Reviews of Breid Bakers
K. R.
Very good bread!!!
Everything looks amazing, I will try the coffee next time!!
V. L. G.
Been here many times. The breads are always great. Today we decided to try out their donuts and their banoffe donuts were out of this world.
m. l.
love the bread, its great that they offer it sliced - very few bakeries offer this.
lost a star as does not open until 9.30am!!! would be great to have fresh bread and great coffee esp for those who still have brekkie at 8am to be at work for 9am.
T. K.
A local bakery. I remember when it first opened. Made such a difference having an independent artisan bakery. I have friends who visit from West London and beyond to buy sourdough from here
I usually buy the sliced sourdough. The sweet baked goods are all of top quality but my favourite is their sourdough. E5 bakery in Hackney also does good sourdough.
M. H.
Great place for specialist bread and coffee. Cakes are to die for too! They have a great selection of small batch butters, cold brew oat coffee in glass, coffee produced by women only organisations and more really good stuff if you're ethically minded. Ques can sometimes mice slowly, but that's because the customer service they give to each individual. It's my go to place for my daily coffee

These guys are my local and I LOVE THEM!! Fantastic bread, they use ancient grains and make proper sourdough with delicious crunchy crusts. They churn out some delicious cakes too, the tiramisu donut is the bomb! And their little almond cakes are lovely. Oh and the coffee is fab too! Definitely swing by, I think these guys are a bit of a hidden gem!
D. S.
Great selection of bread, (as you would expect!), I had bought a large sourdough and it was the largest I've seen, tasted great too.
K. D. H.
Live on the other side of Bethnal Green, so absolutely spoilt for good bakeries yet wouldn’t get bread from anywhere else. Amazing when fresh, lasts without the crust becoming too tough and freezes really well. Lovely people working their too.
R. S.
Really good bread, all made with sourdough.
I like their ”Roman“ best as it is a bit more moist and it easily stays fresh for 2 days.
They have a limited but very fine selection of cakes and fresh coffee, too.
Their savoury bread pudding is a delight though not cheap.
If you enjoy brownies, their black forest brownie is extremely rich!
L. B.
Seriously good cake and pretty decent coffee. Definitely coming back for more. It is really nice to see a bakery like this. Big portions. Had the Black forest brownie and was really surprised at quite how good it was.
J. I.
Great and friendly staff! The doughnuts and pastries are very good for something so local and I was actually surprised by how good there flat whites are! I knew they were bakers, but coffee is great too!
S. R.
Best coffee I ever had don’t believe me just try you will know !!
Excellent customer service
Thanks for wonderful morning coffe
R. R.
Phenomenal little bakery - would highly recommend the food and you can't leave without a few cakes
Yesterday's bried for half price is the best idea too!
R. B.
Wonderful small bakery in Bethnal Green. They offer a range of sourdough loaves and other baked goods. The Choux pastries looked particularly scrummy! I enjoyed a tasty chai latte. The service was a little slow, but seeing as the location is small, it is both understandable and worth the wait.
N. O.
Delicious sourdough bread and always very nice customer service - you feel very welcomed the moment you enter. Also very good flat white.
H. M.
Delicious bread in Bethnal green reasonably priced! Having this quality food next door will change your life: bread which actually tastes like bread. Try it.. and you will go back again and again..
E. C.
don’t miss the seasonal choux buns! this one was hazelnut and grapefruit, to die for
A.
The pastries at this place need to be tasted to be believed! The lemon tart is honestly better than any I've ever tried. And just to echo what everyone else is saying, the sourdough is perfection. I'd recommend the 'honey rye'.
J. N.
Have tried quite a few independent and franchise sourdoughs in London, and this is by far leading. It’s consistently good and has a nice range of sourdoughs and sweet treats.
D. P.
The sourdough is delicious and it’s always fun to try their different pastries. They have a lever-press espresso machine and do a good coffee. The staff are really friendly and will happily share tips if you’re looking to get into making your own bread. On sunny days we like to get something sweet and sit in the Weavers Fields, the nearby park
C. W.
Didnt try the bread but it looked sublime. Tried the coffee - sublime.
N. V.
Amazing amazing amazing! Sweets and savoury things. Ordered a cake last minute for a friends birthday and they were able to help me out. Lucky to have it next to my work!
A. J.
Their doughnuts are incredible and keep me coming back! They have a nice pastry selection as well and the whole grain sourdough is good as well. However, they open very late for a bakery and so you can’t really get your breakfast here if you’re a morning person.
S. A.
Great coffee. Yummy cappuccino. Lovely friendly staff. Amazing to see 2 ladies making dough at the back. Definitely people try it out. Next time I need to try the Blackforest brownies 😋
M. d.
I buy bread from here once a week. I also tried several other places in East London, but none of them approaches the taste and the quality of Breid. Even after 5 days the bread is tasty, soft inside and a little crunchy. Absolutely fantastic! They also sell other superior bakery products and have a very good coffee or cappuccino, too. The staff is adorable! Really you should try.
