Reviews of GAIL's Bakery Parsons Green
J. A.
Loved every bite of it!!!😊
E. R.
Amazing bakery. Great selection of bread and freshly baked desserts. You can dine in or have take out. Very nice place.
t. g.
Really big selection of breads freshly baked. Nice breakfast and scrumptious scone. They even opened a tad early for us.
A.
Bread is good and some of the savouries and treats are delicious too. I think we worked our way through the whole selection over lockdown... nothing else to do! Coffee is good from here too. 4 star because some of the team members are a bit short but most of them are great.
S.
Top-notch sourdough bread and other baked goodies. A bit overpriced overall but consistent quality. Staff are cool most of the time. Layout could be improved since there are long queues from the busy side of the road especially since covid. Outside space is neat but with limited space area.
O. S.
Food is great! but the staff are consistently awkward to deal with. As if I’ve always just walked in after a massive argument.
The blonde woman particularly is somewhat difficult to deal with.
Hope their working situation gets better: this would be a wonderful place if it did I’m sure.
M. O.
Don't miss the maple scones, they are the best I have ever had. All the bread is wonderful and my friend with a gluten allergy says they have the best gluten free bread she has ever had.
E. S. E. (.
Great bread, amazing pastries, a ham & cheese croissant to die for, and a cinnamon roll you’ll want to last forever.
Plus, a tiny outdoor seating area with three benches. Excellent for outdoor distanced coffee whenever this was allowed.
J. B.
Gail’s is just overrated. The bread is good but it has its price and you can only keep it for a day or two. Coffee is expensive and hardly any no-milk options (only soy and oat)
A.
Tasty pastries, excellent customer service, I have tried most of your breakfast lineups and they are all great! I will always come back for more, prices are reasonable, watch out for the parking warden when you park and join the queue to buy though🤔
J. S.
Staff are friendly and love the pain au chocolat’s from here
J. B.
Great local place for coffee and pastries and limited cooked food to just watch the world go by or to get that pick me up before or after school drop-off or pickup.
W.
good service. always a busy place, well know to locals. Service is good.
T. P.
Good produce with delicious bread, croissants and the lot. And on to the bad stuff:
1. Coffees are institutionally ( all 5-6 Gails stores I have tried) too milky, so need manual tweaking on order to be made even remotely coffeeish. I used to take mine back home, empty half of it and add a nespresso on top of their extra shot version. So coffee for coffee lovers is really 1 star.
2. Slowness. Service when sat, but particularly when queuing to take out is slow. It varies, from slow to terrible really, but when I see more than 4 people in the queue ahead, it’s faster to walk on elsewhere. Today took them 8min to service me and another 12 to get my coffee (I was 4th in the queue). Kind of 4 times too long. Which is what prompted this review.
I used to think it’s the staff in Parsons Green store that frequently rotate and are useless (some of them truly are), but I am starting to think it’s an institutional slowness and the way they have been trained. Outlets in Barnes and Richmond I also frequent are no better. The firm should go and see and copy Starbucks (no offence) or Nero processes, both of them different but better.
3. Store design in Parsons Green: efficient it is not. The queue is on the wrong side which makes it extent outside if more than 4-5 ppl. The door opens the wrong way which worsens the above. Then it’s all the bakery produce by the door and at touching/sneezing distance to the permanent queue without any barrier ( I wonder whether they have a note from food standards on this). Then the seating area in 1 row parallel to the constant shuffling and waiting of the standing queue behind it. Admittedly the space is quite a long and bad shape for a coffee shop, but a 6 year old could have arranged it better.
That’s it. Truth be told and testament to their popularity is that despite all of this, myself and many others clearly, remain daily customers.
M. S.
Nice but tiny space for people. Too many tables in a small area. As a consecuence You could be easily be touching next to you sitting person. Cakes nice but overpriced.
It's a nice place when not many people or to get some (also overpriced) bread.
I prefer other places mote comfortable in the area. This one is not my cup of tea really.
R. L.
Really cute little cafe which is nice to working if you're looking for something different in The Parsons Green area. There really isn't a lot of coffee shop places to work in the area and lets you walk up to Fulham Broadway, but if you don't mind the walk down from Fulham Broadway it's a real nice change of scenery that gets away from the chaos that is the Broadway. They have some really nice fresh food and the prices are reasonable. One of a few locations in London and all are good.

A nice place to have a light lunch or snack. Lots of delicious food including a tempting display of cakes. The very friendly , efficient and helpful staff ensured we were comfortable sitting outside where they served us.We had very good coffee and tea , no food, for £5.50 which is average for Fulham.
D. S.
Great foods, bread selection is amazing. They are a victim to their own success as the place is always full as the result it feels very busy and cramped. Today I had to wait in line outside to get my loaf of sourdough. Reminds me of Soviet bread lines in the 80's!
G. M.
Great bakery. excellent breakfasts
N. T.
Nice bakery. Part of a group, but high quality bread, cakes, coffee and snacks. A nice environment, even with an outdoor seating area in the afternoon sun. The bread is brilliant in my opinion
M. d. S.
Come for the food, stay for the massive south-west-facing window and mini-terrace perfect for when the sun breaks through :)
m. m.
The best pie (ham , spinach) I ever tried! The pastry was thin and crumble. The only issue was with the outside seating area ( ironically not very accessible for buggies , pushchair or disabled people)
R. M.
Delicious coffee, bread and pastries shop, albeit too small to eat in unless you are lucky enough to get your timing right to find someone leaving at the same time, as tables are too few...price of a good product
K. B.
Like all Gail's, beautifully presented produce. The service is a bit erratic - often quite slow and not particularly personal. Would love more comfortable outdoor seating.
s.
Avarage food(except breads), bad coffee, unexperince staff but very expensive prices. On the other hand the best almond croissant I've ever had.
M. W.
Nice cafe/bakery. Loads of fresh baked goods on offer, and a decent breakfast menu too. The avacado salsa on toast is excellent.
Z. R.
Had a great coffee in an evening. It was fabulous. Tasty food, Great coffee, Friendly service, definitely I'll come back.
L. E.
A good branch of this chain with the usual good selection of bread, cakes and coffee. The branch gets very busy around 3pm when local school children drop by and also at weekends.
J. C.
In the midst of lockdown Thank God for Gails , keeping us going with a friendly coffee and excellent bread & cakes ❤
