Z. 9.The quality of the croissants has been very varied recently, with the majority of them poor. A croissant should be well-baked and flaky on the outside, with only the very middle being soft. Eight out of ten that I’ve bought in the last 2 months have been all soft and a bit cardboardy. There were a few weeks, I think in May/June, when they were perfect. So it’s a question of the individual mixing and baking them. Can Jade please be more perfectionist in checking the quality of the viennoiserie that you are selling?

R.The baked items are great but the coffee is terrible. It's very inconsistent, if you ask for a cappuccino chances are you'll get an incredibly milky latte, or it'll be undrinkably hot, or very bitter. Still waiting for a good coffee shop in Blackheath as Gail's suffers from the same fate.
F. K.Always a good place for a coffee and pastry. Soya decaf is especially good here and unlike many independents they will cheerfully fill your Contigo to the brim rather than give you half fill and sour look (pretty much any coffee place in Islington)
