C. R.Love this place! Best cupcakes I have had in town and they look stunning. Their scones are also delicious (and usually huge!). Their macarons and brownies are 🤤 🤤. They also have shortbread which is very typical of Scotland same as the scones.
You can sit in on a small counter with stools or take away and they do tea, coffee and hot chocolate too.
The boxes they put the things into are lovely so perfect for gifts as well!
C. C.We got a cookie and a cupcake from here yesterday. Both were really nice. My cupcake had filling on the inside of the sponge which was a nice surprise. The cookie had a nice texture. Staff were reasonably friendly and there were a good selection of sweet treats to choose from. The macrons looked nice but a bit too expensive at £2 for 1. For something that I can eat in one go, that’s a little too pricey for me.
H. M.Amazing cakes and bakes. The flavours are so wonderful and work really well together. I had the lemon and elderflower cupcake, and it had such a gentle and sweet taste. The staff were so friendly and approachable, and even were accepting of my sisters need for alternate milk options.

I would strongly recommend also their cakes! Took them couple of times for different occasions and the consistency of the quality and the visual outcome is amazing! Just make sure to give good time ahead your event when you want to order a cake as from period to period look to be very busy

Looking at the cupcakes for instance, they didn’t really look like anything any home baker couldn’t do. I opted for the tiffins; and it tasted like tiffin. They’re a pretty bog standard thing to make to be fair.

Peanut butter bar was spectacular, but unfortunately the cupcakes lacked flavor and were overly sweet. The macaroons were hard and out of the hand picked pack of 6, none were fresh or soft. Very crumbly and not very flavorful, unless straight sugar counts as 6 different flavors.

c.I ordered an 8 inch carrot cake for my boyfriend's birthday. He is very particular about the kind of carrot cake he likes (very moist , good amount of frosting, not too much cinnamon or cardamom) and this was exactly that! I have to say it was the best carrot cake we ever had. I would highly recommend ordering cake from this bakery. Their delivery system was also super efficient and when calling the bakery to reschedule the delivery for a day later they were super kind and accommodating! I thought the price was a bit high at first but would now say it's worth the quality and customer experience.

A. J.Two years ago I ordered a lemon cake for my daughter's graduation. The decoration was beautiful but the cake itself was very disappointingly dry. I feel it was a total waste of money.
Last week I bought 2 Nutella cup cakes. One for a friend and myself so I could taste it to compare with the graduation cake. Once again it was very disappointing. I couldn't taste the Nutella and the chocolate icing was very cloying. Sorry, but won't be buying any more. They look better than they taste.

Z. P.We’ve all done it… bought amazing looking cupcakes that tasted anything but. If you’ve experienced this bitter-sweet disappointment, then I’d recommend a visit to
Bibi’s Bakery. The cakes here are not only pretty, but pretty amazing. My outright favourite is the Terry’s Chocolate Orange cupcake – but be quick, they sell out fast. At £1.50 each, Bibi’s cupcakes are an affordable treat but it is hard to buy just one – in fact, last time I visited, there was a girl buying her second box of the day! Like its sister bakery in St Andrews, the Edinburgh branch is takeaway only. This New York style approach to service seems strange to begin with, but if it’s good enough for Carrie and co. then it’s good enough for me. Plus, at home, you can eat your cupcake any way you like!
S.I am shamefully late in reviewing but really do have to recognise the fantastic service I received from Bibis who managed to not only create a delectable work of art for my partners surprise birthday with less than 24 hours notice, but sensing my desperation, offered to drop it off to our hotel the night before we arrived to allow me to maintain the surprise element AND to avoid a meltdown due to my disorganisation!
Absolutely wonderful service and delicious cake - thank you for saving the day!

Fab little bakery nicely located on Fredrick Street. I bought 12 cupcakes ...for a friend... and they looked delicious! Nicely presented in cute Bibi's Bakery box and the lovely girl who serviced me was all smiles. I would avoid on warm days as I can imagine the shop getting cramped pretty quickly

M. C. (.As you've probably realised from my previous review of Cuckoo's Bakery, I'm a big baker and critic of cakes and cupcakes. I pass by Bibi's so often that one day, I asked my friend if we could stop by. I felt like a child, pressed up against the shop window, admiring the cupcake display. We went in and bought some cupcakes and I've been hooked ever since. Like with most other bakeries and patisseries, Bibi's updates their flavours on a daily basis, so you might not always get the same flavours. I've never had a problem with not buying any cupcakes when I walk in. Since they first opened, they now offer cakes, macarons and baked slices as well. Compared to the Cuckoo Bakery's prices, Bibi's cupcakes are definitely more reasonable and worth the price you pay.

N. H.It was always a good day at the office when a supplier we worked with turned up with a box from Bibi's. The cakes themselves are delicious but it is the range, creativity and presentation of the toppings that wins me over...especially if it happens to involve an oreo cookie. The price per cake means this is more of an occasional treat rather than a regular stop but if something good has happened in your life and you feel like a sweet treat, you will be hard pushed to find somewhere better.

I love the cute little boxes for your cakes too. Grab a loyalty stamp card as they stamp for each cupcake so it adds up fast to a free one! The varieties are ever-changing based on seasonal themes and popularity, so it's worth a peek in often. Also, enquire in if you're after a proper customised birthday cake..!

S. C.The fad for cupcakes shows no signs of going away as businesses like this still seem to be doing well. This is a takeaway rather than sit in place and the cakes are perfect for a gift, or to take along as desert if your having dinner at someones house. Flavours are indulgent, and prices vary for single cakes from around £1.60-£2. There are also things like brownies and malteser cake. As others have said the chocolate orange one is delish - have a look on their website for the recipe if you want to create your own! I've given it 4 stars rather than 5 because buying cakes individually is much more expensive than just making your own (which isn't hard).
C. S.Bibi's bakery specialise in cupcakes although they also do delicious macarons, brownies and larger speciality cakes. The cupcakes I have bought have always been fresh and well baked. The flavours are brilliant, the have traditional vanilla, chocolate etc but also more inventive flavours like after eight, oreo and salted caramel. They do seasonal specials too so there is usually something new to try if you pop in. The shop also sells cake decorating equipment although it is more expensive to buy in store than sourcing your products online, however great if you need something urgently. The staff are friendly and helpful although they do not take card payment so take cash with you.
B. D.They get five stars for the fudge and cupcakes, but the macarons were overfilled and icky sweet. I didn't finish any of the several flavors of macarons, but the cupcakes were to die for. One should be careful not to inhale them with the paper still attached.

n. p.Bibi's is the best cupcake shop in the centre of Edinburgh, they sell out of most cakes before the close of business which means get there in good time if you want to have a full choice. The fridge cake slice at the counter is my personal favourite, it's like a mushed up chocolate digestive biscuit chocolatey chocolate thing.

Bibi's specialise in cupcakery - classics (red velvet, double chocolate, vanilla etc) and more out there (after eight, mojito, banoffee) are equally deliciously moist cake topped with buttery frosting, sweetened just right. They also do bespoke wedding cakes and have delightful displays in the window.
