Reviews of GAIL's Bakery Soho
L. S.
The bakery smells AMAZING! Hard to choose from all of the pastries, I got a scone and almond croissant with a small latte. Kind staff and delightful food 🥰
א. פ.
Best bakery! The pastries were so good! I went there almost everyday, and they always got something new 😊
M. P.
This GAIL'S is a lovely little cafe where they sell delicious bread and pastries of all sorts. The coffee is good and all the products, in general, are superb. I want to highlight the great service by the girl who was there, she was very kind.
A. B.
Very good bakery in Soho, good selection of pastries and teas. Would recommend the cinnamon roll and the almond and chocolate croissant, it’s the best! Super nice baristas too.
D. P.
Great staff, great music and great food. Thank you for being like this!
m. a.
The pastries are delicious and the coffee is ✅great in london
A. B.
Great vibe, friendly staff, and delicious food. Get the egg soufflé and cheddar roll - absolutely divine, if not a little messy.

In love with this bakery 😍 it was down the building we stayed in , seriously me & my husband went there every day for try something 😂
So we tried:
- salted caramel banana bread (10/10) so good like it
- pecan brownie (10/10) amazing fudge brownie it’s touch my heart highly recommend for brownie fans 🥰
-carrot cake (10/10) one of the best carrot cake I tried , soft & juicy so delicious 😋
- Christmas cinnamon rolls (9/10) very good taste but was fatty alots of butter
- baguette bread 🥖 was very good I have it for my sons every day he like it alot
- chocolate tahini bites (3/10) I didn’t feel the taste of tahini the chocolate was over taste , I think if they used tahini sauce for garnish it’s will be perfect
Coffee also good.
Prices are a little high but it’s worth , good quality , clean & delicious

5 starts for coffee alone, so good, didn't try the baking but it did look mighty fine.

Nice little shop in soho, full with yummy goodies! This was probably my first Gail's bakery shop I've visited since I read about on the websites when I wasn't living in uk. I was pretty excited and thought it was so amazing how they filled up all the shelves with bread and pastries. I really love this shop. :)
S. C.
Decent coffee and a good selection of sweet and savory treats. Got the mini avocado and egg bun - bun texture was great with a slight chew, and the pistachio, lemon and rose cake - which was slightly dry and crumbly. Tried the pecan maple scone too, which came with butter. Was hoping it’ll be served with clotted cream though.
V.
Really good "sweet potato & cauliflower cake" and "sour cherry & belgian dark chocolate drop scone". Next time I'm in London, I will visit the store again!! And a thanks too the waitress that recomended me those two
B. P.
Came in relatively late so they were a bit out of cakes and breads. However I’d expect the served ones to be excellent - and they weren’t (had a single brownie stripe and it was hard to chew). The coffee could also get better.
L. T.
High expectations for this bakery! It was exceptionally delicious, but we ordered some saltier treats which I'm sure of thst they were supposed to be heated. They weren't that warm, which was a pity rk be honest. Aside from that, you can eat there and the little tables either at the end or against the window are lovely to sit at.
M. T. G.
I ordered hot chocolate drink with soya milk but they recommended to use oat milk instead and they asked me which % (65 - a bit sweet or 75 - a bit more bitter). So I chose 65% and it taste great! Thank you 😊
O. M.
Amazing cinnamon rolls!! Much recommended
C. L.
To describe the olive bread I bought here in bake-off lingo: The flavours are very good. It’s got an excellent crust to it. The olives did not make the bread soggy at all. Well done.
L. B.
Delicious tea and scones with cream and jam.
S. Y.
Great place! Delicious food
O. J.
Came to this place by accident, and I don't regret stepping in. Small place, few tables, few chairs at the bar, and then another bar style spot next to the window. The coffee was made just the way it has to be done. I ordered the big one, and had some specialty breakfast dish. Everything was delicious. They have lots of different kind of breads as well for sale.
D. B.
Best bakery in Soho and one of the best in London. As a New Yorker, I don’t like that all the delicious items are in sneeze-catch position uncovered BUT I suck it up and tuck in because they know what to do w butter, milk and sugar. And let’s be real, British milk and butter are better than ours!
