol Temple Meads Station selling all.manner of baked goods and coffees. The only downside is the limited seating is very busy in a weekend but it's well worth the wait: especially for a chunk of Saturday Bread (the edge bits are the best)!
D. S.
Some nice breads and good selection of delicious cakes, pastries and even toasties. Their drink sizes are one size and small. It doesn't say on the board but the smallest size for anything no mention of size but large drink prices. I guess because they can.
J. D.
Best sausage roll I’ve had in a looooong time. 👏👏
T. M.
My thoughts and eternal gratitude goes to the founding person who initially sold his/her soul to the devil for the sourdough recipe of Harts bakery. I drove 15 minutes across town to pick up a loaf, queuing with a lady who cycled from Bath with the same purpose. The bread is far better than anything I ever tasted.
V. C.
A little gem nested underneath Temple Meads station serving great, delicious pastries and other concoctions. You can watch the chefs baking away while waiting to be served. Not 5 stars because it has unfortunately become too popular in such a small space so alas this means long queues and near impossible seats. Let's just hope they will expand soon.
J. L.
Great place to have a coffee, pastry.
Will come back, even if it's to buy the freshly baked Artisan bread!!
Oh. Lovely touch, being able to see the bakery in action.
Staff looked as though they enjoyed being there. Says it all 😊
J. H.
INCREDIBLE little bakery near Temple Meads station. Highly recommended the coffee and the delicious bakery goods! The almond croissants are amazing as are the cookies and shortbread. They have some very nice vegan treats too.
J. E.
Hart's is a lunchtime staple for anyone working down by Temple Meads. Despite being somewhat hidden away, it's always busy and has a friendly, energetic atmosphere. Since the bakery is open plan, you can see everything being made while you're waiting to order. The bread is always delicious, and the daily lunch deal is invariably good as well. Staff are friendly and efficient!
J. D.
Probably should give it one star so other people don't find out about this amazing bakery and cafe. We have to call ahead whenever we go for their almond croissants which are just incredible as they sell out about 8am.
N. F.
Went to get some lunch there & the queue went out the door but one can why - delicious food! The chocolate chip cookies are a take-home must.
The service is very good- friendly and sufficient staff to move the queue along quickly.
S. A.
Great pastries, coffee, bread.. Well everything really! Best PAC in Bristol, and that's saying something.
M. J.
Simple but nice. Beautiful bread, croissants if you get there early enough, lunch special. Today was red lentil soup thick and tasty served with fresh bread. Perfect lunch. Good coffee too
b. l.
Always buzzing. Perfect coffee every time. Great music, changing artists work supported on the walls. Pastries are YUM. And the staff are always super! Top quality baristas.
E. S.
Most amazing hidden bakery in Bristol. Be fast to get what you want because they sell out quick!! Nothing compares to their almond croissants, omg they're so good!! 🥰
N. Y. P.
This place is the best! It really is incredible. The staff are lovely and friendly (and all look totally trendy). Each of the pastries are delicious, flaky, buttery amazingness, and it's a cosy space. Going there is always a treat.
D. W.
The only things better than their apricot croissants are their bacon-and-egg muffins: light and fluffy, warm, and ever-so slightly bacon-fatty. 'So good! ... and that's just breakfast. For lunch, you really should try their squash and ricotta pasties or, better still, their stunning pork and sage sausage rolls. The pastry is perfect.
Oh, and if you've never has HB bread, you're missing out!
A.
Stranded at Bristol TM due to train cancellations and we stumbled upon a true gem of a bakery/cafe. An open-plan hipster joint with all and sundry on display. Authentic - it is indeed and 'Artisan' it is too.The A word is thrown around with reckless abandon these days but this place is the epitomy of it. There's no point detailing the fine cakes, pastries and 'real' bread on offer because I can sum it up in one word - HEAVENLY! Ingredients are clearly of the highest order too. The butter which is imported from France tells you how good the patisserie is. They even make their own chrissy dec's recycling butter wrappers - phew! The sourdough concept is in fashion these days, well here, it's celebrated and executed perfectly. The healthy en vogue seed craze is here too so current it is with currants everywhere. Price will always be an issue for some but when treats like this are on offer, please regard it as an experience worthy of an extra few quid.....imagine a fine cognac and what it costs - a visit to this place is a lot cheaper and infinitely better. Oh, the coffee is fab too.
My thanks go to GWR Train Network for cancelling the 10.38am to Great Malvern.
