Reviews of Aya Lebanese Cuisine Wimbledon
A. H.
Ali's Lebanese restaurants in SW London provide the most authentic Lebanese cuisine. I would recommend to all friends and family.

Great food, huge portions and a smashing atmosphere. Had a great evening. You have to take your own alcohol - you really should go! Such a nice place, staff are lovely, and they were very busy and had to turn people away. Now that's a good advert! Make sure you book ahead!
P. S.
We live round the corner from the South Wimbledon restaurant. We’ve always enjoyed the food both eating in and takeaway but recently they’ve really upped their game. Our last order was DELICIOUS. The recipes taste better and look better. Really impressed.

I went here the other night for a celebration meal with my boyfriend. I rang up during the day and was told to come in for when it suited me best.
When we arrived, the waiters were very attentive and super friendly. We were asked if we wanted to move as they noticed we were cold next to the door.
We ordered the Aya Mixed Grill, Lebanese mint lemonade and cloudy apple juice.
The grill was such a large portion, and we couldn’t even finish! The selection of meats were incredible and fresh. The waiter put the rest in containers to take away and offered a complimentary dessert.
I was absolutely impressed with this lovely decorated and friendly atmosphere.
I will be returning as it’s the best Lebanese restaurant I’ve tried as of yet :)

Been here a few times and its normally quite good but not on this visit. Would normally give this place 5 stars but maybe they were having an off day.

Very good food, all fresh and perfectly spiced. They have other "kebab shop" branches down the road "Gourmet", Wimbledon and Tooting Bec. Food is always constant and the sauces are very good. The service however can vary depending when you go. I simply go only for the food and if service is not up to standard then I just shout extra loud and make a scene (this works like a treat) and ultra demanding.
If you are lucky to visit on a day when the boss man is there (usually wears glasses and sits in the corner doing sums) then you will recipes Michelin starred service.

I went to Aya for dinner with my wife last night. We were warmly welcomed by Abdul and been offered a nice table at the window. The service was excellent, the staff were welcoming and accommodating. We have been to Aya a couple of times and the food was always amazing. Abdul took good care of us and frequently visited our table to ensure everything is alright. We will definitely recommend and visit this restaurant again.

Place looks nice, food was average. I had a mixed shawarma. The lamb had the strongest taste of cardamom. Really not nice. The chicken was good. Don't think I'd go back. Once is enough.
The deco was nice and well done. Staff were helpful but I've had better food. nearly £40 for a shawarma and lentel soup and two soft drinks. Not worth the money

Atmosphere was nice and friendly staff. Food portion sizes were good given whilst in comparison of price vs portion size it was decent.
I would recommend.

Fantastic meal! Everyone was extremely friendly, the food was delicious, authentic and brilliant value for money. We will definitely be returning as regular customers

Just decided for an easy saturday dinner- Aya is very good. Had humus then mixed grill which was spicy and all ingredients freshly cooked ( I can tell reheated food at a glance ) staff were friendly and attentive in spite of being busy . Mostly 2 and 4 tables , so if you want to bring a party - is best to book . Lovely Middle Eastern decor without being over the top . If you want alcohol - staff are happy for you to bring in your own. No93 Bus goes right past door so no need for taxi .
Highly recommended - Shukran

Outstanding Lebanese restaurant near South Wimbledon station. Halal menu. Lovey friendly service. Kid friendly atmosphere. Tried the set menu for two and kids menu and the food was cooked perfectly. Meat is so tender and juicy and the salads are lovely and fresh. Bread is cooked fresh and served warm to the table. Will definitely go again.

Such a wonderful restaurant, we had our wedding reception at Aya. Excellent service from all staff members and excellent food. Everything was perfect, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Food was good, but tables squeezed in and no liquor license, no juice or shakes, water and 4 x gas drinks to choose from.

We celebrated a wedding function here and the food was amazing as well as the fantastic staff. 5*

Potentially the best value eatery in London. Everything from the staff, to the food to the atmosphere, to the cost was perfection. I rarely give a 5* review but I couldn't wish for a better evening. Thank you!

Have eaten in the restaurant it was lovely but the take away was not great. Hummus was dry, kebab meat was fatty, the burgers were covered in a spicy sauce and the kids couldnt eat them. It didn't state on the menu that they would have spicy sauces. Very disappointed.
B. R.
Great atmosphere friendly staff. Good food

Great food and service. Would highly recommended this placed. Ben really made our night enjoyable.

Nice food, good value for the food, very friendly staff, nice atmosphere, you can bring your own wine.

Excellent food and service. Nice looking place but a little expensive.

Wonderful! I had two children with me, one feeling poorly, and we could not have been made more welcome. The staff suggested what food to eat and we went with their recommendations. The food was excellent, freshly made and delicious variety for vegetarians. We wished we lived nearby so we could go everyday!

Very good shawarma, amazing kebbeh!!!

Visited with a party of 14, the food was delicious, the service was excellent & the ambiance beautiful - what more can you ask for?! Looking forward to visiting again!

In one word I would say this restaurant is fabulous. Prices are affordable and the portions are very generous. Be prepared for very friendly staff, excellent service and amazing flavoursome food. Having been to many Lebanese restaurants in the UK, this is by far the best restaurant for authentic Lebanese food. This restaurant is perfect for any occasion. Would without a doubt come here again. Definitely would recommend this restaurant!

Excellent food, well looked after and great atmosphere

AYA is one of my favorite restaurants!
The staff are so lovely and also go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, they always look after me and my guests. I always have an amazing experience with their food and customer service. I have taken all my work colleagues, friends and family to this restaurant and will continue to do so.
Food is always cooked to perfection combined with the tastiest sauces!

This place serves up the the finest Lebanese around. It has an extenstive menu selection with a range of cold, hot starters and different mains. The decor is authentic and full of character.

