10 10 absolutely banging toastie the bread is amazing freshly made bread I'm not a fan of crust and I wolfed the lot. They are not shy with the ingredients ethier great menu the staff are lovely people. I'm on a road trip so don't know the town but every customer in there seemed to know them all asking for usuals and known by name seems the place to go if you ask me!!

Walked-in in this little bakery and I haven't been disappointed at all. The bread is really fresh and you definitely don't want to miss their scones.
The staff is also extremely kind and welcoming. Ask them for suggestions on what to buy and local recipes.

The absolute best cherry scone I've ever had! Great food, the owner was delightful, and this is an absolute must visit.

Have ordered from you several times and never disappointed, everything nice and fresh. I have complained to Deliveroo as driver was so rude. It takes me a couple of minutes to answer door he kept knocking I called out Im coming, he shouted back and Im in a hurry. I told him I said I was coming and he said oh crazy lady and walked off. I hope he does not come near me again

Had a bacon roll and a coffee. Bacon was perfect and the coffee delicious. Clean, well priced and friendly service.

Yum-yum, that's how I'd describe it.
I only went there once and got a soup with two slices of toast.
It's honestly something you can try and not be disappointed.
The funny thing is that I thought I'd ask for a spoon since I got a soup and I was told that they don't have any left. The guy that served me also mentioned that the soup should be alright if I just drink it.
To be honest, he wasn't wrong.. but I prefer eating my soup, rather than drinking it.
Edit: I got two scones from there and a late.. the lady that served me was so nice and the scone was still warm as I was eating it (raspberry almond one)
One of the best scones I had tbh.. definitely recommend. :D

Great vegan options and amazing spicy tomato soup.

For the many years I lived in Edinburgh this was a frequent stop in my walk to work. Wonderful scones. Friendly people. Simple. Direct. Great. Nothing pretentious or fancy. Raw goodness. Preacher's is Scotland.

Wonderful breakfast sandwiches, cherry scones were melt in your mouth delicious and the staff was so friendly, inviting and offered great suggestions on what to eat. Not to mention a great location to start your walk down the grass market afterwards. Highly recommend.

Excellent rolls and scones! I buy fruit scones as standard, but the white choc & coconut are worth trying!

Nice simple place, one of the better no nonsense square sausage rolls you'll get. Roll and tattie scone baked in house. Friendly staff, accepts card payments.
Only real critism would be it's freezing inside but that's only during the winter and not really an issue.
Soups are good too, sandwich and wrap offerings are becoming more adventurous and everything I've had I've liked.

First visit through the TGTG App and the bag received was amazing! Really tasty nibbles and the baguettes were top notch. 10/10 would recommend!

A combination of appropriate prices, mouth-watering dishes, quick delivery and an impressive variety of vegan options makes this place an absolute DREAM. I haven’t had a chance to sit in the patisserie yet, but i’ve been ordering their food for some time, and it’s just flawless.

I liked the coffee here more than anywhere else I tried in town. Not sure if it was the beans or some magical flick of the wrist performed by the barrista. They open early which was a big plus for me. I also like scones. Staff was also great. Buy a coffee if nothing else because the decor could use some renovation.

Best bakers I have ever been to. Their morning rolls simply cannot be beaten. They also do amazing cherry scones!

Great bakery introduction for two kiwis in Edinburgh for the first time. Friendly service and a delicious cheese scone and sausage roll. Going back tomorrow for another round for sure

Really nice staff and great prices!

The best bacon rolls in Edinburgh. The key is they bake their own rolls so they're fresh and make the bacon fresh too.
They also bake fresh scones which are amazing.

Preachers isn't about to win any awards for their interior decor. But that's ok. The lack of magic in the 'foyer' is more than made up for by whatever Gandolf and Dumbledore are cooking up in the back. The spellbinding lorne/square sausage roll i just devoured like a right wee greedy bass-chard was biblical. Last week i requested a 'crispy bacon' roll and got exactly that. Sure, i was made to wait for it but patience is indeed a virtue and easily makes up for being handed a bacon roll of the non-crispy variety which you only realise is such when you sit down to 'enjoy' your Friday treat and it's too late to do anything about it bar sob gently into your 'breakfast meat' which looks like a good vet could bring it back to life. Ask for crispy at Preachers and you shalth be rewarded. Their morning rolls are soft and opulent and i saw with my own eyes a batch going in the oven. And don't get me started on their scotch pies... Ok, do get me started. Granted, they lack a touch of picante but that's my own taste. The pastry though. Geez Louise. Let me take a moment. (Also made in store. I asked.) Well done Preachers. You have played no small part in helping me to defeat this raging hangover. I... i... i love you. Thanks. x

Best Chicken Pesto and cheese multigrain baguette I’ve ever had. Ok it’s the only Chicken Pesto and cheese multigrain baguette I’ve ever had but it was outstanding. Super price also!

Aloha from Hawaii USA. We stumbled into this place being dragged by the enticing aroma and a rumble in our tummy. It was early afternoon and all they had left was plane scones. With butter and jam the dear man asked, but of course we said. Oh boy they were so good and the price was very reasonable. Cheaper and better than anything you can get in a chain coffee house. Mahalo as we say in Hawaii for "Thanks".

A small, traditional coffee house/bakery in the city of Edinburgh. Freshly baked pastries, local food, friendly staff and reasonable prices.
Definitely the only place in town to go for your breakfast and small bites.