S.
The sausage rolls 🤤🤤 to die for, they're massive and well priced. Highly recommended.
J. G.
Cosy place with amazing pastries and desserts. The seats by the window are great to sit at and people watch while you enjoy your buttered scone and coffee.
F. H.
Great breakfast / hang-out spot with fabulous range of baked goods. Friendly service, good atmosphere.
D. N.
Exceptional bakery, wonderful coffee, lovely staff and very patient with the family from hell!!
R. M.
One of the best places for pastry in London, loved the pain au raisin!
H. J. M.
I have never had a better quice than their Ham, Leek and Comte. This combination is just perfect and all the ingredients are in the right amount. Its not too cheesy or eggy, and you can just indulge in this God-sent product. The crust is neither too thick nor too thin. You'd definitely want to buy more than one!
I also tried one of the pastries that comes with a bunch of raisins on the inside, and for someone who doesn't like raisins, I really liked this!
Their Cheddar Chive scone is okay, nothing memorable.
My sister had the chocolate chip cookie and maple pecan scone and said they were pretty decent.
K. S.
Really enjoy sitting in this Gail's and watching the world go by. It can be very difficult to get a table, especially on the weekend.
Their cakes are amazing and they have a wonderful selection of teas. Their coffee is great too!
A. B.
Great little gem in the middle of tiny soho streets. Very well known neighbors place. Cutting edge fancy staff who don’t let their good looks prevent them from being extremely nice. Cute and cosy. Amazing pastries and shout out for a vegan hot cocoa which almost made me forget about the full fat milk hot chocolate from my childhood memories.
A. A.
Had chocolate drink with cakes. The staff were polite and friendly but the layout of the cafe is poor and very unattractive. Not a comfortable or enjoyable place to eat.
B. E.
Talk about the BEST BAKERY IN THE WORLD! I live in the USA, and on a recent vacation to London, I ate here every single day. Everything I ate was delicious, and I couldn't get enough! Love it!
e. k.
came here as a visitor from nyc and everyone here was so sweet and adorable. try a scone + tea (cream tea as the brits say — i think). my phone was dying and they let me charge it behind the counter. i miss this place!
C. L.
Best coffees we had in London and the porridge bowls are great. Opens early too!
N. E.
Love the fruit drop scones.
Given disposable cups instead of China and a paper bag for our food instead of a plate when dining inside was a bit odd.
A.
Cozy little cafe with a great selection of baked goods :) Have to try the maple scone, it's delicious!
N. R.
Came here for breakfast and coffee and service was great. Pastries were freshly made. Also got a chia seed yogurt fruit cup to go.
l. t. l.
I m usually in love with Gail's goodies but not with the service most of the employee are rude
w. t.
Nice small but cosy place. Choice of breads, cakes. Not good for big groups n parties as small place but sometimes we just need a walk to have some taste. So let's do it.
m. a.
Flat white was fantastic
Lemom cake as well
While cinnamon cake was a bit dry but still okay
M. E.
Excellent bakery chain, serving artisan bread, cakes muffins, and cookies. Quality is very consistent, it's very popular, the range of bread on sale is quite large. I find the quality to be very high better than most. Prices are a little high but it is very good. Cinnamon rolls and sourdough bread are particularly good. Coffee is OK, there are better coffee shops. Highly recommended.
M. A.
Nothing to ride home about. The coffee and tea was cold. Service wasn’t friendly. Food was good.
E. Y. A.
Amazing bakery with amazing coffee!
You can have breakfast or just a croissant with a cup of coffee.
j. w.
Nice pastries and drinks! The hot chocolates are really nice but are very strong dark chocolate.
J. R.
lovely little cafe in Soho independently ran. it seems very popular with the locals. nice cakes and snacks.. breakfasts are nice too with vegan dishes. fairly priced as well since it was in London. only problem. I waited ages for my meal having to ask them after about 30 minutes where it was!! no "sorry to keep you" either. just a bit of a snotty "It's on its way"!!!?? could have done better there!