Ordered from here before but never eaten inside until last week. Not disappointed as the food was the usual high standard and combined with excellent and attentive service I'm glad I visited.
The food portions are generous compared with some other venues which makes another strong reason to visit.

Since Aya has re-opened we have been a couple of times and have been very very happy with our meals! Being vegetarians, we get a few hot plates and cold plates along with some dips and bread and we can never pick our favourite dish as it is all so incredible!
The service there is also amazing, they are so friendly and accommodating.
Definitely my favourite restaurant and would recommend to everyone!

I have been to Aya on two occasions, this evening I was very very impressed yet again with this restaurant. Not only is the food absolutely amazing but the staff really do need praise for their fabulous service. Our waiter was very friendly and welcoming. The food came in perfect timing and was the best Lebanese I’ve ever had.
Would definitely recommend to friends and family and will certainly be back soon!
T. F.
Solid Lebanese option, one of the better ones in the area.
Good value.
Quality of the food is raised on the weekends, in my experience.

We had my daughter’s 16th birthday party here in the garden room last Saturday. We had lovely, fun time with delicious food. Many of her friends were new to Lebanese food and they all enjoyed it. The manager made a special effort with the cake and singing her happy birthday, giving us a few videos to remember! The price was very reasonable, coming to about £12 per head for mezze, grills, bread and sides. Highly recommended.
P. D.
Fantastic meal. The chef made an amazing vegan dish for me and my dining partner said her sea bass was the best she had had in a long time. Fab service and good portions. Good value too.
A. z.
We had a gorgeous meal here for a birthday dinner last Saturday.
The staff were very friendly and were very knowledgeable about what was and wasn't gluten free on the menu, lovely meal and friendly service.
We had Aya Christmas menu and we loved it all.
Highly recommended

Avoid the set menus if possible. Some of the starters can be a little bland for some taste palettes but Food overall is lovely. Service not so much unless the lovely owner is in (he also owns gourmet in Colliers Wood!). Not cheap quick food- go to gourmet for that. This is a nice evening meal type place with family and friends.
T. O.
Very nice food with big portions. The pricing is very decent for what you get too. The staff are very nice and helpful.
In the case you guys do see these reviews, apologies for the gentlemen that were here this night as part of the big family 😂😂😂
Thanks for a lovely evening

Dined today with 3 friends and found the overall experience good. Attentive friendly service. Unfortunate misunderstanding meant 1 person was given a shwarma rather than the kofta he'd ordered but waitress immediately apologised and produced 2 complimentary delicious desserts to compensate. Looking forward to my next visit.
M. A.
Food here is always very good and the service is always attentive. We celebrated my grandfather's 90th birthday here recently and they were very accommodating with a specially reserved area for our big party of 35 people. The food was ordered as a mezze beforehand and they were very generous with the portions!
D. L.
The food is great. Service depends on who you get. Most of the staff are completely charming but there is one waiter who is breathtakingly rude. When we asked for tap water (he wanted us to have bottled water) his attitude abruptly changed; he completely failed to acknowledge the request, and just walked away. We didn't get the water until we asked again for it after the meal had been served.
B. T.
Great food, you won't be disappointed. We tried the mixed grill and falafels were tasty! Why 4 stars? The service was slow, we actually had to ask for our menus. The food also took an age to arrive. It seemed like they may have been understaffed that night but I'll give it benefit of the doubt and try the food there again.
N. M.
Very cold restaurant food was good but 1 star for customer service .

Amazing food. ordered at home for our daughter s 18th party! It came on time on the busiest Saturday before Xmas. Everyone loved the food. We ate leftovers day after and it was still delicious. Thanku Aya for Ur great service.

Lovely local restaurant, friendly cheerful staff who look after you. Meats and fish cooked over charcoal, perfectly every time.
Good selection of vegetarian, hot and cold starters even the basic side salad if fresh colourful and well dressed.
BYO on top of that ensures eating here wont break the bank.
You simply have to try this place...

Went there spontaneously after a spa visit. Ordered dish of the day.Oh my what a lucky day indeed. The most tender lamb with my all time favourite , Okra ! Cooked to perfection with fluffy rice and dips. How did I miss that place all those years ? I surely return for more!

If you are looking for great Lebanese food with excellent service go and visit Aya.
My wife and I paid a visit to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. It was our first time eating at this wonderful restaurant and my first time eating Lebanese food.
The staff were so welcoming and engaging, from the charming comments about my wife’s scarf to the lovely chat we enjoyed with our waitress whilst having some great coffee after our meal.
The food is nothing short of brilliant - very generous portions and all superbly cooked, full of flavour and colour.
Thanks very much to everyone involved, particularly our superb waitress Fatima - we’ll see you again soon!

Amazing food and the staff were lovely. I want these guys to teach me how to make everything I just ate. Favorite dish was the kallaj. I think it’s also BYOB which we’ll keep in mind for next time; but we both went with the mint lemonade and it was pretty magical.

The service was slow and when we finally got our meal they'd got my two friends dishes wrong so I ate alone. Food was nice but not particularly hot.
When we had finished they tried to charge us for the incorrect meals they brought us the first time round (which was an extra £8).
Disappointing as id heard good things. I hear the takeaway is food though!
A. S.
They sat us in a courtyard bit when it was freezing. We all kept our coats on for the entire meal. We even booked ahead and this is all they could offer us.
They also forgot to bring out a lot of our order. Wouldn't go there again - there are so many restaurants that serve this type of cuisine. Nothing special

Excellent food and service. Just like being in Lebanon. Bring your own wine if you want to drink wine, there is no corkage. You can get Lebanese wine at M&S or online at Uvinum. Highly recommended. We had our office Christmas party here in 2017.
