Freshly baked treats at J. Ayre bakers @ayresbakers on 114 westmount Road SE9. . If you are in the area, do stop by and try out their fresh baked goodies. They have pretty much what you would crave for from hot pies, sausage rolls, made in house sandwiches / rolls to cakes, cookies and biscuits and hot drinks too. They have Christmas cakes and other cakes on display too. There are usually queue around lunch time so void going at that time and only 3 people at a time going in the shop. . I had their sausage roll (pastry nice and flaky and the sausage is just right = taste so good) and chocolate éclair with 2 ice finger buns for dave. . Price is reasonable.

Catered for my late fathers wake, excellent fresh sandwiches and profiteroles and heavenly sausage rolls, thank you for the great spread, my dad would have approved!

Fantastic bakery. Delicious freshly baked bread, cakes, pastries and biscuits. They also sell preserves, honey and flour. Birthday cake ordering service (give them two weeks notice) as well. And they serve hot food and sandwiches daily (incl. vegan). The staff are very friendly and can help you with allergens information on request. There are always queues here and the Covid restrictions mean a maximum of 3 people inside at a time but if you download the Hopt app you can order in advance and skip the queues to collect your order from the door at the side of the building. They aren't taking cash at the moment so all payments need to be made by card. However, there is no minimum charge required to pay by card and they accept all major credit and debit cards including American Express.

We have been coming to J Ayres for years for their fantastic birthday cakes. For my nephews birthday they made Mickey Mouse Cookies and a two tier cake. Tasted amazing and looked great! Thank you again!

What an amazing gateau! First class. Delivered in plenty of time. The three tier naked gateau was decorated with fruits and flowers definitely had the WOW factor with our guests. I would be very happy to recommend this business.

I’ve bought my bread from Ayre’s for years and the quality has now been taken to a new level and their cakes are to die for. I made a sandwich today with their delicious Chia seed bread and I love the fact that it’s made fresh every day and I can get it hot in the mornings. YUM! I recommend the carrot cake cheese cake and lemon meringue.

I ordered a cake for my Mothers 100th. birthday and Mum and all the guests were delighted when it was produced at her party. Beautifully decorated and embellished with the hand made roses I asked for with a great flavour to the sponge and filling and no dramas about completion for the big day. Thanks

Not much to look at from the outside but don't let that put you off. Proper bakery. The sort of place Gregg's wants to be but will never come close to. I'm a regular buyer of the sourdough loaf and far more bacon rolls - stuffed with bacon - than are good for me. Being constructive, I would tart up the outside. It's not a good advert.

This bakery is nice and clean. Prices are very reasonable. I used to frequent the bakery a lot when I moved to the area. But not anymore because I have started to eat organic and there is no information on whether their products are organicly sourced. With so much information now on pesticide found in almost all product one cannot be too careful. As you may know pesticide "coated" meals ingested over a long period of time cause all kinds of cancer.

Yes it is pricy, but it is worth it. I’ve had multiple occasion cakes made here including wedding, Christmas and birthday and can not fault the service given by Liz. All the food and bread is of a great quality. Now not living in the area, I always try to make an effort to get to the shop to get some food.
