K. H.This has become a firm favourite of mine and I now venture to mersea at least once a month to try something new. They also have a delicious range of treats plus sell some great local goodies and gifts. The apple pie sammie is definitely a favourite!
Edit to add that we also used twisted treats service for our wedding cake. We knew we wanted something delicious, unique and reflective of our relaxed wedding. Twisted treats created our amazing custard cream flavour cake and it was incredible, would highly recommend anyone looking for something a little different for their big day!

Really friendly staff that had amazing reccomendations, always with a smile and warmth. Can't wait to come back and try everything else they have on offer. Best place for sweet treats. Period.
J. M.We indulged ourselves taking a calorie laden dive into decadence at Twisted Treats. From the reviews we'd read we weren't expecting reduced this and diet that and they didn't disappoint. My Expresso Brownie was dense yet moist and packed with taste. My wife's Snickers Blondie had a smooth texture and was choc-a-block full of Snickers. Loosen your belts for some yummy Twisted Treats.
L. A.I cannot recommend Twisted Treats enough! Honestly, they sell the best brownies and blondies I've ever eaten, and they have a huge variety of flavours. The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is very fun and laid-back.
Even if there's nothing else in Mersea that interests you, I'd still go just to try these brownies, you will not regret it!
S. T.Lovely vegan sausage roll, and also caramelised onion roll and pizza flavoured pasties eaten by my group. Good price and friendly service and the food is fresh. Also really nice sitting outside or inside. I would definitely recommend this cafe.
C. S.Always awesome treats, perfectly baked! We go to Twisted Treats whenever we go to Mersea and when we heard they were in our very own Castle Park at the Colchester Food and Drink Festival, we just had to go!! Well worth a visit, we're never disappointed!!
A. D.Our 8yr old was promised a milkshake. We popped in on Weds to fulfil our promise, only to find that the ice cream machine was turned off (well before closing time). Tried again Fri morning - machine not being turned on until 4pm. Was told that they were opening late. Popped back to find they were closed! Cakes and milkshake normally good - I wonder if there’s a problem with staffing/the ice cream machine?
P. V.The coffee is awesome the cakes are sublime the fact it's on Mersea means it's a decent cycle away so get to earn the cake! Worth checking out if you're in the area or for a special visit - park for free in carpark behind the library on the opposite side of the road and get a ticket for a short stay or just cycle there it's not that far!!!
