Not a resident of Barnes and decided to pop into Gail's for a bite to eat. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Very good choice of menu options and nice feel to the place. Just a tad pricey for me but would go and eat there again.

A bakery for the modern villiger, sells a diverse range of bread and cakes, also vegan bread. There's also a cafe with seating outside. Staff are always friendly, and are happy to answer any questions regarding to what's in their product.

We stopped for a take away lunch, with chicken brioche bun, was very very tasty! Then also a sausage rolls, was okay, a lot of meat if that's what you are after. The cherry and chocolate scone was dry and had not a lot of cherries in it. Hot chocolate was delicious. Overall great lunch!

Excellent food. We stopped by to buy some muffins at the end of a long walk. The lovely lady let us try some egg mousse brioche buns since it was the end of the day and they had some extra. Oh my, even though we returned home an hour later, the egg mousses tasted absolutely incredible. Not to mention the muffins, which were to die for as well. Needless to say, we were able to track down the fabulous mousses at our local Gail’s last week, so THANK you!

Good coffee and high standard of bakery. Lots of delicious pastries plus veggie goodies. Can even enjoy a lovely picturesque walk around Barnes pond with geese, ducks & weeping willows. Altogether a quintessential village experience.

Very family friendly. Good food selection. Good prices. Plenty of tables for all but the busiest times. Management could be more hands on. Eg they ran out of butter on a weekend and were serving dry toasted bread not telling the customer until they delivered the food. Nobody was sent to the supermarket a few doors away. Odd. But other than this one weird hiccup Gail's is a regular for me because it's yummy!

Food on offer excellent but when we went at 1.45 it was full of buggies and babies and mums/carers. Huge wait. They brought wrong soup then the right soup which was cold then waited for ages for coffee instead BUT customer service was brilliant and we were given a refund and asked to choose something else FOC. Will return.

My first time here. I am a regular at Starbucks for it's consistency. Unfortunately the coffee was not great at this place. I ordered flat white extra hot. The coffee was extra cold even after the barista announced this is 'flat white extra hot'.

Nice little cafe for coffee and pastries. On the expensive side, and a slight shame there isn't more outdoor seating in the hot weather. There is plenty of seating inside, though quite densely packed - might be hard to navigate with prams etc

If you love all things carbs and gluten-laden, Gail's is a very potential go-to option. The bakery has a few outlets, and at least the Barnes one was absolutely packed on a Saturday morning. You can get your pastries and coffees to go, or wait to get a seat and maybe even order from their menu. If you're on a diet, skip Gail's.