G. S.
Went into the Gails in Soho today for a late lunch as I had been in the area for work. Was so pleased to see such a phenomenal selection of foods on display. When asking for clarification of what was specifically vegan, I was served by a really polite and informed member of staff. The place had a great vibe & was spotlessly clean so I recommend to anyone who finds themselves in the area!
S. P.
Nice stuff nice menu good food however a bit pricey
L.
I meet a friend here very often for coffee and occasionally also for food. The coffee is consistently good and they have nice seating by the window where you can watch all the hustle and bustle in St Anne’s Court.
The food is quite modern, artisanal type stuff made using very fresh ingredients, and the baked goods are excellent. I’m particularly fond of their cinnamon rolls, their scones (of various filling combinations) and their breads. They also do an extremely decadent hot chocolate that I occasionally indulge in during the winter months.
Gail’s isn’t as hip and cool as some of the other coffee shops around Soho but it’s generally reasonably quiet in that it’s not blasting loud music or so overcrowded that you have to shout your conversation, and you can almost always get a table or at least a seat at the window or by the bar.
O. L.
Really nice place in Soho where you can find tasty baking and good coffee. It can get pretty busy, but sometimes it’s worth waiting. Here I’ve got the best Chai Latte ever so far, definitely the one to try!
B. J.
Great breakfast place. Pastry is amazing and their bread is as our grandmothers used to bake. The place is tiny, so finding a free table/ chair is a miracle, but it's worth the wait. Coffee was also good.
S. R.
Great bakery, fabulous selection and very friendly staff
A. S.
Lovely little bakery on Wardour Street. Scones were excellent. Some may say too small as it did get crowded but I thought it added to the character. Staff really friendly. As a slave to chain coffee shops this was a real treat and a place I would frequent in the future.
P. R.
The olive bread at this bakery is the best i have tasted. It is a larger loaf than most allowing more effective use as a sandwich bread or gently toasted it can accompany any soup. Dip in an extra virgin olive oil for a sublime experience. The deserts were fantastic. There are multiple locations and we are all fortunate for this.
L. M.
Small, cosy place in Soho. Just a few seats inside and 2-3 tables outside so I wouldn't recommended for a big group of people. They have a good selection of breads, cakes and pastries (even savory, just a gluten free options are missing). Coffee could be better (I had a cappuccino, quality of the milk wasn't great). Overall it's a nice place to visit for a quick coffee and snack/desert. I will probably come back there again for a cup of tea or to try some pastry.
A. D.
The cakes, wished i had taken a picture, were a birthday present.
I've never heard of GAILs bakery - but obviously walk past it daily. Now understand there is a few of them and I was deemed the best boss ever for buying four of the cake selection for one of the teams birthday - she very much deserved being spoilt. She works hard for us and so I hope she enjoyed.the selection.
I now have to avoid temptation daily as I walk pass on route to the office. Will await another special occasion before I visit again - otherwise the walk from St Pancreas to Regent Street will be wasted!!
N.
Honestly all pastries are so yummy, variable tea options but they don’t have teapots! They serve it in cups and that’s disappointing as it gets so cold and when you add water the taste of leaves will just be gone.
E. H.
Great bake and eat caffie, very busy
J. B.
Nice spot for a coffee in bustling Soho. Friendly helpful staff. Pretty good sausage roll
T. M.
Only went in so my kid could use the toilet. It was a nice toilet.
The cakes and things looked lovely on the way out, but my son was adamant I wasn't allowed to buy any!
R. B. -. E. k.
Just round the corner from us at work.
Coffee very nice.
Cakes really yummy so watch the calories.
When I get time and have to get out to meet people for a coffee and a chat good place to go but quite difficult to get a seat as it is such a popular coffee/cake shop
C. G.
I love this place! Such great vibes, drinks, and sweets. My experience was made complete by the awesome, kind-hearted waiter, Mattia. He really made us feel like home and welcomes - the world needs more Mattia's!
