P. S.One of the best bakeries in London. Everything we tried tasted wonderful, and homemade. We tried the Jammy Dodger cake, the cookie dough brownie and the Velvet Volcano cake. We went a second time and tried the Cookie Dough Cheesecake; and the Boston Cream Pie, Raspberry Ripple and Caramel Latte Cupcakes. Everything was terrific. We found out about the bakery thanks to her owner, Cupcake Jemma´s YouTube channel, whose YouTube channel inspires many people to bake.

Another brand I follow on Instagram but I came across by accident yesterday whilst in the carnaby street area. After walking along a little courtyard path I almost missed the cute exterior of the shop. Unfortunately there wasn’t much stock as it was the bed of the day but I only wanted 2 cupcakes anyway. I got two valentines special costing around £7 which is OK value. Both absolutely delicious, super soft sponge and creamy icing. Topped generously snd looked lovely. Would recommend and will return next time I am in the area.

P.Loved the shop and concept. Stands put nicely ina tucked away street. Had the tirramisu cup cake and blackforest cookie. Both were amazing although the cookie was bit too rich for my liking personally.
Will be back to try the rest of their selection.
P.It's one of the best cupcakes we've ever munched on. Perfectly moist and just the right amount of sweetness. Our daughter is a fan of Cupcake Jemma on YouTube so we had to try it out and it does not disappoint.

You could argue is pricy. But once you know all the effort that needs to be made for those dishes then it is understandable and the prices seem quite fair.

Had the honour of visiting your amazing shop twice i came during the summer holidays and tried biscoff nyc and a couple of cupcakes(red velvet,mini unicorn cupcake) which were delish. Today I came to collect a biscoff smores cake which was one of the best cakes i hv ever tried.would love to see Jemma,Sally and the whole c&d team.

N. Y.We went on Saturday an hour or so before they closed and they only had some cookies left. We tried the red velvet cookies and oh my God! They were soooo good. Soft and you could actually think you were eating a red velvet dessert. In other places they do red velvet stuff and it's just too sweet and coloured red. Will need to come back to try cupcakes and if they are good as the cookies, I'll probably change my review and give 5 stars!!

I'm a keen baker and have tried a lot of baked goods. Their flavours and presentation are very impressive. Just tried the biscoff rocky road - despite not being fresh, as I went just before they closed, it still tasted wonderful. And as with most goods from here, they hit the perfect spot between sweet yet not too sweet. C&D crew - keep doing what you're doing!

N. F.Quaint little cake shop with a large variety of cup cakes and brownies. They also serve a good selection of hot drinks. The staff were very friendly helpful. I tried a few different cupcakes, the ones that were chocolate based were lovely, the vanilla bakes were a bit drier! Prices are a bit high but average for London.

C. R.Cute little shop. Honestly, one of the best brownies I've ever munched on. Deliciously sweet and paired with the Flat white - absolutely phenomenal! The only flaw I could think of was that they didn't have a tote bag merch. I really wish they plan to include a tote bag in their merch, because it's something I could easily carry around and brag about.
B. U.My sister had ordered some cupcakes and we just picked them up from the shop. It wasn't too difficult to get to even with a pram. The pink sign on the outside was a bit hard to see but keep an eye out for blackboard advertising cakes, cupcakes and coffee. It wasn't very big inside the shop but the display cabinets were fairly large and there was a fairly decent selection of flavours. We got a selection of 2 large cupcakes and 6 small ones. They were quite easy to eat. The frosting was quite tasty and the cupcake quite soft. It was a nice treat.

Y. K. P.Crumbs and Doilies is a bakery that I have always wanted to try. I have walked past this place a lot of times, being neatly located in Kingly Court. Went here with my wife and ordered a slice of Malteaser cake and a Ferrero Rocher brownie, and wow was it delicious. The desserts were exceptionally decorated, incredibly tasty and well balanced in terms of sweetness. The staff were friendly, extremely nice and welcoming. I will definitely like to come back and try their Homer style cupcake in the future.

A.I've just received a delivery from Crumbs and Doilies which included a couple of lovely baking kits which I purchased to gift to some aspiring bakers as well as a little treat of some cookies for me. Everything is well packaged, looks beautiful and arrived really quickly too. The cookies are divine - I can't stop eating them! Thank you so much.