A. R.
The best sausage rolls you’ve ever tasted! The only downside is its popularity which might mean a short queue and having to be friendly to get a seat. But it’s worth it!
P. C.
Delicious veggie mushroom amd barley sausage roll and vegan muffin. One of my top 3 favourite cafés in Bristol.
Lovely friendly staff too.
S.
Best sourdough toasties (get there before they sell out during lunch) and bread! Great selection of freshly baked cakes and pastries too. Not much seating and a lot of nearby people that pop in for lunch so there can be a bit of a wait
M. A.
Flakey pasties a real treat, a good independent bread and coffee shop
L. R.
Brilliant bakery with excellent, original and creative pastries and breads. Very good coffee too. Order at the till, coffee will be brought to you. There can be a bit of a queue buy it goes rather fast. Decent prices.
d. m.
Excellent bakery situated underneath the entrance to Temple Meads Station.Lovely little cafe for a pit stop before your train journey. Purchased a sour dough loaf which made the most wonderful bacon sandwich.
L. M.
Great food, always top notch sourdough toasties and sausage rolls. Also lovely selection of sweet pastries. Can get very very busy.
D. M.
I have had a sausage rolls today best I have ever had by far. I used to be in the Bakery trade delivering goods to bakers in Somerset and Gloucester. I have had sausage rolls from lots of Bakeries but none as good as yours.
B. T.
Love this place so much!
Excellent pastries, excellent bread, and they do local honey!
Recommend to everyone I know.
M. C.
Everyone was so friendly and happy! Their pastries, cakes and drinks were all amazing! Worth visiting Bristol just to eat here! Many thanks to Harts Bakery.
S. t. B.
Great place...but pretty much the only place. I got really confused with Bristol Station. Arguably a big city. But the station facilities weirdly lacking. Even my home town of little old Cambridge, there’s plenty of Bars & Coffee Shops. But in Bristol...just this Gem at the bottom of the Road. And it is a Gem. Great food. Great Coffee. Weird Toilet and Key situation. But don’t let that detract. Cos the Cakes more than make up for it.
L. W.
My favourite bakery. So pleased it's done so well since we went on its 2nd day of opening when there were a few loaves on a big table in a cavernous space. From then to noww iss testament to hard work. The sticky ginger cake, gorgeous buttery shortbread, and veggie mushroom rolls are among many favourites. 😁
T. M.
Very rewarding experience, the saturday bread is to die for.
The best bakery bar none
O. K.
The best cinnamon buns outside of Denmark! Always something special on offer and great coffee too. Get down early as things sell out pretty fast. A great place to start the day.
R. W.
Go there early and as often as you can ha! It's incredible.
A. U.
Never felt better eating so much gluten in my life!
Everyday new selection, great service and amazing food! Always busy, so be ready for crowds.
Once visited - always your favourite.
L. T.
I try to visit Harts Bakery every week on my way to work to get a supply of sourdough bread, which is proper stuff! Love their super seedy sourdough especially on a cold morning where I can cuddle the warm loaf on the way into the office !
J. M.
I used to love Hart's incredible Danish pastries and kimcheese toasties. Since going dairy and wheat free I've not been back much BUT just popped in there and had a fantastic oat milk flat white and a very rare choice of two raw cake bars. Thanks for catering for the intolerant.
N. S.
It's the best. Best at baking. Every single thing is yummy. From cakes, to breads, to coffee. They do the absolute best and unusual fillings of pasties. Lovely atmosphere. Welcoming staff. Can't praise it enough.
J.
Hands down 10/10 cinnamon buns and a 10/10 customer service. Friendly staff that are so welcoming and polite. I routinely go every week at least once and never get tired of it!
M. B.
Best bakery in Bristol! Too many great things to mention all of them - a few highlights: egg&bacon, custard tarts, cheese danish, lemon&poppy seed cake, different&yummy lunch everyday :)
J. H.
Love this place. Pastries and cakes are superb, and the coffee is as good as I've had in Bristol. A lovely location under the arches and staff are always warm and welcoming.
L. (.
Fantastic food, great for breakfast and lunch, sweet and savory. Fantastic selections every day and mix of meats and vegetatian/vegan options which are also very tasty (even for meat eaters like me!). Right next to temple meads, definitely recommend.
M. J.
We've been regular visitors since it opened, and still highly recommend it, but of late have noticed a definite slip in quality. Hart seems less present in the bakery, and standards are dropping. Bread still good, but pastries rushed, unpleasant veggie pasties/empanadas, soggy nata. It's too bad. Raging success is extremely difficult to meet and maintain.