C. L.
Lovely staff, they were very helpful when I was looking for dairy free options. I had an oat milk latte, which was delicious and well presented. The prices were relatively cheap and fair. I would definitely visit here again.
E. B.
The best bakery in West End
E. H.
Cute cafe setting in central London but the bakes are what really make this one stand out. I got a spelt, pecan and pear cake which was just the perfect balance of sweet and nutty with a fantastic texture. Not the most rapid service but they were extremely busy in a very small space.
L. G.
All week i had to come back and try a new pastry or bread for breakfast. And THE coffe made My Day . Smiling staff we felt very welcome. Thank u for giving US a great start in each Day we where in London. ❤ Yes i Will be back next Time we visit u

WiFi: Yes
Card Payment: Visa, MasterCard
A cute, compact branch of Gail's. The coffee is great, and the staff are really friendly and accommodating.
I had the avocado on toast and it was delicious. A step above your usual coffee chain.
H. S.
Fresh and tasty produce but on the expensive side for a sandwich (all be it a rather nice one) cake and a drink you will easily part with £10. Guess this is fairly standard for W1 now. Staff are knowledgeable and the service swift. There cakes are lovely but again from £2.50 - £4.90 per item not your everyday digestive. Highly recommend the triple chocolate cookie if you have a serious sweet tooth!
S. E.
I was staying in the hotel right beside this bakery for a two days business trip. The bakery sells really jummy Cinnamon Buns and the Latte was also quite tasty! Price for both together between 4 and 5 £ (depending if you consume inside or outside). Only negative point: It's a bit hard to get a seat with table inside due to the small size.
B. D. (. B.
Nice coffee
J. C.
Great friendly cafe with brilliant selection of cakes and buns. Went for a Friday night after work cake (!) and was pleasantly surprised. Atmosphere and staff were friendly - cakes were great. Even had a few dairy free options for me. Worth a stop.
J. W.
Am only rating this particular branch as I go in practically everyday. The other reviews about customer service being lacking are a shame as this place is always busy and they seem overwhelmed a lot of the time, but if you take the time to say hello you'll usually get a friendly response and as a regular I often get asked how things are going etc. Can't say I've explored much of the menu - or ever eaten in or tried the coffee - but the chocolate brownies are pretty mind-blowing as brownies go, as is the flour-free chocolate cake - both are made with valrhona chocolate I believe. Also recommend the brioche chicken bun with gherkins - is a good quick lunch option!
M. v. V.
Best scones in London so far! Gail’s bakeries are great! This cosy store is our favorite place for breakfast. Skip your hotel breakfast and check out Gail’s!
C. v. d. S.
I absolutely love this bakery. Their chocolate chip cookies are the best I have ever had, while their coffee is amazing too. Great breakfast /lunch offerings and cakes. A must visit when around!
J. E.
Gail's baked treats are always delicious, infact i'm often genuinely surprised at how delicious they actually are. My absolute favourite is their Christmas Buns that come into stores in about late November/early December, they're a sweet fruited brioche bun with a lemony white icing on the top - heaven!
When it's not Christmas time, the Chocolate Almond Croissant is a real winner, so too are the Maple, Pecan Scones, mmm!
One thing i'd stare clear of is the coffee, it often takes ages to be made, and i've never had a good one the multiple times i've taken a chance.
G. W.
Always a great team. The food and coffee is superb. The actual store is quite small and during peak times it can get very busy - not unusual to see a que out the door.
S. T.
Carrot cake was very tasty although flourless chocolate cake was a tad too overwhelming. Cute little place to chill with friends or do work. They serve coffee, tea, hot chocolate and a huge array of fresh bread, cakes and pastries.
P. A.
Lovely relaxing pettit coffee shop. Eye catching and delicious cakes and pastesseries, good coffee, extremely friendly staff and a great feel good atmosphere. Would have given it a 5* but it's only because it only has one toilet room, but then again, I suppose that it's enough given fact it is a small place.
M. O.
A decent spot to get some coffee and pastry. The breakfast was alright but very small. I ordered the blueberry pancakes which were served as a pair of pancakes, about the size of a large cookie. Tasted great though.