G. N.I never fail to pop into this adorable store, whenever I'm in the area. It is hands down the most delicious cake and cookie offerings you will find in London. It might be a little expensive, but that's central London for you. Aside from that though, it takes a lot to run this place given it's masterclass tutorials on YouTube are all free for anyone, I'm happy to pay a little bit more to guarantee myself really tasty treats. Staff are super friendly and very helpful. I've been here at least 5 time and will continue visiting and bringing friends too!
S. P.This place was highly recommended to me by a friend and I decided to pay a visit on a rainy day. Cute little shop with cheerful and friendly staff. The cupcakes looked beautiful and delicious but I was more interested in the cakes they had on one side. Being a fan of chocolate flavours, I tried the chocolate cake (the other flavours looked good too) and took a cupcake for later... Loved them both! It may get crowded at times but luckily we went at the right time to sit there and savour the slice and feast our eyes on the colourful treats on display.

We traveled to celebrate NY’s countdown here in London, few years back.
And this was the time i kept on watching Cupcake Jemma on youtube. I like how cook she is every time she bakes or give tips and tricks... Her shop is small and cute. We sat at the 1st floor right in front of the window... i think its just a bar type seating. But they have a few more seats upstairs if i remember correctly.
Anyhow, the cakes and cupcakes looks so nice! 😋We ordered mini cutie cupcakes. But unfortunately, the sugar content on these desserts are sooooo high! it was too sweet! we can barely finish d little cupcake... We were basically trying all the favors but unfortunately they were all sweet. Imagine my dismay... i idolized her and baking skills, but unfortunately i was not satisfied with the outcome.
Maybe, the sugar level tolerance for asians and europeans are very diff.

J. B.Lovely little place in kingly court. Very hard to find any faults with place not like I was looking for any. Some people might might be deterred by the price of the cakes. But the price is matched by the quality of the cake. I guess the only downside is that there are limited seats inside so don’t go there with the expectation of getting one. We went on Sunday which turned out to be a very quiet time. But you will not be disappointed by the cakes great variety and fantastic staff 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
L. M.The best vegan cupcakes I’ve ever had! I ordered the peanut butter chocolate cupcake, and after a long day of walking around London it totally hit the spot. Moist cake and really tasty frosting. Typically the frosting is where vegan cupcakes falter a bit. Not so with C&D! Staff at the shop was friendly.
S. K.I visited Crumbs and Doilies in 2019 when I was in London. I was lucky enough to try their delicious treats. I had the Vegan Cookies and Velvet as well as the Salted Caramel Cupcake and a slice of the Malteser Cake. The Vegan Cookies and Velvet was one of the best cupcakes I’ve have ever had. I would highly recommend Crumbs and Doilies. I will be back for sure!
J. S.I came here for the famous cookies, the texture was lovely but I found the biscoff cookie way too sweet. Also the price was pretty steep for one cookie. The hot chocolate was good though but nothing special.
F. L.My favourite baked-goods shop in London: they're adventurous with flavours, while also having all of the favourites as well (e.g. Nutella, Biscoff, Oreo etc).
I really love the forms of brownies they do (e.g. S'more brownies, cornflake brownies etc) and rocky roads (the Biscoff rocky road will change your life), and they used to do these AMAZING whole slices of cake pre-pandemic, which I couldn't recommend more.
They also offer cupcakes, which are decorated fantastically, and large gooey NYC cookies (I love the Black Forest one so much).
You can see based on the length of this review that I have eaten a lot of their menu.
E. H.Crumbs and Doilies were so easy to speak to via email - especially Carly who was almost always the one to reply - when we were looking for our wedding cake. We were quite indecisive for a long time, and wanted to make sure our cake would be vegan and nut free, so it was great to be able to talk about all the different options. It was all packaged perfectly and easy for us to take to the venue and set up with the cupcake stand too.

D. N.I watch Jemma's channel on Youtube, so I was looking forward to trying some of these cupcakes... and they lived up to my expectations, really good and they look so cute! I had a selection of 4 mini cupcakes and they were all great, my favourite was the pretzel one. The packaging is also really nice.