R. S.
My only complaint is that the egg cremes are sold out far too soon on a Saturday morning. The range of pastries cakes and patisserie is second to none. There is a barista on duty at all times and you would be making a big mistake if you leave Bristol Temple Mead Station without popping in.
A. W.
Dreamy pastries, amazing coffee, super friendly staff... it's probably a good thing I don't live closer to Hart's because I'd be in there every day given half a chance
J.
It's decent but they sell out of sandwiches/toasties consistently before normal lunch hours. Not sure why more isn't made to save this happening. It's hard to know what you want to order because the produce is all after the point that you have to order. There isn't a menu for sandwiches anywhere so I have no idea what choices there are.
D. H.
Really nice selection of bread, cakes and pastries. Their lunch specials, especially on Thursday and Friday, is solid and the coffee is also up there with Bristol's best.
C. B.
Love this bakery. Everytime i visit, i love it. Usually busy in the morning but that should be expected as they are fantastic. Everything is made in house and coffees are fantasyically made. Thoroughly recommend to anyone coming out/going into temple meads station
M. S.
Brilliant little bakery right under the train station. Prices might seem slightly higher than your typical café, but the quality and variety make it very worth it. The cheese toasties especially are sizable and make for a filling meal.
A. R.
Harts has long been one of my favourite places in... well the whole world, really. The coffee is perfect, the pastries - sweet and savoury - are divine, and the staff are really lovely.
T. R.
Love, love, love this place! You have to try these pastries—be sure to try the pasty! Great location if you are headed to/from the train station, too.
J. C.
Great coffee. Gets very busy because it's popular. With good reason. Staff were super quick regardless. Definitely worth it if you have time to kill between trains.
C. H.
Our favourite Saturday morning wake-up; we'll stop in for a naughty breakfast of pastries and decent coffee (we're snobby Australian coffee drinkers) to start the weekend, or one of us will swing by to take a bunch back home, including a loaf of fresh bread. Me and my sweet tooth love the wunderbuns; my boyfriend prefers the bacon and egg muffins and the delish sausage rolls! Get in early or the faves (almond croissants and the bacon and egg muffins) will be sold out; usually before 9am! It also gets pretty packed, so be prepared to settle for take away.
D. W.
Found this after a google search for artisan bakery Bristol. What a find, ditch the idea of a hotel breakfast and come here instead. Do yourself a favour, save some time to do it justice and enough room for a cinnamon bun in addition to anything else you have. If you were planning to do one thing in Bristol, make it Hart's Bakery, brilliant
C. D.
Divine as always, a patisserie that others should aspire to. Shame the Lockdown has messed with demand levels requiring range and number of pastries on offer to be amended to maintain profitability.
M. A.
Organic artisan bakery with fantastic breads & cakes. Nove coffee too. Very popular with discerning commuters as the food places at Station have such low ratings!
P. J.
Nothing to dislike about this place. Food is fantastic - lovely bread, pastries and other baked goodies, excellent lunch items, and great coffee. Always busy but worth the wait.
F. B.
Yesterday we decided to check out the glowing reports regarding this establishment firstly we braved the traffic around the area which is horrendous my partner and myself are well over 80 and I had parked in the station approach and the next challenge was to find the place. So we walked to the pavement and looked down and found there was a metal staircase to take us to the lower level under the arches. As I said we are well over 80 and they stuck some negotiating however we manage this but on the final step my partner lost her balance and went down on her back hitting her head on the concrete very traumatic. You might say what has this got to do with Harts bakery but a young lady appeared from there offering help and came back a second and third time. The paramedics arrived and treated my partner who buy now had a lump at the back of my head the size of half a golf ball after treatment we've managed to get her back into my car and we stopped off at Harts bakery and I confirm it is absolutely true the sausage rolls are out of this world and the fruit crumble we had also in the same league I can't praise them enough they were absolutely marvelous and the top this we were given two coffees on the house and we will certainly go again but not down that staircase we will come in from the street level as there are parking places.
K. W.
This is without a doubt the best bakery I have ever been to. It's pretty much worth living in Bristol just to go there. Having moved half way across the world, the thing I miss most is Hart's!
C. M.
Mindblowingly good bread, pastries and cakes. Good coffee too. Shame it's only open until 3pm. I highly recommend a visit, although it's worth bearing in mind it's quite small with not a huge amount of seating so it's not one of those places you can go for a coffee and while away the time.
A. T.
Fantastic bread, pastries and other baked goodies, excellent lunch items, and great coffee. Always busy (says it all) but worth the wait.
