My wife ordered a birthday cake for me using Sugar Daddy’s Bakery. She said communication was excellent, with quick replies, and they were very accommodating. Everything was so convenient and the process of ordering the cake was simple. The cake was very professionally made and it tasted great. When we picked up the cake we decided to also get a cinnamon bun blondie and a cookie pie slice. Both of these were incredibly tasty, probably nicer than the cake. The staff were very friendly when they served us. The shop itself is fairly small but they do have a good selection of sweet treats and some savoury options. They also serve a selection of hot drinks. The shop is situated well, being next to the meadows.

Sugar Daddy's Bakery not only has put a lot of time and effort into the look and design of their shop but the cakes themselves too. Every cake looks beautiful, is displayed nicely and taste fantastic. Each food item is clearly marked what allergies it caters for. Fantastic if you are gluten free, vegan or have allergies.

Absolutely lovely staff - such a nice and welcoming atmosphere they’ve created. Recently being diagnosed with celiac, it’s honestly so wonderful that I kind find cakes and breads that are as; if not better than the gluten options. The cake was moist, and the donuts were airy and the cookies were the perfect combination between crunchy and gooey. For a bakery in Edinburgh, the prices are unerring; located near the city centre, it’s perfect for convenience. I came at mid day, with only one other customer there as I arrived. However, as I left, there was a large queue of all ages, readily waiting for the array of fresh scones and pasties. It really is a place for everyone. My family and I ate my chosen goodies in minutes!! I’m definitely coming back here when I can!

We ordered two cakes, plus lunches, for our wedding day in Edinburgh. I am celiac, alongside nut and milk intolerant, and it was just incredible to have a wedding cake that met all the dietary requirements of myself and guests, and especially to have cakes that were so delicious. Many guests could not believe the cakes were gluten-free. It was easy to order and arrange both trial cakes and delivery for the day. I really appreciated the chef making flavour suggestion with the trial cakes as this gave us more options to consider. I ordered edible flowers from a separate supplier and dropped these off the day before the wedding. The chef did a wonderful job of decorating without knowing what flowers they would receive in advance. They cakes looked absolutely beautiful, and the lunch bags were much appreciated by the bridal party and suppliers who were at the venue the morning of the wedding. I only wish I lived locally as I would be visiting the bakery much more often.

AMAZING!! I ordered a dairy free birthday cake from Sugar Daddy's and couldn't be happier. Communication was quick and clear and they were very accommodating with arranging to deliver the cake to a hotel for me. The cake arrived in one piece, on time and on the right day! No worries there... The recipient was over the moon with her cake and it tasted fantastic, we honestly couldn't believe it was gluten and dairy free it was so good! I chose the smallest cake as there was only the 2 of us but it was really generous and filled with gorgeous jam and vanilla frosting. It was just what I hoped it would be. Thank you so much guys. There is nowhere else in Edinburgh quite like sugar daddies, if you are gf/coeliac. Had delicious savoury cheese scones for the first time since being diagnosed. Service is always extremely pleasant, and helpful. Also had multiple celebration cakes from them and have always been highly complimented by non-gf guests etc.

Absolutely amazing place. My girlfriend is allergic to Gluten and Dairy and we always are on the lookout for places to accomodate her allergies and when she found this place we walked from one end of town to the next to try it and I can't even begin to explain how beautiful the shop is but the staff member was so enthusiastic and polite he really made us feel welcome. As someone who has no allergies I also bought some GF and DF products and can honestly say the cakes were better than most non-vegan products with dairy and gluten in them. Hands down the best cakes and pastries I have ever tried. Please please go out of your way go visit this place!

It's a huge treat to be able to get gluten-free cakes and pastries at all, so even better to have a whole shop full of them with no risk of cross-contamination. Quite pricey but also high quality. This sounds ridiculous given that I'm reviewing a bakery (which is literally called Sugar Daddy's), but things do tend to be really sweet - more than I would normally expect for a similar cake somewhere else. My preference would be slightly less sweet, but that's personal taste, and also just being able to get everything gluten-free is more than worth it.

I went with a friend during the week at lunch time and this place is fantastic. She’s celiac and was very excited to find a gluten free cafe in Edinburgh. The food is delicious and the cakes amazingly soft (usually dry with gluten free flour). I can’t recommend this place enough!

Sugar Daddys is perhaps the greatest place in Edinburgh to anyone with allergies. Weve spent years trying to find somewhere where my husband can get the odd gluten/dairy/soy free option without much luck. Sugar Daddys is the only place in edinburgh where we can go to have choice. Not just one option, and not just cake (although the cake is amazing). This cafe is a much needed public service. Would recommend it to everyone- gluten free or otherwise. The cake is incredible.

Just everything is amazing, pizza, toasties, cakes, cookies, sasuage rolls. We got a lot to eat then and take home. Shame it isn't a sit down but its still 5/5.

A great wee bakery, with fantastic gluten free options. They also cater to pretty much any other dietary requirements with extensive vegan options. The best testament to how good the food is that it's the best avocado toast I've had, gluten free or not! The cakes are excellent as well, with a wide range available for takeaway and my wife confirmed the coffee was great. Go there!

So happy to see an all gluten-free bakery in Edinburgh. The sugary things are delicious, the savoury items are a bit hit and miss, and the service isn't consistently friendly, but they are vegan-friendly too which is amazing and I do like the fact that I can pop in for a toastie or vegan gf cupcake when I get the urge. I am a really fussy moo, and I'm also used to Canadian standards of friendliness now, but I do like a little love with my food, and I don't really get that vibe here.

As a coeliac I truly appreciate there being 100% gluten-free businesses like this, where I can actually disconnect and be sure my food contains only what they tell me. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but this is a lovely place to enjoy savory dishes as well, or a coffee with something small on the side! (I don't know what kind of coffee they serve, but it's fantastic). They really take care of their customers and their dietary needs here, so if you have the chance, do stop by!

Good ,tasty options for those with dietary needs . However a recent experience soured my perception . I hadn't even concluded my transaction and was told like a school child to go and wait in the booth or outside , even though I was not loitering with my less then six friends , whom had not made their selection , there for waiting for them to finish as I was the payee . I have visited before and don't need to be reminded of the current procedure in such an abrupt way for no reason .