They are not heavy and overly sweet but the frosty is velvety and the cake is moist and light just amazing! Only sad thing is that is a small shop in a busy location and often tourists are hovering over you for seats...
G. A. L.Great cupcakes! A bit pricey, yes. But the taste is excellent. I liked the fact that they have not only normal sized cupcakes, but also mini ones. In that way I could try 3 different flavors (went there by myself).
Although there are some chairs, don’t expect it to be a chilly place to sit with a friend to talk. It is so small that it is rather a buy and go place.

Y. V.Visited on Sunday to co-incide with Jemma's meet-and-greet event. More on this later. Very busy in the cafe but it was very well stocked nevertheless. Excellent selection of cakes, all of which were delicious. Not only is everything beautifully baked, the standard and quality of ingredients is clearly the very best, and it clearly shows in the taste and textures of the cakes.
Jemma's personality is exactly as it comes across on screen. She is very friendly and bubbly. She engaged in conversation with the kids and made them feel very special. They were looking forward to this event and our experience on the day with Jemma made it all well worth the 250+ mile round trip. Top top it all, the cakes are some of the best to be had. Other reviewers talk about the price being steep. If you knew what you were getting, you would happily pay that. In fact, I have paid similar prices at other places and been utterly disappointed so I am glad to say I would visit again.

p.Accidentally stumbled upon to this little cake shop. They have range of cupcakes and cakes. Bought a lot of them for my self and friends they all loved it.
All the cakes were taste amazing be aware it has a lot of sugar.

I live in Switzerland but I planned a birthday in London for my husbands 50th birthday. I had to therefore do everything over email, Cat and Sophie were always very prompt with their replies and really helpful giving lots of advise and good ideas. The whole thing was easy from start to finish. I also ordered 6 Vegan cupcakes, they were amazing! All cakes were so professionally done, looked great, tasted even better. Thank you Crumbs & Doilies.

M. K.A small modest shop within Kingsley Court which my friend and I stopped by for a tea break. The cupcakes were great and there are mini ones too if you are afraid of too much sugars. Even then I thought the cupcakes weren't overly sweet. Only thing is there's limited seats and we had to grab a seat at the bench outside the shop instead.

B. B.I ordered the Tuck Shop Cake for my partner's birthday. Requested before 12 pm delivery. Over all I must say this is the best layer cake I've tried in ages. The sponge was moist and not too sweet, which balanced out the sweet buttercream inside and out. Delivery was on spot and very punctual. I can only recommend their cakes and the service was excellent too. I will definitely order again. Keep up the amazing work C&D team!

E. Q.I’m a big cake and cookie enthusiast and I love this place. Have been following them on YouTube for some time and found myself in the area and had to go in to try. Staff is amazing and makes you feel like you’ve been friends for a long time, super happy and service minded. I was not disappointed with my experience. I had a biscoff levain cookie and it was a flashback to New York in a bite! I recommend trying all of their amazing bakes.

B. M.We would highly recommend Crumbs & Doilies. We placed a large order of colour-match cupcakes for a celebration event, and the cupcakes both looked and tasted delicious. They were able to perfectly match the icing to our branding colours, print our logo to a very high quality onto the icing and delivery and service were perfect. They went down a treat at our event, were very reasonably priced and the leftovers were devoured in the office the following day!
V. R.I went to C and D and loved the Gluten free unicorn cupcakes. They were amazing. But Jemma, can I tell you honestly that when I tried the cinnamon flavour cupcakes, there wasn’t a stronger taste to get the flavour exactly. But I loved the staff. They were so sweet. I loved the billing person who helped me understand the UK currency and gave me the exact change without lying to me as I am from a different country. Loved that honestly!

S. A.I visited on Sunday about an hour before closing. Unfortunately not many treats left. They did have all the cookie flavours and 2 mini cupcakes. There were no signs or boards displaying all the special offers/deals. The counter assistant told me (after i asked) that they had a deal to buy 5 cookies and the 6th is free. I got the cookie flavours including red velvet, double cocoa, biscoff, white choc & raspberry and milk chocolate. I have tried the red velvet and biscoff so far. The cookies are crispy on the edge and soft in the middle. The biscoff cookie was really good and my favourite so far. The counter assistant was very friendly. I was a fan of their youtube and insta before visiting so was lovely to see the place. Its smaller than i thought with no seating inside but a bench outside. It was a bit tricky to find from carnaby street you have to walk through Kingly court and turn right onto a little cobbled alley. I would recommend an early visit to sample their full selection.