R. T.
One of the best pasties I've ever had. Great little find. Will visit again.
L. J.
Hands down the best veggie 'sausage' roll I've EVER had
M. R.
Delicious coffee, cakes and flamiche!
H. B.
Their cheese toasties are actual heaven. The sourdough is one of the best things I've ever eaten and you can't spend time in Bristol without needing to devourer their cakes.
A. G.
Fantastic bakery with a great range of products and a lovely atmosphere. Bacon and egg muffin in sourdough has to be tried. Staff super friendly too. Only 2 mins from the station.
B.
Fabulous little bakery/cafe. Always a pleasure to visit
D. B.
Love Hart’s for their croissants and tiramisu cakes.
Best almond croissants in Central Bristol!
S. M.
Pastries and baked goods are excellent, and the coffee is almost as good. The best bakery/coffee shop anywhere near Temple Meads station by a long way
D. B.
Bustling bakery with great choice of freshly made pastry and bread products. You move quickly to the front of the long queue at lunchtime and the pasty and sausage rolls fillings (meaty and vegetarian) change daily.
S. P.
The place is always busy which speaks volumes. Lush cakes, savouries and sour dough bread. I always head here for coffee and toast when I'm in the area which is served with lovely homemade preserves.
E. G.
One of the best bakeries in bristol, their pasties are as good as you would find in Devon/Cornwall and I love their sausage rolls.
Definitely worth a visit whenever you are at Temple Meads
F. C.
Greatest bakery in Bristol, but also great coffee and attention to the environment (biodegradable disposable cups and reusable for the items consumed in the shop). These things make me smile :)
C. M.
The bread is good, some of the cakes are very good, but the queue is very long and the staff are very slow. Last time I visited there were 5 staff serving, 7 people in the queue and it took over 25 minutes to buy one load of bread.
A. M.
Excellent breads (esp sourdough), cakes, savoury bakes, soup, coffee... all sorts. A real vibe about the place. Great location under the Temple Meads arch. Well worth a visit...
D. L.
Dangerous place to be if you're hungry. ;<)
A. B.
Service is quick. Staff is friendly. Food is delicious!
M. H.
I am a coeliac and a regular at this wonderful little spot. The lovely folk at Harts make 2 different breads that I can tolerate. A lovely oat and seed based one and a new spelt and rice based one. They can also toast it with jam or marmalade and make toastie sandwiches with it. Obviously if you are a super reactive coeliac you may have to make a considered choice on the risk of cross contamination by wheat in the environment but I have been fine for 4 years! Thanks guys. I look forward to my regular breakfast visits. M.x
A. U.
Would thoroughly recommend the lamb, pea & potato pasty, full to the brim and very flavoursome.
Good taste in music too!
J. M.
Incredible place, real love and care goes into the menu and ingredients. Lunch specials are amazing, best food in Bristol.
H. G.
The best bread in Bristol, but priced as such.
G. A.
Superb sourdough bread. Wonderful cakes and pastries. Delicious savoury pasties and sausage rolls.
Eat in or take away.
Friendly and helpful staff - especially Laura
A. L.
Great cafe, that is hidden away in the approach section of Bristol Temple Meads, and is approachable by a set of steps - take care when going down these
You can eat in or takeaway and yes it is worth the longer wait for anything as the food is extremely tasty and you pay a bit more but this is value for money - allow a few extra minutes to buy the food as there is often a wait and it is not a fast food place and a bakery instead, especially if you have a train to catch
Much better than the chains that are elsewhere
Service is genuine and great
J. M.
Fantastic bakery. The only place to go around the train station for a coffee or snack. They have a wide array of cakes , pastries, pies and sausage rolls. Nothing healthy really but by god you wont care when you taste it.
A.
A very special cafe and bakery. I have visited many times, eating there and taken bread and cakes home. The quality never varies. One of the very best in Bristol.
S. P.
A-MAZ-ING. Best bakery in the world! You will not find a better sausage roll & brownie anywhere. You may have to take out a small pay day loan, but worth it!
T. M.
Lads weekend away. Need gift for son and wife. Google search done and (after dragging my hungover friends to a railway arch) we were at harts bakery. It was 10.30 on a Saturday and the que was to the door. I panicked to start with then saw the counter and bread rack, at that moment I concluded.........there will be another train. Well the que was dealt with swiftly and then I was presented with my second dilemma.........what do I order. Well I went for cheesecake brownies and "Saturday bread" well I don't think I know enough long words to describe, just head down (early) and purchase. Friendly knowledgable passionate staff well done guys not only am I in the good books but my taste buds have been treated to one of the most wonderful experiences.