C. H.
One of my favourite bakeries around London, you will always be able to find something you will enjoy here.
Aside from brewing amazing coffee, Gail's is the perfect place to pop to for a delicious lunch/brunch, especially if you feel like treating yourself.
All of their produce, on display all around the shop, is freshly baked and prepared on that day. And you can taste it in each and every item you choose to indulge in.
Highly recommended things to try are their sausage rolls, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, Parmesan Chicken Sandwich and Pulled BBQ Brisket Toastie.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and theres plenty of places to sit along the windows for people watching, and around the bar itself with tables for groups as well.
B. K.
some of the most delicious scones in london!!! I recommend the chive & gruyere scone, the apricot & blueberry scone, and the maple & walnut scone! also had great chai tea latte sprinkled with cinnamon on top!! there is seating inside & out and it is worth stopping by to sit if you have the time, or you can get scones to take away if your time is limited!
J. J. S.
Good place for a hot drink and cookies or cake even late in the night (open until 10pm). Very bright and the large windows over Wardour St. make it a perfect spot for people watching. If you're into chocolate try their chocolate cake, very rich and moist.
R. L.
I love this little gem of a Gail's in Soho. The bright white exposed brick interior is so welcoming and airy, and the food not only looks but tastes incredible.
I went for breakfast and enjoyed their jumbo oat porridge, with a cinnamon bun to enjoy later in the day. Breakfast is available til 3 which is just dreamy, and with great options like brioche French toast and Bircher muesli you'll be spoiled for choice!
J. M.
Definitely a good find-- very nice food, nice coffee, tea and hot chocolate, friendly staff, with some seating. The food is pleasantly hearty and the sweet stuff very nice, with a very good range even late in the day.
It's also great to find a place that serves tea, coffee and light food (quiche, muffin florentine, etc.) as well as a good sellection of sweet baked goods that's still open in the evening.
A. H.
Tasty... but venue is not very tidy, especially restrooms ... for unknown reason the waitress brought us only one tiny plate of marmelade four our scones even though we were three. Cost saving policy?
M. R.
Gail’s is a great little chain but with a unique atmosphere. The one in soho is particularly nice, and they have a friendly barista who is always up for a chat
G. K.
What a delightful bakery. The scent from the fresh baked goods is intoxicating. The service is as er friendly and still maintains the Soho chic. Very cool and potentially a new favourite place for a snack during lunch.
G. B.
GAIL's Artisan Bakery is a small London bakery chain with shops across the city. I was at some of their branches and recently checked out the Soho shop. I stopped at GAIL's for a cup of coffee and something sweet.
The shop is not very big, but it is nice and light. Friendly staff help you with the choice of bread and other food on offer and prepare a remarkably good cup of coffee made with beans from a London roastery, Union.
When you like bread, you should definitely take a look at GAIL's selection of deliciousness. And even if you just want to stop for a coffee, by going to GAIL's you can be sure to get good coffee and quality food, and the bread is much better than at your average cafe!
R. F.
What a fantastic addition to Wardor Street. Gail is a really good place for breads, cakes and pastries, they have so much variety and unusual combinations of flavours that it is actually hard to choose just one thing to try. The only downside is that the place is quite tiny so be prepared to wait ages or take it away.
M. G.
I love this chain, I often go to the one in Portobello Road and recently one in Ealing has been opened (way closer to were I live). A bit disappointed by the size of the one in Soho, I was expecting it to be much bigger with more sits and, most important with a wider selection of food. Nevertheless the quality is, as always, superb.
M. L.
A smaller branch of Gail's, but one of the better layouts if you just want to grab a quick coffee, as it has lot's of counter space where you can usually find a seat. Gail's are mostly reliable for a good coffee, and this one has never let me down. Recommend the Soho buns for a small treat with a coffee (they have them in all the branches, but here they're most aptly named!).
M. S.
Love the bakery, it's a small cozy place.
N. H.
Great bakes and effective and polite staff make it an attractive place to snack. The small space can make it difficult to get a space, especially if there's more than two of you, and it seems these days there's always someone on a Macbook nursing a flat white for an hour.