J. T.
Potentially the best bread I've ever had in my life and definitely the best doughnuts. They also sell eggs, coffee and butter (they make themselves) so it's a great one stop shop for a weekend morning. Worth making a detour
S. A.
Ok.. I just had a coffee and a jam donut from here this morning and the donut was dangerously good OMG.. you can see every preps when you walk in, so I just asked the young lady serving if I could have one and made the right choice.. thanks again
C. C.
Amazing food and coffees. I tried a sandwich today. There were goat cheese in it. I hate goat cheese but I ate the whole sandwich with delight! This place made me like goat cheese. I can’t leave a better review.
H. B.
Been going here for years, their sourdough is amazing! and they're so friendly! Couldn't recommend enough. Even now I've moved far away, I always make sure to stop by if I'm in the area.
C. B.
Love the different types of wholemeal sourdough. The small cakes and breakfast breads are also delicious, and there are different ones every week or so. Well worth a visit.
A. “. A.
Awesome little bakery where you can watch them make bread under a train arch. Totally worth a visit. I look for excuses to get over to that neighbourhood because this place is such a treasure. The rye is excellent and they even make a pretty good oatmilk latte.
R. H.
Bought a regular sourdough loaf.
Best sourdough bread I have ever tasted. It's looking like I shall be eating the whole loaf today 🤔🤔
G. C.
I went last night for the first time as I’m new to the area. I went and asked for some bread then made the odd request to take some sourdough starter as I didn’t bring mine all the way from home and she was so kind and gave me a little cup! I ended up getting bread, eggs, and she just included two donuts because it was late.
I made grilled cheeses with the bread I got and they were delicious!
Breid has a new loyal customer.
M. H.
Lovely bread and cakes but coffee machine broken so kindly given a jam donut. Excellent knowledgable friendly server!
E. c.
Artisan bakery in a Bethnal Green railway arch. Amazing sourdough loaves made in-house, along with delicious daily sweet treats, doughnuts, brownies ect GF, Vegan options. Great coffee too. A true hidden gem! Currently one customer inside at a time, due to covid restrictions.
j. l.
Have visited their Dunbridge St bakery twice now. Nice & passionate staff who are rightly proud of their product. With the exception of their bread rolls, their bread is some of the best in London. Their bread rolls ARE THE BEST in London!. The coffee is excellent too. If you're discerning enough to appreciate the very best things in Life, Breid is a must on your shopping list
B. O.
Fantastic bread, with a texture that is not too heavy, nor too light. Friendly staff. Passion fruit & chocolate meringue tart was sensational.
Z. K.
One of the best fresh sourdough breads in entire East London.. the coffee and the sweet treats are great too! Staff is very friendly and smiley!! ❤️
K. G.
The cherry and lemon financier, and salted caramel tahini chocolate cake are both absolutely to die for! Lovely staff and both a stunning and delicious selection of cakes!
T. S.
Very high quality sourdough bread. A reasonable variety all made to a high standard. You can pick up a coffee there too. It's not cheap but well worth a visit if you're passionate about bread.
P. H.
Gorgeous cakes and ciabatta rolls. Everything is made in front of you with an open kitchen! Just fabulous!
B. G.
Absolutely amazing whole meal sourdough! The gentleman couldn’t have been nicer! By the grace of the gods we managed to get it hot from the oven and happened to have a slice of Danish Blue as we were walking back from the grocery store. We ate our cheese with our hot out of the oven loaf and we were delighted. Made our day/night! Love this place!
R. H.
Excellent range of sourdoughs and cakes, great coffee, good range of flour and really helpful friendly service, has become a regular now!
M.
Best bread in the area! High quality products and amazing owner! They sell eggs, milk, coffee and delicious bakeries!
A. P.
Yummy fresh bread and treats! It is always a delight to visit, meet the friendly staff and have great tasting bread that is joyfully devoured in a couple of days!
A. M.
A nice and different shop. The server was friendly as well. I went in for thier specialty coffee so I can't comment on the bread (even though it smelt delicious). The specialty coffee was from Rwanda, it had a weird after taste which was supposed to be pear/maple... It was decent. I wouldn't get it again but I'll be interested in going again in a few months to check the new flavours.
S. A.
Went there twice and they had no bread to sell, bit of a joke, a bakery that has no bread.
Great start guys.
I wouldn’t go all the way if I were you to find out they have no bread. Said will be ready in 3 hours. Better off going to super market.
Walked in the cold with a baby to buy some bread at 2pm said won’t be ready till 5
If you are selling bread please have some in stock , not very good business I think.
My wife walked there today also and said the same thing.
a. s.
A real gem. I've tried lots of London bakeries, and Breid is the best! Superb sourdough. They're also super friendly.
R. J.
Walked past and looked like a serious operation so popped in for a loaf. Glad we did - the quality of the sourdough was excellent. They haven’t been open very long (I don’t think) so go and show your support - you won’t regret it.
s. j.
Best bread in east London!
N. F.
The bread is amazing, as are the cakes and other bits and pieces they sell. The staff are friendly too!
C. P.
Definitely the little cakes (almond and blueberry financiers)! YUMS
Haven't tried the bread yet but love this place already. The girl at the counter was really nice and smiley too!
M. E. G.
Hard to express how amazing their cakes and donuts are. Strongly recommend stopping by.
P. C.

Super nice bead and confectionaries! Go here not the supermarket! Looked impeccably clean inside the store and baking areas which are viable. Staff friendly too.
C. D.
By far the best bakery, with the coolest owner, in all of England, if not worldwide.