A. W.
Busy but worth it. Really tasty food, nice variety including veggie dishes. Nice coffee. Convenient location under train station for commuters. Not the cheapest but worth it for the quality.
J. C.
Nothing to say that hasn't already been said before. Amazing bread, pastries, coffee, sausage rolls, lunch options.... Nice seating area also. Like one reviewer mentioned, best get there early before some stuff sells out
h. G.
Incredible blackcurrant cream cheese slice. Salivating at the thought of it. Live too far away to eat daily😥
T. E.
Very busy & rightly so. Excellent coffee and nibbles to tempt everyone. But off the beaten track thank goodness. Only those in the know can sample a little corner of perfection
R. B.
Brilliant. Eat in or takeaway from this superb whole food cafe. Busy at lunchtime, and no wonder as it's so good, and once you have eaten here you will never, ever, eat anywhere else at Templemeads, ever again.
L. M.
£2 Pain au choc. Makes my morning commute to London not only tolerable but something to actually look forward to.
Get there quick as they bake fresh and when it's gone it's gone.
A. M.
Two slices of giant, chewy sourdough toast with homemade preserves (rhubarb and grapefruit) and a flat white, all for under a fiver! Amazing dessert and pastry selection too.
P. W.
Once we actually found the store which is easier said than done, we only tried the brownies, but they were very good.
R. G.
Every time I return here it never disappoints - super popular and for good reason. Be prepared to qué if your cutting it fine for your train! Thank you Hart's!
R. K.
Top quality food and staff are friendly. All sadly spoilt by the noise with someone continually beating the life out of some doe with a rolling pin. Not good if you need a quiet chat !
G.
Amazing sausage rolls, best I´ve ever eaten. The shortbread and the sourdough are perfect too. Who do I need to kidnap for the recipes?
J. B.
Great pastries, savouries, and cakes, and very good coffee. Hart's is a wonderful all-rounder, both as a bakery and a café.
H. H.
Following Hart's on Instagram is a painful experience - because I want to eat everything they ever post.
Hidden away under the road up to Temple Meads, the bakery has been one of my favourite secrets to share with friends and colleagues. There's usually a pretty decent selection of cakes at breakfast and lunch (unless everyone else has gotten there first!) with varying savoury items each day (Breakfast: the eggy bread muffin shapes with bacon are amazing, lunch: a toss up between the hot meat sandwich specials or a pasty)
Prices aren't too bad - obviously it's more than the standard high street bakery, but it's about a hundred times more delicious.
If you're getting a train anywhere, arrive at Temple Meads 30 mins earlier than you would, and get your snacks from here instead of on the train - you won't regret it!
N. H.
Quite an amazing authentic foody experience. Seems to have almost cult status judging by the crowds queuing to get in on a Saturday morning! Interestingly-crafted recipes and genuinely friendly enthusiastic staff.
C. C.
They make the most amazing bacon muffins. I just wish I could get one every now and then. They're always sold out by 8am. Make more guys!
A. C.
The worst thing I ever did for my bank balance and stomach was find Hart's bakery; now I'm addicted. Recommendations would be Saturday Bread, Bacon & Egg muffins, sausage rolls and pain au chocolate.
M. S.
Quest for the best baked bites in Bristol ended here for good reason.
Cheerful staff and delicious food.
K. S.
Dangerously excellent.
Everybody already knows it's fantastic, you don't need me to say that - but the toasties are very reasonably priced given their size, and if anything the cake needs to get worse so I can pretend i don't want it.
D. P.
We had a sausage roll, almond croissant and a ham and cheese croissant. All fantastic! Amazing place.
P. Y.
Amazing wonderful bread and pastries. Completely addicted to the place. Staff a efficient and reliable.
E. s.
Absolutely awesome pastries - quite on the expensive side (even for a londoner!) but you will forget all about it when you are eating them!
P. M.
Very busy and popular bakery/ café.Queues likely so expect to wait. Excellent bread, cakes, pastries & pies.Very generous portions.Situated underneath the railway station in a former arch.Everything is delicious.
O. W.
Only had coffee (good)
J. R.
Great breakfast! Everything is made fresh onsite in the bakery which you can see from the seating area. Even the music choice is good.
N. L.
Lovely pastry’s and proper barista coffee to wash them down with. Highly recommend but time it right as it gets stupidly busy and only a few seats
J.