M. F.
Food and coffee are good as every other Gail's, which means very good. The problem is that the staff doesn't seem to have a clue on how to deal with customers. It looks like this is a common problem with Gail's.
J. K.
Great breakfast. The buttermilk hotcakes could become my favorite, if I loved in London. Friendly staff, and ample bar, but only one table.
G. M.
It's ok if you're stuck, but there are lots of other places in Soho that are a lot better. It's just all a bit 'mass produced' - though they try to make it look lilke an independent bakery. Some of the cakes sit around a bit too long too IMHO. Staff were not on the ball the last time we went.
P. C.
Was passing by and had a lovely granola for breakfast!
D. S.
Best croissant I’ve had in my life.
M. F.
Amazing options, you would like to try everything, also the service is excellent!!!
J. C.
I think the best sausage rolls I have ever tasted! Artisan bread looks wonderful. All very good value.
B. A.
Wonderful service, I was welcomed with a smile from mehdy and he explained to me their pastries professionally and made them clear so I decided to have a cookie, it was so wonderful and one of the best that I had in London, great seating, definitely I will keep this place in mind for my next visit to london
N. J.
Gail's has always pleasant, clean environment. Staff are always welcoming and polite and the food is simply sublime. A highly recommended spot.
S. K.
If you're after a nice tea with a few sweet treats in a swell environment then GAIL's is your place. It is a little on the expensive side but this can be instantly forgiven: pull up a small stool, take your seat by the window and watch Soho breathe while you relish in delightful food, great service and a charming atmosphere.
M. F.
Very cute bakery that serves a vast array of delicious baked goods at the best prices, optimal hygienic conditions and with a really friendly and professional staff as well .
J. D. B.
I freaking LOVE Gail's. Hampstead is our regular haunt on a Sunday morning, Soho for meetings and Exmouth for flexible working.
Great coffee, amazing food and lovely staff (especially Soho).
S. M.
Quite possibly the best cinnamon bun I've ever had and the hot chocolate is devine! Lost a star though as some of their goodies weren't labelled...
V. D.
Tiny spot with a good selection of bread and cakes. Coffee is good. I usually get there early in the morning as it can get a bit claustrophobic after 10am.
D. W.
An artisan bakery doing a wonderful assortment of bread, pasteries, baguettes and salads. A friendly environment with great service. Coffee was also quite good
J. C.
They do baking right! Lovely macaroons and coffees. The perfect pit stop in London to get your sweet fix.
A. B.
Nice atmosphere and great pastry here. I had a hard time choosing one thing. Coffee was good too.
D. A.
Great, coffee; friendly staff. Good service, and tasty rolls and pastries. 👍 Highly recommend.
A. D.
Coffee was good but I saw small flies walking on uncovered cakes and brownies, and they were cleaning some cups and glasses with just water
L. E.
Great location and open til 9. The hot chocolate was as good as you could ask for and the cakes rustic and homely. Staff were not very friendly though.
D. T.
very good pastry, good coffee and just chilling "coffee next door" atmosphere. we stayed 3 days in London and went here every single morning
A. L.
Great staff and amazing food! I always stop by in the morning. Do yourself a favour and try the French Toast with bacon here!
B. D.
Always quality fare. Particular favourite being the cheese twists. Lots of organic and gluten free options. Shame about leaving all this unprotected from a passing sneeze though......
b. j.
just as good as all the other gails but not much seating though. The blueberry brioche and feta boureka are my favourites
A. S.
Lovely but busy bakery. It took a while to find a seat - which I guess also means it's popular. Coffee was good.
J. G.
Great bakery - good selection of sandwiches and other vegetarian items. Could get a little boring if visited regularly. Salads are good.
S.
This place serves excellent coffee and great food /cakes etc. A good shout for breakfast too. Better to go as 2 than a crowd as it's pretty small.
S. B.
Perfect place for coffee and snacks
D. B.
Loved it. Friendly staff, quick service. Is a small shop, outdoors could probably fit another small table.