We popped down here today for the meet and greet with Jemma and bought a couple of cakes whilst we were there. First off, all the staff and Jemma herself were lovely and the whole place has a very wholesome and welcoming feel. The cakes though, just wow!! The displays were lovely and inviting, and there was a vast range (including gluten free and vegan!) on offer. We opted for the Easter specials; a lemon meringue cupcake, a cookie cheesecake slice and a box of 6 mini cupcakes. These are by far the best cakes my partner and I have ever eaten (and we do eat a lot!) and I would say they are better than the cakes from the bigger chains and bakeries around.
I cannot recommend enough that you pop in and buy a cake or three, you won't regret it.

I've had to update this rating a few years later to three stars instead of 5 because while their cupcakes taste great they are very inflexible about the online orders for no economical reason. For instance I wanted to buy a half dozen of a flavour and they refused despite the fact they sold a mini dozen of the same flavour. It's literally the same amount of dough but if you buy it in the big size they want to force you to buy a dozen. Similarly they sold one of the flavours I wanted to buy in a selection but refused to allow me to buy the same flavour on its own in a dozen or half dozen, even though it wastes their money making only a few of that flavour and a few of the ones I don't want, which leads to reduced customer satisfaction, but they simply don't care. Policy is policy. If anyone knows a better or just as good cupcake shop in London please let me know. I'm tired of giving this place my money when they don't care about customer satisfaction.

J. M.A small shop that sells a nice selection of cup cakes, including some interesting combinations. Prices are a little steep but the strawberry and cream and red velvet cup cakes were delicious. You can also order coffee here and sit in, although seating is limited.

L. C."Once we are in London, we must go to Crumbs and Doilies", my wife stated repeatedly as we started our holiday to London back in April 2019. Owned by Youtube personality @CupcakeJemma (aka Jemma Wilson), apart from her name being mentioned, I honestly had no knowledge of this shop even existing.
Well needless to say, as we were presented with this humble little "cupcake bar", the amounts of people flocking around it was astounding, which presented a tad bit of a problem to see what was on display. However, upon our turn, we were presented with a visual feast that not only made our mouths water, but it did make my wallet cry a little bit, as this is quite an expensive treat (my wife did justify this pricing structure, due to the ingredients used being of quite a highly priced nature and high quality ingredients). Also, my knowledge on Gourmet Cupcakes are also not as vast, and differs greatly from conventional cupcakes, hence the price difference.
We opted for the s'mores cupcakes (which resulted in a jubilant "squee" sound from my wife, whom have drooled over this recipe since its inception on Jemma's channel).
The proof is in the pudding, and I have to say: it was a great cupcake, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Overall summary: staff was super friendly, venue is quite tiny (very cozy) and the overall product is fantastic. Will most definitely see us again once we're back.

Downside is the selection changes daily so your favourite might not always be available, but I guess it means you get to try something new. Friendly staff and great packaging/presentation as well.

A. P.I've been a fan of the YouTube channel for a while now and I couldn't wait to get my hands on these cupcakes. Knowing that they are free of any additives and (as far as I know) baked with organic ingredients, I expected them to be a bit pricier than prepackaged ones from Tesco. But 3.40 for a normal sized and 1.80 for a mini version is a bit excessive. Unfortunately I felt a bit 'unwelcome' after talking to my partner about which cupcakes to get since there was quite a big variety and we just took a couple of minutes to decide. One lady kept looking at us expectedly which made us a bit uncomfortable. Also the question whether they serve decaf coffee was met almost a bit patronising. As if it is a crime to not being able to have caffeine. But the lady serving us (I think I remember 3 ladies and one man in the shop) eventually was super nice and helpful.
Nonetheless of all the knit picking we ended up buying 4 different cupcake flavours and one slice of Rocky Road! The Rolo as well as the Brown butter Hazelnut cupcakes were outstanding. I can't tell whether the Red Velvet was the vegan variation or not, because the icing on top didn't taste like cream cheese frosting at all. Still tasty, though!
The absolute cherry on top was the Caramel Popcorn cupcake. Although the popcorn on top was a bit soft, which I blame on the buttercream, the combination of the salty and sweet was just out of this world. I wish I had finished with that cupcake so the taste lingered forever! I also wish I could find the recipe for them on the YouTube channel, but I couldn't! Bummer!