The best bakery in Bristol by a long way. Their croissants are the size of a mini-van and taste delicious.
N. P.
Great coffee and delicious vegetarian options, both savory and sweet. Friendly staff and fair prices. Always a great atmosphere.
S. O.
What a fabulous place. Absolutely amazing breads and I officially had my knickers blown off by the truffle mac and cheese pasty. Lucky, lucky Bristol.
T. C.
Great coffee, superb custard tart! Friendly, fast service
T. E.
Such amazing delicious home cooked pastries. A real find for me when in Bristol and judging by how busy it was lots of people agree with me!
J. H.
Everything I've had from here has been delectable. I always get a treat or lunch when I am near by. It's that good.
m. p.
Always get fantastic food from Hart's, not the cheapest but totally worth the money, excellent quick polite service as well.🙂
C. L.
A bit too busy around lunch, but quick service. The lunch special was too healthy to be tasty, but the flat white was good and the cakes are great.
S. R.
I love the croissants. Just make sure to have an early reservation for pick up or get in to store before 9am because it runs out easily.
C. M.
Cute little bakery below Temple Meads. Hard to find on the first try, but worth the effort. The savory pasties are fantastic
H. S.
Always prompt and happy service of the most fantastic baked goods around
M. B.
Great cakes, coffees and pasties as a Saturday treat - yum!
A. D. W.
A significant catalyst for me having to buy a bicycle and the best damned pastries and bread in Bristol. Not somewhere you are likely to stumble across but once you've found it you'll have trouble staying away
M. G.
Sensational - Hart's Bakery is one of a kind! I went there with a frozen heart and they warmed it back up for me, excellent service.
J. K.
Absolutely wonderful food. Their soups on Tuesday are especially good. Their sausage rolls are the best in town.
T. S.
Great coffee, buttery rich and delicious pastries, killer sourdough and a good selection of cakes. Get there early for the pastries as they do sell out.
P. G.
An excellent alternative to all the usual suspects found at Temple Meads station. Full of yummy pastries, somewhere to sit and have a drink or just takeaway.
C. D.
i had a cauliflower and cheese pasty from here yesterday. i thought hmm this is going to be ok. but it was a revelation! the most delicious pasty ever. transformative in fact. well done!
P. S.
Great bakery, toasties, cakes and all sorts of bread! Never been disappointed here. All served by super friendly staff!
S. S.
Always brilliant, also really well managed with socially distanced queueing and quick service and payment.
M. M.
Great bakery and cafe. A real hidden gem.
S. C.
A very good bakery - the prices are outrageous though. £3.50 for a sausage roll is crazy - even if it is a very good sausage roll.
J. V.
Great local bakery with amazing pastries and coffees. Definitely try their almond croissants if you have the chance!
D. G.
Really good breads, pastries and cakes. Always consider it a treat on the occasions I'm in that part of Bristol to pop in and get a little something.
M. C.
Good croissant, nice coffe, little bit hidden.
Worth visiting .
M. B.
Lived in France for a while, best pastries outside of Lyon I’ve ever had.
G. C.
Such tasty treats and a great atmosphere. The staff are also so lovely and make excellent mochas ☕
J. A.
Still the best bakery and coffee shop in the temple meads area. Location is not ideal however.
P. W.
Awesome. Really tasty sourdough, fantastic cakes and perfect sausage rolls.
S. W.
Great little bakery hidden below temple meads train station
A. H.
Fantastic bakery possibly the best in Bristol. Great service, great location. A Bristol gem.
A. W.
Great food from a lovely bakery nestled under the railway arches.
R. N.
Superb bread, friendly staff, what now could you want? Slightly tricky to find, you have to go around towards the edge of the station and then down to get to the arches, but worth it.
H. J.
Amazing coffee, toasties and sweet treats. A must have before a train!
J. C.
Wonderful lunch. Had quiche, a sandwich and a pasty. (shared!). Bread amazing. Friendly, helpful service.
D. L.
A real bakery.. #RealCroissantsRealFood
S. U.
Great food, sausage rolls are awesome and friendly staff... Not much to say really except go there you'll love it..!
B. N.
Maybe one of Bristol's best. Funny location, so know where you're going! Always lots of choice and often very busy.
J. C.
A hidden gem. Fantastic coffer and enough baked goods to try a new one each day! Perfect before (or after) getting a train from the station next door.
D. R.
Lovely fresh pastries. You can see everything being made behind which is pretty cool. A nice coffee to go with a pastry as well.
J. C.
A great bakery by the train station. The best sausage rolls I've bought.