D. L.
Get a cinnamon bun! YUMMY
C. W.
Great coffee, great pasties.
G. C.
I tried cakes and scones and they are above average. Nice place to stop by for a coffee and a pastry.
M. N.
I like Gail's bakery and the atmosphere in the shop so much. Just drop by and you will not regret.
J. G.
Nice place, lovely coffee, could be more gluten free options. But overall recommend !
M. K.
We had a coffee here and could not partake of the wonderful cakes as we had s booking for a restaurant for lunch. We will return some day!
E.
Good place for a coffee and snack. They sell bakery products as well, which are very tasty and fresh.
A. T.
OMG. This place... Is frickin incredible. Smooth coffee, sweet, sweet pancakes and lovely people. Enjoyed this place absolutely.
S. K.
Beautiful bakery with delicious breakfast and nice employees :) Portions are big enough for one person.
D. S.
Very nice pastries. We had a pistachio cake to take out which was delicious
S. K.
Nice, not great, not salty sausage rolls.
Nice baked goods.
Very tiny inside, limited seating
M. D.
Delicious and fresh pastry, very welcoming and friendly staff :) We'll be back :)
D. d.
If you like your artisan bread then why haven't you been here already if you're anywhere near Soho. Just go and you won't be disappointed.
P. K.
Great find - really good mochas with a wide selection of freshly prepares food. Will be returning.
J. C.
Great tea selection and superb scones. Will definitely go again!!
J. D.
Great customer service. Food is great, there isn’t much seating at this one though
V. C.
top place for coffee n bakely lovers and not only. amazingly friendly baristas ❤️
P. H.
Lovely pastries and coffee
P. A.

(Translated) One of the best-known bakeries in London is this bakery which I regularly saw and reviewed the name among the most popular in the city. This craze intrigued me a lot, asking me if the quality of the products was so exceptional that that. This especially as the choice offered on the website is huge and the schedules are wide ... Was it a large bakery with a lot of staff and a big production where, in addition, the quality would be at the top? It seemed a bit huge, I needed to be clear. 😎
When you enter the bakery, it is clear that it is a small bakery, all that is normal. However, it does offer a wide variety of products, and still, I arrived late in the day when many products were out of stock ... Imagine if I had come in the morning! 😮
Note that the young man who welcomed me was particularly nice despite the fact that I had a little trouble understanding his English. 😅
I usually go out to eat outside, but I was delighted to see seating in the bakery. There were even several plugs in case we would like to recharge his cell phone, is not it great? : D
I chose a scone nature, with its clotted cream and raspberry jam, in addition to a chocolate muffin. I would have preferred a muffin with blueberries but there was more, no carrot cake unfortunately.
Frankly, considering the reputation of the bakery, the quality was below what I expected. When I read a lot of reviews or articles about scones as the best in London, like muffins, I think there is some exaggeration. We find much better in Paris. However, the price / quality ratio remains correct with good service. It remains a good bakery.
In fact, the scone is served hot and crisp. It is not bad when you spread it including clotted cream (very good the clotted cream!). I like the sensation with this kind of scone to be in someone who prepares me in all modesty, without necessarily working in the craft of bakery. There is a friendly side without fuss that is not unpleasant. But technically, we are far from competition scone.
The muffin is all there is more classic, no different from what can be found elsewhere, except for its chocolate filling inside which is very well dosed. There is just the greed it takes to bring pleasure without doing too much and be heavy. It is pleasant but, again, it is a modest muffin and I am convinced that there is better elsewhere, knowing that I have eaten some better in Paris and some of the most popular addresses.
I therefore conclude that the reputation of the bakery is based on the variety it offers (which is not exceptional quality but must surely be consistent across all products and this consistency is important) in addition to to use a good marketing.
Anyway, even if the quality was below my expectations, it was a nice moment of the past with a good atmosphere that puts you at ease. :)

On trouve bien mieux à Paris.

I had scrambled eggs with toast in the store. The price was high, £ 5.5. (Is it normal in London, where prices are high?)
The sourdough toast had a unique acidity and flavor and was delicious.