After trying the very good Maitre Choux this store i happened across whilst walking through carnaby street. I popped in and gave 6 items a shot ( 3 though are identical ) ..... and when trying them they were extremely good. The sponge was very soft and flavorful ( Banana / toffee and Tiramisu ) and extremely light. Would highly recommend these as a takeout and will recommend to friends
The store space ( not knowing anything about the store or whether a chain etc ) was fairly small with a few wall counter stools and small tables - at the time popping in it was full with only ladies enjoying cake/coffee

I was hoping for a lighter note on apple - cheesecake crumble. Yes yes, a cheesecake superimposed on an apple crumble. Always full of originality but in the end, I do not adhere. Le cadre est agréable avec quelques chaises hautes, des prises pour recharger son portable (oui, c'était très important pour moi 😂), une belle vitrine avec tout plein de jolies pâtisseries et un personnel très agréable qui respire la joie de vivre. Un havre de paix...
Les pâtisseries sont toutes créatives et originales avec diverses déclinaisons et associations. Tout est mignon et donne envie. 🤩
A mon grand regret, de la première à la dernière pâtisserie, j'ai vite déchanté. Alors que l'on soit bien clair, je ne dis pas que les pâtisseries sont mauvaises et je comprends qu'elles puissent plaire à un grand nombre de personnes. Je pense qu'il s'agit surtout d'une question de goût. Et personnellement, j'ai trouvé l'ensemble trop lourd et sucré. Mais les jours suivants m'ont confirmés que des pâtisseries anglaises telles que le cupcake ou le red velvet cake ne me correspondent pas. Autant j'adore le beurre, autant je n'aime pas la crème au beurre dans les gâteaux qui m’écœurent facilement.
En tant que passionné par la pâtisserie française, j'aime de temps en temps la simplicité et la légèreté. Trop de gourmandise peut rapidement me faire décrocher.
J'ai commencé par un cupcake bien chargé (aïe) avec la crème au beurre sur le dessus, et encore une meringue françaises colorée au-dessus de la crème. C'est joli, c'est mignon à regarder, mais c'est pour moi lourd dans l'estomac. La crème plus la meringue imposante, je n'en vois pas l'intérêt gustatif à vrai dire, c'est juste joli visuellement. J'aime quand un dessert est complexe quand la complexité s'explique dans le travail de l'accord des texture. Tandis que pour le cupcake, il n'y a pas d'équilibre pour moi, c'est grossier. Il s'agit vraiment d'une pâtisserie pour les enfants mais certainement pas pour les gourmets. Je n'ai pas aimé.
Le pire du pire à été la (très grosse) tranche de red velvet cake. J'insiste bien sur le fait que je n'accuse pas la pâtisserie de ne pas le préparer correctement. J'ai goûter d'autres red velvet cake à d'autres adresses, c'est décidément un gâteau que je n'aime pas (et pourtant, je ne suis pas difficile en gâteaux...). C'est dommage car je sentais que le gâteau avait été préparé avec soin et avec amour. Niveau texture, il était ultra moelleux et on prendrait beaucoup de plaisir à le mâcher. Malheureusement, les couches de crèmes me stoppent avec tout l'effort possible. Je prends quelques morceaux et je n'arrive pas à terminer. La part est déjà épaisse et grande, alors toute sa lourdeur en plus, non merci. 😓
J'espérais une note plus légère sur le crumble pommes - cheesecake. Oui oui, un cheesecake superposé à un crumble aux pommes. Toujours pleins d'originalité mais dans l'aboutissement, je n'adhère pas. Si cela avait été un simple crumble aux pommes, j'aurais pu terminer cette dégustation de manière agréable. Peut-être même que le cheesecake seul aurait pu me convenir également. Mais l'ajout de cheesecake dans le crumble aux pommes (avec du caramel en plus) cela en était encore presque écœurant pour moi. Il y a toujours ce petit truc de lourdeur dans les pâtisseries de cette boutiques qui me font décrocher. J'ai été du coup assez déçu, moi qui en attendais beaucoup de cette pâtisserie et qui veux bien croire qu'elle est d'une certaine qualité. C'est la vie. ^^
